As many of you know, I have a wonderful little border collie x poodle who has a very friendly nature. Today in the park Bella tried to 'fetch' another dogs ball and the other dog would not give it up! Bella attacked her... I've never seen her like it. It was very upsetting. Luckily I was close but to get her off I had to get handfuls of fur from her neck and just above the tail area. I feel awful about that as I would hate to be lifted by my hair but I couldn't reach the collar.

I put her back on lead immediately and had her drop in front of the other dog. A labrador came by soon after and Bella growled at her. This is not my dog... Bella is possessed. I could not have been more surprised if her head had started spinning and she started doing other weird things....

Anyhow, she was perfect on the way home. I would love any advice that you have about what to do about this.

 Sad

Hey Jen! Smiley

That must have been so frightening for you!

I suggest an animal communicator. We had a lovely lady work with our show ponies every month. It was so helpful! She also did reiki and massage with them as well.

We have the most awesome dog ever known to man and she does what Bella did today, when my daughter (most awesome dog's child) is holding her. Our animal communicator says it is because she is protecting my daughter as Anna (child) gets really tense when another dog is around the most awesome dog in the world.

However, because this is so out of character it may suggest that Bella is not feeling too well. Has her diet, environment, experiences changed?? Has another dog upset her? Is Bella sore anywhere? Have you been feeling vulnerable/stressed/upset lately? Did she go with you on holiday?

It sounds like something that needs to be addressed quickly.

I hope normal, non head spinning, sweetie pie Bella comes back soon!! Wink

Thank you Stargirl and those who sent pm's. Bella is due for a haircut and I knew she was matted but not as badly as she was. I think that was annoying her. Also she started to chew on greens the next day. She's back on the green smoothies.

We went for a walk the other day and there were people playing fetch... Bella started to run for the ball and then stopped and came back to my side looking at me as if to say... "I'm doing the right thing! I'm sorry... I'll be good!"
