THE SOCIAL STUFF: (ie "Please be nice to people"):
Welcome!
We're grateful you're here and part of Australia's largest raw and living foods community. Posting questions, thoughts, ideas and experiences and learning from the ideas and relationships here can be one of the most rewarding learning experiences on your path.
We especially welcome people who are new and trying out raw for the first time. Post any questions you have after using the search (top left corner) to see if it's already been answered and you'll learn much more, much faster. Even better there's a good chance you'll make a friend for life (Piers & Sheryl actually met like this before getting married:) ) If you're wondering about a question, chances are 50 other people are to, so do post it so we can help everyone! That said, a mention of spam is necessary, so here we go...
Values this forum exists to share:
Since growing into Australia's largest raw food forums we've been blessed by the large number of people posting, sharing and supporting each other here. To everyone's credit, the large number of people reading here (many times higher than the number of posters) has become very attractive to interests other than the the stated interests of our community members.
These forums are a place for caring, support and sharing between people interested in a lifestyle based on:
* Tolerance of ideas * Nature * The Environment * Raw Plant foods * Caring & Support
We love the many different ideas in raw and have noticed that different ideas often work for different people. That is why this forum is here to support all people learning and practicing any form of high raw, plant food diet. It is a condition of posting here that you are willing to do the same, whether those people are posters here, well known educators or anyone else.
This is a Raw, Plant Food Forum
We're here to help people interested in a raw, plant foods lifestyle. Can you eat anything else and still post here? Absolutely! You can eat rubber tyres if you wish. It does mean though that posts promoting conflicting lifestyles are not relevant and are removed. This keeps the posts useful for everyone by keeping them relevant. You're welcome to be interested in any topic you wish, and chances are whatever it is there's another great forum on the internet somewhere devoted to talking about it. You're welcome to do so there.
A Place for Peace and Learning
A mosque is not the place to preach Christianity (nor a church to preach Islam), no matter how convinced you are of your beliefs. There are more effective places if that's what you're into. Do you absolutely know that your way is best, and want to prove it to others? Great! Live it and wait for people to ask you how they can get the same without you prompting them. If they do, then you can answer their questions offline. If people don't want your "tough love" just yet then it's time to either learn quiet patience or else find somewhere else to practice it. Leave converting people for elsewhere, thanks.
No Spam Please
It takes us a lot of time checking for and removing spam, which is time we'd prefer making this a nicer, more fun, better place for everyone. Sometimes people who post advertising get upset when it's removed. It saves everyone time and makes you and us all feel better just to know that we strive to take down *all* advertising posted without permission. We like being able to have discussions with friends free of ads. We think you will too. That's why posts, signatures and PM's on this forum need to either be ad free or have permision of one of the forum founders first.
Strike Two... They're Out.
If you're a normal, nice, human being you'll do all of the stuff above without thinking and be just fine. Anyone else will be pointed back to this agreement once for guidance. If after that they continue to behave outside this agreement, then we know they don't want to be here and are basically asking with their actions to have the account they use discontinued. We're obliging types so we'll make it happen as quick as we can.
Got a Question / Comment Regarding an Order?
Also worth remembering is that these are the communities forums. Please contact us directly (1800 729 838) with all questions or comments to do with products, orders or the store. Putting these on the forum spams it up for everyone and creates delays until a moderator comes across your message, clears it off, passes it on to customer service where they eventually deal with the other more direct queries first.
Keeping your queries organized in one place is the joy that lets us help you quickly and efficiently. :D
In a Nutshell...
New members will always be treated fairly and with patience. All you really need to look out for is being generally nice, child friendly, accepting of others and avoiding linking to / posting commercial material. If there is a need, we also ask you to mention other posts by the "Report to Moderator" link in the bottom, right corner.
This can all be summed up as the good old forum favourites, post as well as reading, be nice, stay on topic and have fun! We look forward to talking with you all soon.
