Hi,

I'm feeling quite acidic and clogged after eating a few cooked meals regularly over the holiday season and feel the need to do a juice fast. My question is does anbody have any knowledge or experience re: this type of fasting during pregnancy. I'm 6 months pregnant. I just feel like my digestive tract needs a few days rest...I'd prefer to fast on water but won't whilst I'm pregnant so I feel a juice fast will help achieve what I feel I need...a rest to cleanse a bit and let my GI tract rest and heal as I'm getting bad heart burn and IBS symptoms again and am wanting to overeat again as I've been caught in the compulsive cooked foood eating addiction thus past couple of weeks. But am over it and don't feel good and don't want to keep feeding myself and my baby this way.

Thanks for any knowledge or experience you may be able to share re: this.

Treasure and care for yourself and then you can treasure and care for others. Your love will flow out to others without the restrictions of your own neediness and hidden agendas only when you fill up yourself first.

Hey Georgia- I would personally go for it. A few days of juicing would be appropriate or a green smoothie feast. Get mega greens in. You know your little one will take what it needs and if you don't burn fat too quickly by keeping up the calories/not letting yourself get hungry. Should rebalance your eating pattern.I have eaten very simply and lightly for a few days during pregnancy and found it very beneficial. Thinking of you.xxx

Go with and trust your maternal instincts, be it a mono feast or green juice smoothies!

Victoria Boutenko's 12 Steps to Raw Ending your addiction to cooked foods may be of interest to you Georgia as it has been an invaluble compassionate resource for me( past compulsive eating:).

eat what baby wants. sweet juicy fruits and tender greens that work for you. and in sufficient amounts that provide calories to stay raw.

cooked food destroy's health...

I personally havent been game to fast during pregnancy. I have had a few days here and there that are only fruit, or only green smoothies, or juices. But no day of just 100% water.

Good luck to you organic girl Smiley

Georgia I say go for it. it is obviously what you body needs girl. Just take it really easy and if you feel like something (fruit or veg) then eat it I dont think it is going to matter if you have gs or juices for a few days then decide that you need a banana or two.

This is what my body is graving as well. Good luck with it and let us know how you go.
