After I was sick with Ulcerative Colitis, I put on masses and masses of weight due to the steroids and other drugs I was taking.

I last officially weighted myself on 24th June 2006 and my weight was 84.9kgs.

However, between 24th June 2006 and 1st September 2007, I would have piled on at least 2 more kilos.

I tried several methods to shift that weight. I even joined the local WeightWatchers club, but to no avail.

On 1st September 2007, I started to eat raw.

I am the first to admit I have never done it properly. Still consumed a little bit of meat, still consumed chocolate, still consumed wine and still consumed cooked foods. However, I made a conscious effect to eat as much raw as I could and this commitment intensified after the Christmas break.

In the first three months, I walked for 30 minutes everyday. Lost the plot over Christmas and the New Year but have recently resumed that walking practice.

I was weighed last week and I am now 62kg.

So even though I haven’t been totally focused at being 100% raw, I have lost around 25kg in 7 months.

I don’t want to lose any more overall but I do need to tone up a bit of “jelly belly”.

Anyway I am very impressed with 25kg in 7 months, given the circumstances.

My goodness, can you imagine what I could have achieved (and how quickly I would have achieved it) if I had been 100% raw focused?

I am not trying to blow my own triumph, just posting this here for any newbies who may have a weight issue too.

That's wonderful KK,

I'm very happy for you.  You sound not only happier, but more confident too.

It's wonderful that you are placed in a position where you can empathise with people who have struggled with weight and can give encouragement.  What a beautiful blessing.

Congrats.  You are an inspiration.

Luv

Yeah totally amazing!! Perhaps taking it a bit more gently is a good thing. I know that whenever I "restrict" myself things end badly!! Really well done Smiley  rose

it aint about restriction. its about conviction.ie building our belief sysmtem based on our own personal conclusions.

i see cooked food not as a treat, not as superior. but i see it as what it is. cooked mood food. discipline gets us rolling. seeing things with new eyes keeps us blitz'n.

with better health, weight loss is an added bonus. you never see long term raw fruit addicts with weight problems.
