Hello everyone,

I am very keen on organizing a raw potluck at our home. My first available date is the 3rd of August. Would you be interested and able to make it? (If not, I shall think of another date). We could stuff ourselves with the food, chat and chat and chat, jump on our trampoline, share some gardening tips, recipes etc.

Hi Laura, on the cold front... I first wanted to go raw when I lived in warm Brisbane and working at an organic shop which (at that time) had Brissie's largest range of organic produce. Still I didn't make it and fell back into cooked vegan food for a couple of years. What is actually working for me, a lifelong Queenslander, is eating raw in the middle of a Hobart winter with the right information and plenty of motivation. If you are motivated and have the right information (Ihighly reccommend reading Doug Graham's the 80/10/10 Diet), your circumstances won't define your success. Eating raw food I have plenty of energy to excercise and that helps to keep me warm. I accept things more and see the beauty of the weather more. Raw food doesn't have to be icy either - I tend to take any food in the fridge out a few hours before I eat it as it tastes better at room temp. At first you may be craving hot drinks and foods in cold weather but I think this is largely habitual. If you stick with it, as Jacana said a healthier body will feel the cold less.

Thanks Gosia for the tree planting info! I have been looking around at the fruit trees in nurseries and thinking about what I can do.

I would love to come along on the 3rd! Sounds fantastic! Let me know if there is anything I could do to help it happen. A daytime event would be best for me.

That's great Jungle! I look forward to meeting you! I suggest 12 noon then (is this OK?). If you could bring some food to share please, whatever you wish, that would be great. You can even bring the ingredients for some recipe you would like to share, and we can make it together (I have a food processor, blender, spiral slicer, juicer). I think I've already given you my details (address, phone numbers), but if not, please pm me and I will. Same for everyone else who is planning to come (please let me know if you do).  yahh

Warm regards,
Gosia

The 3rd sounds great Gosia!  I'll be there too, will try to convince the family to come along.  12 noon works for us.  What a party!
