I just bought a Breville 800 Professional, and tried on the blending function for my gs, but the greens were not finely blended. They still had a lot of chewable fibre. I think they are not as smooth as my other personal blender bought at RP. Does any know what to do with this Breville blender to improve the consistency?

How come 1500 watts is still not strong enough to break down the fibre? Someone told me on RP that even a Optiva blender from Breville can make gs.. Now I have got a 1500 watts, happily walking out of the store, thinking that I could make more gs from now on, and the result just disappointed me.  Sad I just don't know what to do  shrug Does anyone have any idea? I appreciate all feedback.

Hi Lovefood. I had an Optiva. I think it was Patty who recommended it to me. A few here have had them. Great little blender but for me it just wasn't lasting the distance. I don't know the blender you have so I can't say but I can say that when I make my GS I add the greens to whatever liquid I am using first and blend until quite smooth. Then I add the fruit.

I hope this helps.

Thank you, rawsensation. Thanks for your advice. I have not tried blending again since the first time when the result was not as good as expected. I have added parsley apart from celery and chinese veggies. May be the parsley is hard to break down. It's quite difficult to chew it raw too. I don't think 1500 watts is strong. I have added some water.

Is your gs very creamy and smooth? I still need to chew some fibre after blending  huh I thought I could just swallow it like the gs I did with the personal blender bought here. I am afraid to try again. I don't want to face another failure. Do you have any more advice to make the gs smoother? Will more water make it smoother?

Take the Breville back for a refund.
First , though , go to a library and read their Choice magazines .
Look at the back pages for the Index and look for 'Blender'.
You will see a lot of blenders tested and probably your Breville etc as well.

For me it was the Vitamix or nothing.  A lot of money, but well worth the investment IMO

Hi Lovefood. I blended parsley in my Optimax and it was pretty good! I really don't know the answers to a lot of your questions because I don't know your blender. Do experiment though and I think that Internet Explorers advice was great. If you are not happy with it... get a refund. Most stores have a money back guarantee these days but it usually doesn't last long.

I loved IE's advice about going to the library for the choice magazine. Give it a go!

You could try adding the parsley a little at a time. I like a smoothie of parsley, blueberries and banana and water! Yummm.

I'm with Jim too once I got past the money thing I saw it as as an investment in my health that will last me 20 or so years.

Name any other blender that can do that and I would have looked at it.
