Here is my 2 cents cause I am not an expert;

I would just try to up your water to 2 liters a day for 2 weeks. Maybe take before and after photos see if it makes a difference. You said it yourself in your first post maybe it is just that simple....

Good luck

Can you go on a diet which is free of chocolate and sugar? Has that been low sugar chocolate with those artificial sweeteners or has it been chocolate with vege oil instead of milk fat?

I could go on a diet which is free of chocolate and sugar but don't really see the point.

I hardly eat refined sugar.

I consume natural sugar from fruit and a tiny amount of refined sugar in the odd square of chocolate.

I don't think this small amount will be causing dark circles.

I avoid all artificial sweeteners, especailly after seeing the film Sweet Misery.

Did not work last year when I was forcing myself to consume 2 litres a day but that was before raw.

Maybe lots of water and a high percentage of raw will work.

I really hate the taste of water, that's why I don't drink it as much as I should.

Wish I could find a suitable vegetable juice that is just as good as water.

I've got a few friends that swear by a certain dark circle eye cream that has retinal and vit k in it.  It'also seems to have 100 other things I doubt you would be interested in using it.  The Vit K is the interesting thing - found in spinach and kale, good for strengthening blood vessel which is why it is in the super-duper chemical laden dark eye treatment.  Maybe LOTS of green smoothies rather than the vegetable juice?

Maybe feature is the wrong word, not sure, is just common thats all.

As a suggestion, mine arent as dark and it certainly takes away puffiness if i think to put some rosehip oil under my eyes before bed.

Interesting that it started when you were a teenager, probs hard to go back and analyse this, but if you thought really hard on it, what changed around the time when they appeared? Its possible its hormonal, in which case you could either try herbs (i know not raw) to stabilise hormones, or just give the raw diet time to stabilise them.

If it is hormonal, alcohol, even small amounts will be harmful. I cant tolerate any alcohol anymore because i have a hormone sensitive illness, i choose not to have it and i do better. For me, i also react really badly to cocoa, the only levels of caffeine i can handle is in tea, so no coffee, no chocolate. I do ok on white chocolate but. So even though these things are in small amounts, it could still be enough to tip your hormonal balance enough to create dark circles.

Otherwise, do you do any gentle stretching exercises? I absolutely love yoga, has been really good for my health, one of the few things that made me feel good when i was really sick. I know it seems a strange suggestion, but the stretching can be really good for hormone levels, least it is for me.

RADIO REPORT : Tonight , Monday night, at 8pm on Radio National 576 khz AM (not FM) there is a replay of Monday morning's 'Health Report'.
They said something about 'dark circles' around the eyes being possibly caused by  ' mild allergic rhinnitus'.
Something maybe also about blocked or runny noses.
If you miss it then it might be available on their website after the show finishes , at abc dot net dot au slash rn slash healthreport.
The report says get an allergy test for the above condition from a GP.
But maybe allergies are best cured with a healthier diet and lifestyle instead of the doctor's medication etc?
10% cooked vegan ?-Is that white rice and white bread etc?

Well this is not quite true.

My hubby says the dark circles have gone down dramatically in the last 7 months - since starting raw.

Last night I got out old photos and I can see a huge improvement already. You don't tend to notice changes yourself but other people will often notice what you don't.

I just think I am too impatient.

A very small amount of white rice in the sushi (bite size) mini rolls.

No bread at all.

I could not listen to it, as don't own a radio. I will have a look on their website later.

bill's dark circles fave faded a lot too. But yesterday he needed some dental work done and when he came home the circles were back in full force.  Sad At least we know they will fade again.

was reading a interesting book about nutrition yesterday (not a raw one but with very original carachter and interesting points) where the author explains that cooking in Alluminium is common cause for dark-circles under the eyes...
dont know if taking something like zeolite might help in that way (i just suppose heavy metals might cause it)...
and co-incidence Jennie?? your saiyng he was by the dentist and had dark circles again? perhaps some of the ''stuff'' theyr using is --see the cause of it... thoughts--

I would believe it Ivan. When Bill was a panel beater, about once or twice a year he would get 'metal in the eye' which is an injury where a small particle of metal gets burned onto the eyes surface and needs to be scraped off. To do this they have to numb the eye. Well Bill's eye would swell up for days! Allergic to the anesthetic. So it would not surprise me at all if this were the case.
