Hi Meta,

Life can be confusing hey. I find it odd and a little lacking in compassion that people will say that how we react is our business but then often they are the ones who act in a passive aggressive, outright aggressive manner or who get upset and lash out when something unexpected comes their way. Quite often these are the people who take no responsibility for their own words. Once they feel like they have achieved this step they seem to forget what it was like when that level of consciousness was not yet reached.

Not all the time but quite often. It's as if they have been given a license to be nasty because it's not their fault if the other person feels upset or hurt.

It's a fine line between being a pleaser and being a compassionate person who treats others with respect and can stand their ground in a loving way.

It sounds like they are ganging up on you. Which is sad. With my family, when they expressed concern, I asked for two years. 'Mum please don't worry, just let me give this two years. If I am a medical wreck in two years, I'll go back, if I'm well, say nothing more'. Talk to the one who is most diplomatic and who the rest of the family listens to and let them know that you need to do this but the reactions of others bring you to tears. That you understand their worry.

Putting a time frame on it will give them time to get used to it. At the end of the two years they will see you are healthy and looking better than ever. See that you are more at peace or, like me, not as feisty as you used to be!

It does get better. Truly. My mother has dropped all of her comments about my silly diet. I didn't even need to start picking on her silly diet to get her to do that!

Hugs... it's not easy, but it's worth it.

Thanks Jennie, that was all the nice things I definately needed to hear, I think that I have always been a pleaser, I'm naturally inclined towards keeping the peace with the ones that I love but have found that it means that I'm inevitably not true to myself, i need to find a balance and like you say a way to break this to them gently and kindly and let them get used to the change!  I hope over time they will realise that I'm more peaceful and less likely to explode at them, from built up frustration.

Thanks for all the support!

stay true to yourself, you will find the right words love.....

dont be perturbed by others looking at you oddly ...say you are choosing a healthy way to eat,for you.....it makes you feel good....??

be excited about what you are doing, and it will soon rub off,and if it doesnt, thats when you shrug and say you win some you lose some..this doesnt mean you lose your love and compassion for others...its a choice that you make for yourself, and others will need to show you love and compassion too of not....if they truly care for you, they will accept you and your choices....

enjoy babe...its fun and exciting!

Well I had a wonderful moment yesterday, I was still pondering the Christmas family issue and i picked up Natalia Roses book "The Raw Detox Diet" and what do you know, it has a whole section on dealing with the christmas period, i feel so much more calm about it after rereading it twice over a couple of days. So I'm a happy little camper now, I have myself centred again and feel strong about my choices!  Always a good place to start.

Today I started a fast, my first one ever, prompted by a significant lack of food in the house and also the fact that I've been thinking about doing one for ages, I actually feel amazing this afternoon, I've been able to get through heaps of work!  Drinking heaps of water and releasing lots of bad things inside me...  Feels fantastic!

Other than that I've started contemplating what I want my 2009 to be about, I like to set my new years resolutions around a "theme" for the year.  So this year was always going to be around resolving financial confusion and having my wedding...  And I feel at this point that I achieved both.  So I'm tossing up a year of health a wellbeing, or a year of detox...  Have been very interested in some methods of detoxing the body that I discovered in my reading and would like to get my body to a point where it is functioning at an optimum level.  Having had chronic digestion issues for the past 10 odd years it might take a few years to get to this point though....  Still, enjoying planning, its always my favourite activity!

haven't read all of this thread, just the last few posts.. but on topic of detoxing.. a loooovely way to gently (but super duper powerfully) detox is bathing or full-body masking in green clay. your eyes will shine for days afterwards and you'll have incredible energy. (not to mention feeling a few kilos lighter and having the softest skin EVER)

i buy mine from select botanicals (the superfine french green 1kg) and paint myself in it once a week. seriously the best antidote to any/every health problem.. literally purifies your lymph from the outside. massive mood enhancer.

Hi Geo, i've just read all about that and it sounds amazing!  Will definately have to do that.  At the moment I have a bath salt from Perfect Potion which is lovely as well, but no shiny eyes after that one!  Just a quick question, the select botanicals you seem to have to be a registered specialist to order, which I'm not, or am I looking on the incorrect site?

Thanks

*moan* *groan* *whimper* oh, the detox today is bad bad bad....  which means its sooooo good for me, but still, I feel horrid  sos

Got up,
Drank 1 litre of water
Did T5T (the first time I've gotten through all 21 reps)
Body brushed & showered
Ate 1/4 rocky
Have snacked the rest of the day on about 1kg of plums & had another 1 litre of water trying to chase the headache away.  I'm going for a run & swim tonight so that should hopefully get all the achy joints on the go...

Ah well, the day has been productive, I've made a beautiful functional new webpage for my work that I'm really excited about!  So yay me!  ohyeah

On the up side I've booked into a Jazz class on wednesday nights, should be great fun so I have to look forward to!

Keep smiling beautiful people!!!!!!!!

Gosh you are good! When I am feeling a little blerky the last thing I want to do, or will do is exercise. Nothing more than a gentle walk, then home to my own lil bed! Lovely.

Hope you feel better soon good woman!

Well the grand plan of exercising didn't go as well as I'd hoped, by the time I had gotten home I had a full blown migraine type headache and the best I could achieve was lying on my couch being a total sook!  I had a really interesting experience this morning though, doing my T5T all my joints were cracking and popping like an old woman but afterwards I felt SOOOOOOO much better!  It was amazing!  Today I feel 100% better than yesterday, though oddly I'm almost a kg heavier....  I know I know, I just shouldn't weigh myself, but it was more of an intersting observation than anything else.
This morning, similar routine to yesterday-
Up, drink water
T5T
Body brush and shower
I've been chewing my way through a pineapple for breakfast, though clearly it is going to last me right trhough lunch as well, its yummy and juicy, after that I have 5 kiwi fruits and 8 plums to get through..... Hopefully that will last me until I get home this evening!  Hopefully as I get less toxic I'll stop sleeping so much and start having better time management skills in the pre 8am hours and I'll start back on the GS, till then I am powered on fruit!

Thanks for popping in guys!  Have a super, sensational, smiley day!
