Hi,

While we're on the subject of coconuts, at the last raw food picnic in Brisbane I attended I'm sure I heard Sheryl talking about how the coconuts you buy from Coles are irradiated and dipped in formaldehyde to preserve them, as normally they only last a few days without their skins.  

This was very distressing news and I wanted to find out, possibly from Sheryl (when you get a chance) how you found out about this?? Also, given the popularity of these drinking coconuts around the supermarket chains and elsewhere, how come not many other raw foodies know about this??

I'm very curious, as before I got this information I was going through them like nothing else, but now I'm not as keen to start ingesting formaldehyde-soaked coconut flesh, etc...

Also I'm sure Sheryl mentioned these ones from Thailand get irradiated...Anyone out there with more information, or Sheryl if you have the time?
