Have never done it...but have friends who do and wont be without them...if done well and with real hair..and you can put up with a bit of pulling sensation on your head, til you get use to them,go for it..have fun,you need to pamper yourself girl!

I heard today from my girlfriend, who did my most fabulous pedicure...that she does eyelash extensions, how cool is that!

Most of the eyelash extention glues are full of fomaldehyde, the ones without seem to be pretty expensive.  I don't think the peson getting the extension would get THAT much exposure (but you are meant to get them done every 3-6 weeks), but if the technician is doing even just a set every day, that's a pretty hefty exposure leaning in over the fumes.

Eyelash extension adhesive is no where near as bad as Brazilian hair straightening for fomaldehyde - that stuff is seriously scary, generally 30% formaldehyde is used, bad for everyone in the room.

I have a friend who is a hairdresser. She ignored the bad things she heard and went ahead and got extensions. She wishes she never did. Apparantly there are two ways to do it. One is expensive one is cheap.
The cheap one they glue the hair and it destroys your hair. It depends on the exact method that they are using I guess.
That's only one experience though.

Thanks yangkyi i would never do the glue ones heard many bad stories myself. Cornbraid one they lift up section of your hair and braid it underneath plait your own hair in with the hair extension. Then you need to tighten every 5-6 weeks depending on hair growth rate.

Almost forgot about this. I did the corn braid hair extensions and i was in so much pain that my partner had to unweave it and take it out after 2 days. I cant speak for all corn braidest but i do nto recommend it if you love to sleep at night and dont want to look like you got a skunk living in your hair.

They really yank at your hair so you cna imagine when it feels the same like when your child pulls your hair and wont let go except permanently.

So this will start my next thread.
