i forgot to mention that if anyone ones to start up debates, feel free to start em here. i choose not to take things personally, so feel free to say what you mean.

went for an easy 3km jog this morn. up and back to check the letterbox. i noticed all the smoke coming from chimneys in the valley. maybe i need to share my 'burn fat, not wood' winter heating tips. but i know that would go down like some of my thread replies..

i do star jumps then jump into my sleeping bag. last night bit a of water got into the tent. nice little wake up at 2am.

staying in one of the coldest gullies in radelaide. i do lots of jogs up and down for extended warmth.

weighing in a 61.1kg and 183cm im coming to the end of my 'firewood'. finding i need to eat extra servings of sweetness to flame the warmth of a heater free lifestyle. using my bike to find food often uses more calories than i get. it keeps me lean and race fit mean.

without no vision..the people perish.
im here to provide a vision. by being the change i want to see and showing people what is possible.

people tell me they cant get enough calories on raw.....
im out there cycling the world, riding up to 1530km in a week and winning 24hr solo mountain bike races

people tell me its too exspensive....
i average 3500cals a day, per year and on under 13k AUS net income a year. buying organic each chance i get.

people tell me raw makes em too cold..
im single digit body fat and have had maybe 10 warm showers in the last 2 years...i dont light fires nor flick switches of heaters, rather i choose extra clothing and the athletic lifestyle to warm up. once i rode 20km naked in light snow at 2am...a truly 'raw' experience..
sure i prefer the tropics..but i also enjoy the invigoration of winter chill.

some crew accuse me of gloating, boast'n etc. same crew that watch tv and get hooked on junk food advertising that says' ours tastes the best!' then they que up to hand over wealth and health at the establishment check out. only to get less than optimum results and seek advice on how to get well. my advice comes across as harsh and unsensitive. bit like the animal farmer that provided their last meal, bit like the flame that burned the last nutrient as it tried to escape the pot. 6.6 billion people on the planet now with no idea of mother natures plan for  health and abundance..total disconnection. people frying themselves and their food and taking drugs to numb the numbness. people eating msg, cooked food, pesticides etc and say'n my replies are too harsh. even if that were true, you'd be better off addressing more important aspects of your life than 'durianriders view of society'.

whether or not to go raw is a question of priorities. if pursuing vibrant health and abundance is a priority for you and your family, then its vital. if your priorities lie elsewhere, thats fine. its our own journey.

as they say, cheap is expensive and raw food aint a luxury..its how food is meant to be...

may is here and that means persimmons on the trees. its one of my fav fruits. mega carb calories per bite. a helmet full of percy's lets you pedal along way. its amazing how many trees there are in adelaide yet people dont eat em...all you have to do is ride, walk, jog or wheelchair around the eastern suburbs and your hook'n up a meal.

ever since that 24 hour race my legs have been feeling a level higher. cos you dont push yourself that hard with natures guidance and go backwards...
pre race was eat enough carbs, be hydrated, emotionally poised, slept, massaged and rested. i had the goal to win it and i did. as a result of that victory people in the adelaide health community now have a personal reference of a raw vegan. when that description comes to mind, i come to mind. i want to give people an accurate living example of the term. show em what is possible when we create a healthful and harmonious way of life that is regenerative of ourselves and mother nature.

that 24 hour race burned around 17 000cals...its not possible to eat that much in a race so i dipped into my fat reserves. eating around 50g of carbs an hour the whole race gave my body enough sugar to burn fat for gluconeogenisis ie the creation of sugar from stored fat. my hunger this week has been thru the roof...this mornings breakfast is 28 medium bananas. i will forage a few kg of persimmons and grapes today to make up the rest of the cals.

there is a half marathon on sunday. i ran 5km this week and did a 20km run 4 weeks ago..so i reckon i will pull up ok..thats a laughable amount of running to some of my friends that run 120km a week! and i rock up to the start line and say 'oh ive averaged 3km a week this year..'
but being low fat raw vegan, having an engine from bike racing and a stripped down chassis allows me to dabble a bit in competitive running.

my best half marathon time is 1:22:35. lets see what i can run 7 days after a 24 hr xc victory..i know its gonna hurt..but thats how the body feels when your pushing it optimumly!

no one in south oz can ride as far as me in 24hours. why? cos i do what it takes to be the best.
having that sort of self confidence doesnt do much when you step up on the start line with adelaides best runners for the annual greenbelt half marathon...i lasted 2km with the lead pack before my left vastus medialis said 'dude what are you trying to do? run like someone running 120km a week on 5km a week training?..i dont think so, your stopping NOW!

and stop i did and grabbed my bike, put my tail between my legs and rode to the finish to watch the people that actually trained for the event take the glory they deserved.

so once again i learnt we must train specific to our sport and more quality miles in training, means more quality smiles on race day...

never before in my life have i floated up the hills on my bike with such ease. i know the last 7 months of consistent training and nutritional refinement have provided the 2 podium places and a state 24hr championship for april.

we live in a society of 'i wanted it yesterday' ie i have no time to wait for results. but like an astringent persimmon will teach us if we rush in against natures time plan we get a mouth full of bitter chalk.

we must start small and be patient. persistent and consistent. i often tell people they can expect todays workout to really benefit them 6 months later..it cracks em sometimes, cos they want to get home and look in the mirror and already see longterm results but they have only been on the program short term...

just as the cyclist lance armstrong measured his hydration 3-4 months PRIOR to each of his 7 straight tour de france victories, we must truly know and practise that what we do today powers us tommorrow.

so how do we know we are on the right path? can we expect to crash and burn? or increase our raw abundance stash and learn?
well personally i prefer to learn from other peoples mistakes. im into sharing resources...rather than having to own my own. i prefer to seek out those getting the results i desire and hang out with em or read their books, watch their body language, physiology etc on a dvd, see how they react to things in life etc.

yes its that simple..find someone, something getting the results you desire and stalk em!
once in costa rica i watched a dog for 4 weeks. i marvelled at its constant desire to train and its constant desire to save energy when needed. it was either up and go, or down and recharging.

rode 2hrs out to the start of my race on saturday. first road race in B grade since 2003. yet my aim was still to win the race and move up into A grade. race was 96km with some small hills. after 60km i got a flat tyre. 2nd flat tyre in all my years of racing. oh well, gave me a chance to watch the race in the back of the officials car.

still got 110km in my legs so was happy with that. another race this weekend coming up.

jumped on the digital scales at 60.0kg, now i dont do raw to keep slim and trim. thats just what happens when we look after our bodies. but its interesting that some crew say fruit makes you fat...lol! but when i look at the veins in my abs, i just cant agree with that..

food intake yesterday
6kg sweet valencia oranges
2kg soft sweet persimmons.
400g alice springs dates
2 lettuce
few stalks of celery
500g foraged tomatoes
