Hang on in there Jenny! I can totally relate to your love and hate relationship with food, it will all pass soon. Just keep on at it and one day you look back and go wow, it's not so bad now. I went through many different phases over the last 3 years, dried fruit phase, junk food phase, cooked food phase, nuts phase, fasting phase, and now I'm going through watermelon phase, I can't get enough!
One thing that helps me to focus is slowing down.
Take care and spend some time on yourself.
Love and peace

Be gentle with yourself...listen to your body and honour your intuition.  You know what makes you feel happy.  Your balance is already there...you just need to fine-tune a little bit to feel awesome again.  You will.

Be strong Jen, it will pass, these things come in phases, so I have discovered! Just listen to your body, so what if you need some cooked, just keep it simple and healthy, it really isnt that bad. Youll find a balance soon enough.

Love you so much

Hugs Neet. You're just beautiful!

Sunheart, thank you for telling me some of what you have been through. It's great to have that support.

NRM, I'm fine tuning like a crazy person! LOL. I'll get my balance back. I'm just a little overworked right now.

Berry your warm lovey vibe has soaked it's way from my screen to my heart. You are gawgess! Thank you.

Feeling better today. I was asleep by 7.30 last night. Awesome. I plan on the same tonight. Caitlyn woke me up at 9 for some insane reason and I was then awake for hours and hours so I'm still in need of sleep but I'm feeling better.

Balance is so important. I took on board what John, whom I adore, said about my scattering my energies. I've gotten many benefits from not doing that and being my own councellor/boss. But today, while I was out with Panda, I shared with her some of what I was feeling and it was great to just get it off my chest you know? I didn't dwell, just a simple outline of what was happening and ahhhh. Felt better already!

I had my fruit free day. I did have 4 dates this afternoon and no reaction so that's great.

I did'nt have brekky as I still wasn't hungry after my pub meal yesterday. I didn't have dinner last night either. Amazing.

Anyhow, lunch was a salad of red cabbage, beetroot, carrot and coriander with a sauce of cashews, lemon, salt and pepper. And some more coriander. next time I would halve the nuts I used and add extra lemon juice and perhaps water to make it runnier. I've got a little left so I'm going to chop some celery, onion and sunflower sprouts into it so that it's just a little different.

I thought I would just have the same meal twice to cut down on my kitchen time until I'm feeling like focusing on food again. Simple things make such a difference!

Have a great day/night all. And thanks again for the support.

Hi there!

I used to think fruit made me fat, caused blood sugar crashes, would rot my teeth, contained too much sugar, would give me bad skin....

What do all long term lowfat raw vegans who get 95%+ of the calories from sweet fruits have in common? they are energetic, have great skin, happy disposition, lean, find it easy to stick to the diet if there eating enough, no cravings, I could go on...

If the body runs on glucose and fructose then it would make sense to get our fuel from the quickest and easiest source - fruit.
I don't anyone who is successful on raw who isn't eating any fruit.  I tried the no-fruit approach to 'cure' my candida overgrowth and my body and mind was screaming out for carbs (nasty moods, breakouts, low energy) so i binged out on breads, crackers and fatty foods....what's better for our health and sustainable? Fruits or nasty processed carbs?

The blood sugar disturbances you were experiencing would most likely be connected to the meal you ate the night before, its proably still sitting in your stomach if it is a complex meal or if its fatty then putting fruit ontop causes it to ferment resulting in a drunk-like lethargic feeling or blood sugar crash, also the fat keeps the sugar in the blood too long and feeds candida causing it to mushroom out of control...because the fat is coating the cells and insulin receptor sights so the pancreas releases more insulin to force the sugar into the cells which drops blood sugar. What a complicated, unnessary waste of the bodies energy and this a big part of the reason people who don't eat enough fruit aren't physically active and don't feel the urge either.

Im not suprised you ate the cooked dish as if you deprive yourself of fruit sugar then lots of other cravings will rise.

In saying all this I say give it a go and see and share how you feel and what results you get.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Jen :-)

Hey Jen! How you going there beautiful woman?
I see you have been going through some trying times - I found it rather interesting that we both seemed to be hit by the same thing at the same time - no doubt for completely different reasons, but i have been there with you and can feel what you have been going through. Hugs beautiful. We learn a lot about ourselves in times like these, don't we?
Have to go, just wanted to pop in and say hi.

Jen...go with your heart darling...listen to your body...be very careful with the fruit if thats what you have noticed is triggering you to be sick...I had noticed nasty little unusual twinges and aches and pains...warning signs that things were not quite right...the body has a way of letting us know when something isnt working by the sign it gives us...it is up to our own selves to listen...we all react differently to different things...stay focussed on your long term goals...and being positive...create some time for yourself...where you can meditate and just be, but most of all stay focussed on who you are...cos that aint gonna change by what you put in your mouth. I love you and stand by you, enjoy your break, have fun with your hubby and kiddies...be in and make the moment...once you get over this hill...youll be stronger...

Here for you in any capacity

Hi All, thank you for the lovely pm's and replies here. I'm going pretty well. I've decided not to post for the time being. I'm getting a lot of time to read and relax and I'm doing loads of that. I'm also resting and having naps which is great. I didn't realise how tired I was until I stopped.

I'm plowing through the raw books and getting loads of answers. Hit your local library and read up on whatever you can. If I'd read some books I probably wouldn't be adrenally fatigued today.

So why am I not posting? Because I've reached a new phase  in my life. A big challenge. And I need to be able to look within. So that's what I am doing. I shared some of what I was up to with two people I'm very close to and they both had conflicting opinions so it's time for me to learn to listen to me. If I'm on the forum I will be distracted and confused because so much of what I am doing is opposite of what is posted here a lot.

I am having small amounts of fruit, seeded watermelon, oranges and apples mainly. And only in the morning. I've reduced the sizes of my meals and am eating more often. Loads of greens.

Thanks for all the support. I'll be reading!

Hey all! Thank you all so much for the wonderful support. It's been lovely to converse with such beautiful people.

I'm doing really well atm on the lower fruit stuff. I'm still crashing when I do have fruit but not so badly. I had some watermelon this morning and withing 10 minutes of finishing I was struggling. But never mind... things will improve.

For lunch i wanted a salad of cos, tomato and olives. So that's what I had. It was so yummy that i decided to make another! Now I am quite hungry and about to make yet another salad for dinner. Yum!

I've just signed back up at yoga! Yippee! Thursday nights from 6-7.30. Awesome. My yoga teacher remembered my voice and we conversed like it was just yesterday and not years since we spoke. I'm really looking forward to getting back into things. I was hoping for one on one sessions but since her hubby died earlier this year she has been cutting back on those.

I'm excited. Ready for the yoga, and the meditation. Yaaaaaaaay!

Yes I'm so looking forward to it. Yum!

I've just been to the Pizza Patch to catch up with Swami whom a few of you may remember from the forum. I thought they still had raw pizza but it wasn't on the menu. Knowing all their pizzas are vegan I just chose to have one of those and I have to say I enjoyed it. Then, as soon as we were finished, the lady who served us (whom I must say gave excellent service, she was amazing!) came out eating raw pizza! What the? It's not on the menu yet. They have to upgrade them apparently. I know for next time! We had some raw dessert and their lemon cake was delicious as was their ice-cream. (You need to ask about the ice-cream too!)

Anyhow, I had a great night out. Relaxed and met a few nother rawbies too. It was lovely to be in that atmosphere wtih everyone making an effort to get along and really reaching out to each other. Reminded me that I need to get out more often!

Have a great night all.
