I have been practicing yoga just about every day for the last two and a half years.  I just started practicing t5t a few weeks ago after hearing about it on this site...

I did all 21 reps for a few days, and my tonsils swelled up a little, so then I stopped, and the swelling went down, and then I started again, and now they are swelling again!  Do you think it's detox?  I feel like that because if I practice in the morning I feel like that light feeling of being on a fast, and I have had my tonsils swell up while juice fasting before.

I can't believe such simple exercise produce such powerful symptoms?  After practicing I feel really good, and I can feel the difference from practicing one day, and not practicing the next.  In the literature it gives you a program to start out slow, but my ego was all like whatever i have been practicing yoga for a couple years now, these excercises seem simple and easy.  It also talks about the possibility of detox, but I was like I don't normally get major detox reactions when things warn me of possible detox reactions, so I was not concerned.

It is really interesting because I don't have very much experience with detox I don't think...  I think my biggest detox was after I read 811 literature, and cut out the fat, and upped the fruits.  My tonsils swelled at first, it was crazy.

anyway, t5t is awesome.  Im grateful of purchasing the literature.  Transitioning to fresh living has definitely been an unfolding journey I would have never of expected.  It is like layers peel off one by one similar to what a recovering drug addict explained to me about the 12 step program comparing herself to an onion peel.

Does anyone else have experience with detox on the t5t?

I haven't but it wouldn't suprise me. My yoga teacher is always telling us which organs benefit from which exercises.

Go Aguacate!

they are tremendous for the organs AG...i remember when i started them i felt so nauseous...and ive been doing yoga and running etc for a long while....they are powerful indeedy(garfield,lol)....

and especially when you really work into the full elongation of the pose..as you would be doing AG,being fluent at yoga and dance...stretches and works every cell and organ and muscle...
keep doing it,you will work through the detox...

i love doing them first thing in the morning too...

Interesting that you say that Neet. I get very nauseous after finishing. Mind you I can't do 21 of them. I can now turn 10 times though which is cool. Getting better. I'll have to push myself with these more. I have let the nausea be an excuse! As always... you are my inspiration!

Jen no need to push yourself.  Do what feels right.  What is planted in the heart takes root in the soul.  My mom has always told me "If it doesn't feel right, don't do it!"

Someone who is my age has already gotten his bachelors degree, and I am like not even halfway there.  I felt bad about it, but he told me "it's not a race."  I felt like he was so much farther then me, and that made me feel like a loser.  =(  It's something that I'm a little insecure about (my progress in school being where I feel like I should have been when I was 20 or something), but after he said that it made me realize we are all where we are at for a reason.  For whatever reason I needed to take a couple years off of school to be where I am at now, and it's okay because I learned.  Life is a learning process.  It is like this Savoy Brown song.  we all get there sooner or later, and if we push ourselves too fast, our good days will have passed....  those are not the exact lyrics, but it is something along those lines..  =)  I have pushed myself so hard in school, and I ended up with a nervous breakdown.  Stress is no good.  Sometimes our society promotes it with cookie cutter ideals we all feel like we should fit into.  If you think about it though we all have experienced so many differences in our unique journies, and those differences make everything so beautiful and interesting.  If everyone were paris hilton we would have nothing to learn.  No one ever said life was fair, but it is what it is.  Beauty is everywhere you look.  =)

I have also noticed some interesting dreams which I consider to be a symptom of detox.  I believe we dispell a ton of our emotions in our dreams.  I also feel the more vivid my dreams are, the more I have to release in them.  I'm not a dream expert though, this is just what I feel.

When I first cut out the major ammounts of fats I had been eating (about 75% fats from calorie intake according to fitday on average day o_o) I had these crazy dreams about eating cheeseburgers (which I've only had a few times in my life), and other fatty and cheesy things.  =)  Also when I cut out the "drugs" I had all these dreams where I was taking drugs, and other interesting things I feel like I release that are not my usual dream like...  getting very very very angry in my dreams was common.

Recently I have been having dreams like yesterday I had one where I looked in the mirror and I had zits all over my face.  =/  I was never one to break out.  Even through my worst breakouts which were in puberty it wasn't that bad at all (though i thoughti t was at the time like it was the end of the world!  lol).  However, when I first started the t5t I got two owie blemishes the kind that grow deep under your skin, and then surface their ugly head and are kind of painful...  i know it's a lot of info lol.  I know you know what I'm talking about though.  =)

i do AG...the body/mind connection is awesome isnt it....the joy of detox,my motto is,better out than in...

good on you Jennie....as AG says, dont push it...but then sometimes, you should push it,listen to your body, see what happens...ahh dont let nausea stop you,cos when you get through the other side, its worth it..
did you practice on an empty tummy,or 3 hours from a meal?cos that can make you feel ill,if you are still digesting food..

my routine is sacred,i wash my face, put on clean shorts and singlet, and have my own space in front of an open window overlooking beautiful nature ...its my time....i never rush it,i feel my body stretch and flex and come alive as i practice, its wonderful

I get up, walk for an hour or 40 minutes, do 5t's and then drink a hell of a lot of water. Yummmm! Then I relax Max with a big GS. I ignore the nausea... ignore it and it will go away!
