It looks like I won't make it. The only day I can make in June is the 8th! The 15th at 3pm I have a satsang meditation at my place (saying this in case anyone's interested, pm me if you are, the focus is on singing and playing devotional songs, most of them Indian, food sharing is afterwards, and I share only raw food ha ha!). The 22nd I go for 2 weeks to Adelaide!

I would love to organize a little meetup at my place one day!

So shall we call our small meet-up? We can't all make it but let's at least have a small do. The 22nd of June? I can have it at my new place in South Hobart, we can have it outside in the backyard or in very close Fitzroy Gardens if sunny or inside if we're cold... so who's keen?

Well I'm thinking we leave it a couple of weeks until Gosia is back from Adelaide.  Maybe we can have another to suit a time for Patty.  Otherwise it looks like being a very small gathering for 22nd June.  What do others think?  I want to see something happen, but feel like July is the month.

Hi Tassie buddies Smiley

I would be happy to meet up on the 22nd of June and July is looking free for me also. I might have a few extras that would like to come also, so that could make our small gathering not so small after all Smiley If you don't mind Jungle, I'll put word out for the 22nd and see if there are any takers. Your place sounds perfect Smiley

What do you think? And yes, I agree, July sounds like the perfect month for our reunion Smiley Will be lovely to see you all again  ohyeah

Hi Smiley Because I haven't heard anymore. I take it that the 22nd is no go? I was waiting for a reply before I sent out word to the others. No probs, just double checking Smiley

Have a wonderful time in Adelaide Gosia. I'm sure you will Smiley

Thanks Lou!. In July, it looks like the only free day, the 27th is is the National Tree Planting Day, and I am tempted to take my family with me there (did anyone hear about anything about that?). But guess what, the 3rd August is my birthday, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate than having a raw party!!! Hopefully, the Universe will allow for this to happen.

Hi guys, my name is Laura and I'm new to raw food.
Are you all 100% raw foodists ?
How many of you are there ?
I'm keen to start this way of eating not only to loose weight but to feel great and ALIVE. To jump out of bed instead of wish I could spend another few hours in bed before getting up.
I am keen to meet other raw foodists to learn about this way of eating.
Laura.

Hi Laura, waving hello. Not sure about the Tasmanian statistics, the sample is pretty small lol! Would be lovely to meet up, I am hoping to organize a meet-up at our home some time. Don't you just feel blessed to have discovered this delicious way of living?

Regards,
Gosia

Hello everybody, and Welcome to Laura

I've hardly been online so wanted to check in. Ooh Gosia, a birthday party sounds fun! What is this Tree Day event you speak of? I would love to plant some fruit trees. I was blessed with meeting lovely Lou at the Salamanca markets on the weekend. It reminded me how truly inspiring/freeing it can be to be around like-minded others. I go to the markets every Saturday so if anyone else is ever planning to be around please let me know (with plenty of notice though as I only occasionally use the internet).

Laura, all the best with your goals. I have been very interested in raw for about six months, so am still pretty new to it but am living 100% raw which is amazingly yum, energizing etc. Please don't be intimidated by "how" raw we are though...I'm pretty certain we're all supportive no matter what stage you're at with raw food.

xx

Bonjour !

Thanks for your welcomes  laugh

I'm keen for a meet up, but is it possible to do this on a day that's not a birthday celebration. If not, that's ok, I just thought I would ask, as I don't do birthdays. sorry guys....

At the moment I'm not raw, just eating normally, but my husband and I want to start together ASAP. We're just researching and getting together recipes to make the big jump.....

I have read that eating raw can make you feel the cold more.... do any of you feel that ? Or is that just at the start, I'm not sure. I have been a bit worried about that, in this lovely chilly Tassie weather.

Welcome Laura, and hello to everyone,
Good to have another one joining the raw life.  Lots of exciting discoveries await you!  As for the cold, I feel that anyway.  I think it's a case of getting as much sun as possible, and keeping warm by a fire at night.  I'm told that being raw actually helps to deal with the cold better.  Not able to comment there, my inclination is to head for the tropics about now!
It sounds like a meet-up at Salamanca one day should be possible.  I'm another who spends as little time on the computer as possible.  I would rather be out there breating fresh air!

Jungle, I will check out about the tree planting event when I get back to Tassie and let you know then. I suspect it is about planting regular trees, not fruit trees.

Laura, I simply would love to organize a potluck at our home (it would be the first of them all) at the day that happens to be my birthday, but it wouldn't be a birthday party (no presents or happy birthday songs etc) so no prob.

While in Adelaide I observed that the minimum temperature here has been the maximum in Tassie! evil Me wants tropics... cool
