Thank you Sheryl, I appreciate the information.

I had to come on here quickly to write down what I'd been eating because the eating bug has got to me today.

Wednesday

warmed green tea
pineapple juice
blended pineapple and grapefruit (blender full)
banana
about 8 flax crackers with half an avo and one tomato
6 dates
handful of cashews
6 almonds
water (lots)
banana

I think that's it... wow I really needed to eat this afternoon, could be the cooler weather, it started out quite warm today and then got really cool this afternoon.

Dinner will be warmed soup (I've been promising this for the last couple of days to myself so maybe today is the day)

Ok, bye

Your eating sounds fantastic Lulu

I have never been a big fan of pineapple just because it leaves (sometimes) a funny taste in my mouth that I have actually been told (dont know if it is true) means I am allergic to it. So I so rarely have it..... Dried I dont think I have a problem

Love reading your journal keep up the good work

Pinky I can't eat pineapple in it's naturaly state either (maybe 2 small bits) because it makes my mouth sore but if I blend it up like a juice it's wonderful.

Friday (continued)

6 flax crackers with avo and tom
handful of cashews and other nuts while putting them away
cacao smoothie
mixed salad
more WATER

Feeling great, don't seem to be making any further progress, no noticeable improvements in anything lately.  My skin is really dry and irritable right now and the posoriasis doesn't look good at all.

hi Lu Lu, smiley
I'm eating to heal my psoraisis which i have over about 20-30% of my body, my tummy, back, back of my legs, elbows and knees forehead hairline and right hand - when i write this it sounds really bad and i can quite easily get sad over it!  downcast Rotton thing!-  but I noticed that you are eating a lot of acid foods - oranges, berries, citrus and pineapple.  I just L-O-V-E those food as well, but my skin does not seem to like them.   :battle:I had a some orange juice and some strawbs the other day and my right hand when balistic, cracked and sore and red, so out went the oranges.  After pondering my diet and being prepared to compromise even more to get rid of this problem  I  decided to cut the citrus out completely and minimise the berries to one small serve per day, and, by accident made a salad with lot of celery, carrot and nuts in it (all i had left in the fridge) and my hand went down, the redness faded; I had heard that celery is great neutralizer and have found that since eating lots of celery and carrot juice in the green smoothie and adding celery to as many salads as i can, my psoraisis has started to fade. My right hand has faded to just a small spot on the knuckle and the large spots on my knees has gone down.  The scale has minimised dramatically and the redness is fading.....   :thumbup:I love celery sticks the tender ones, stuffed with almond or maca paste.
Thanks for posting your journal - I have been raw for 45 days started 25th of April, around the same time as you have, I have not focused so much on loosing weight as eating properly and enjoying what i eat and found that I am loosing weight- i am 55 years old and despite my psoraisis, i swim 6 times per fortnight and average a  walk and weights about   4 times per fortnight.  Many times i have not made that average as i have broken a bone in my foot and that stopped the walking for quite a while.  It is starting to come good now yayyy...... acupuncture is marvellous for bruises and ligament damage!  I think i will start my journal on line as well, I have found yours so inspiring and helpfull- so beautifully honest -thank you so much  rose Hope you dont mind the suggestions? smiley

Thank you Frangipanni, all suggestions are welcome in this journal.

My psoriasis is on my legs and the back of both arms and sometimes on the tops of my feet and yes it is awful, my heart goes out to everyone who has it.  I have read that the 'nightshade' group of foods are not good for psoriasis.  I absolutely adore tomatoes and I could not imagine eating raw without them yet I know I will probably have to go without at some stage...at the moment I would probably have 1 - 1.5 per day, with the pineapple, I have never really eaten it before going raw, it just seems to be what my body wants at the moment, I have been having about one a day or every other day for the past couple of weeks and in that time I've also had 1.5 grapefruit and 1 orange all up so I know I haven't overdone those two, lol.  I rarely if ever have oranges and up until the past week or so NEVER eat grapefruit, pretty much the same with berries, only a handful on the odd day in my smoothie which usually gets shared with all the kids so it works out not very many at all.  The only fruit in this category I would have regularly is mandarin and that's only when they are in season, actually we have a tree in the backyard that we have just about picked bare today and I was thinking I would be living off them for this week, lol.  So I'd say yes I'm probably having too much pineapple lately and maybe too many mandies this week coming simply because we have them and it's saves me buying something else.  I never really thought about citrus and my psoriasis, so I thank you for pointing that out to me.  I would love to have celery more than I do which is NEVER as I really hate the smell of it.  Next week I'm doing a fast and hope to sway more towards the vegetable juices rather than citrus and incorporate lots and lots of water so maybe I will gradually add more celery in the juices each day.

A big part of the way I eat is price.  We are a large family on a small budget so I find pineapples at $1 - $2 each are very cheap.

I didn't want to put too many restrictions on my raw eating too early as I want raw to be enjoyable and comfortable (which I feel it is) and gradually over time I hope my body will renew itself and it will 'tell' me what it needs.

Hope all that makes sense...

Saturday

Smoothie, coconut, banana, berries and baby spinach
40 gms dried mango
1/2 apple
banana
flax crackers with avo and tom
handful of nuts (cashew and brazil)
blended pineapple (shared with kids)
mixed salad for dinner
lots water today

83 days for me today (Sunday)

Cacao smoothie
cashews
mandarin to clean out the fudge bowl, lol
banana
flax crackers with avo and tom
brazil nuts (handful)
water, water and more water
dried mango (80) gms
mixed salad will be for dinner

I feel really cold today, got the shivers as I type so I'm off to warm up some green tea to warm me up.

Lulu - my goodness - 83 days and going strong!  I am in awe.  It's funny, I thought of you yesterday when I spotted the dried pineapple as I was poking about in the health food store.  laugh

Have you found that your creativity has increased with raw?

I had a look at the links you posted for your scrapbook designs etc. - it was like a whole other language being spoken there.   laugh

But, I could understand the pictures, and they were lovely.

 -_-Hi again lulu
a juice fast of mainly carrot and celery with granny apples is really good for psoraisis according to 'Lust' an early writer on fasting using juices around the Ehret era, very alkaline and very soothing, other fruits & veg to include are cucumber, zucchini and pear and grapes, watermelon, rockmelon, honey dew,  little  juice from greens.  According to Lust avoid all citrus.   I did  a 3 day water fast last year which i prepared for like this - 2 days carrot, apple and celery juice with some melon - 3 days water - 2 days juices - After the fast my skin was almost nearly clear  -amazing -, then as i gradually introduced a lot of other things and seem to find that any acid foods really react as the acid accumulates in my body.  The Psoraisis returnd because I ate lots of beans and other things that i am finding now irritate my skin so am aiming to eat less and less citrus and acid base fruit.  Have you thought about waiting till summer when things are much cheaper and are in better supply before doing your juice fast?  Just going raw is a huge stress on your body.
Are you taking a multivitamin?  Often it is a good move to take some multi's - a good brand is blackmores.  I am not sure how you are about fish oil, but i was prescribed cod liver oil 3x per day (blackmores is the only one i know of) and i noticed a huge change in myskin when i started taking these it felt softer and more flexible.  The vit a and D are very important to the skin and the A a good help to the immune system.  This problem, as i continue to discover is an immune system problem which starts with the digestive tract and affects all the other main organs , and as we know the skin is an organ as well.
I hope to do a 7 day water fast at the end of july this year - not looking forwardto that - to do it i will go away for 11 days so that i can rest and not be bothered by having to cook - not easy to do if you have little ones and family commitments so juicing is a very good alternative.

Made a beautiful soup today you might like to try (I based this one on one in a  Raw Power recipe book
4 large  carrots juiced
2 stalks celery juiced
1/4 avo
juice 1/4 lemon (yes citrus that will be the only acid for the day)
fresh young coconut meat to taste about 2 tbsp
blend blend blend and enjoy with salt and pepper if you like?

Thanks for popping in and saying hello MissGiggles and Eve, hope your both doing well.

Miss G I do find I'm getting creative again and thank you for the compliment on my pictures

Eve, I am proud of my progress and I'm very thankful, one very important thing I did learn on the 60 days challenge was to be thankful everyday for all the good, so every evening before I go to sleep I give thanks for every good thing that has happened and for every good thing in my life that day.

Frangipanni, thanks for the information on the juices, I will definately try those.  I don't take any supplements at all, I hate tablet taking and I know sometimes they are needed but I just don't take anything.  I do however have half a teaspoon of coconut oil upon rising in the morning and I have about a tablespoon of flaxseed oil on my salads.

Looking at my arms today I think I will ease up on the pineapple this week and try including more vege juices.  I know they are also dry from the cold snap we are having, once again I am sitting here shivering, I'm such a baby with the cold and it really isn't that cold here at the moment.

How lucky you are Frangipanni to go away to fast, I can't even go to the toilet by myself, lol.

I know it would be easier to fast in the summer months, I have chosen July because it feels right and I would like to do another in October too if it feels right.  I will start on the 28th June (because that's when the School Holidays start) and end on about 14th July which is my birthday making it 17 days, that's my plan anyway but if I can only do 10 - 14 days that's good too.  School holidays were always hard for me to be raw in the past because the kids were home all the time and there always seemed to be so much food around that I wanted but this time around it will be good, last school holidays I used it as an opportunity to 'clean up' their eating a bit because it sometimes needs it, lol so I'll do the same this time around.  I've already explained to them that I will be fasting and the reasons for it and they're good with that.  It's also a time of less running around which is good on a fast.

Monday (day 84)

Warmed green tea
2 x bananas

Making some more crackers today so here is what they are made of, very basic really and others add more in like sundried toms etc but I like my food simple.

1 cup flax seeds (soaked for a few hours in 2 cups water)
small handful of chives
about 1/4 lemon juiced
touch vege salt (some people also like soy sauce or tamari)
dehydrate for a few hours until crisp

Once again, these are very plain but I like them.  The first time flax crackers are eaten they are not always liked but my advice is to try them again with different things.

Ok, that was another long post, thanks for reading

 smiley Hi LuLu,
I fondly recall when i could not even go to the toilet alone - and still when i have my little grandson he says 'you dont mind if i cum in wiv ya nan?'  laugh He's such a sweetie.

Have you visited the Dr Fuhrman website or read any info of his?  He specializes in treating auto immune diseases, but the only way to get any real info is to become a member, I have been a member and dont think i will renew membership though the information he gives is very good.

The information that he gives is based upon the information that you can discover by reading the 'masters' of healthy eating - Bragg, Lust, Ehret, Jensen etc.  They pretty well all say the same as you are doing now, fasting, water, juices, exercise and a raw diet with plenty of variety.

My son is a chinese medicine practitioner with 10 years uni behind him and he says "Mum even chinese medicine is hit and miss with treating psoraisis, the best thing to do for your skin is to do what you are doing.'  and that is 'going raw'.  I was so encouraged to hear this.  He is also attending an autoimmune disease seminar shortly so will bring the good news to me he says.  I am pleased to share this with you if you would like?   rose

Funny thing last week i found i was unbelievably cold as well,  I woke at night shivering two nights in a row.  I guessed that i had either not had enough to eat or needed some fruits or nuts with some more fats in them.... Last night i had to have the electric blanket on to keep warm.  I have not been like this ever that i can recall where the cold seems to come from the inside... Up till going raw i have had the opposite problem with the proverbial hot flashes.....55.  I started menopause 7-8 years ago - thank goodness that is all over and done with! Since being raw my body seems to be cooling right down.  With chinese medicine My son said that my body was too hot - which in naturopathic terms means too acidic, he said that i should not eat any acid foods etc and avoid things like onion and garlic - ohhh noooo I just love them.  Since being raw i have not stopped all of them but minimised how much i eat of them.

I have set aside 24th July to fast so will follow your blog and encourage you in your fast.  We are doing it the hard way but with psoraisis there really is no other way............ for a cure.

Monday breaky
blueberry flax seeds, almond milk, banana and date smoothie - yummmmy.
I have done a cost analysis on almond milk to normal milk - using normal south Aust almonds if i make 1 litre of almond milk it costs near the same price as normal milk and is yummy as a "warmed hot chocolate".  If you need the recipe i can post it for you?

Will make the flax crackers when i go home, I am away at present hence the time to blog a lot.... laugh
this is another long one too....

Hi Frangipanni, I would love to hear what your son has to say  ohyeah I don't eat onion and garlic much at all, alot of people put these into their crackers but I can't, just don't like the flavour of them raw.  I do however eat some spring onion on my salads sometimes.

Monday (rest of)

Lots water (running to toilet all day)
crackers with avo and tom
handful of cashews and brazil nuts
fudge
mandarin
mixed salad for dinner

Tuesday (day 85)

Rockmelon blended to smoothie
cacao smoothie
warmed green tea
banana

Here is a picture of a normal mixed salad for me, it varies slightly, I might have avo one night and mushroom the next etc.

Very simple really, the second photo has my hand in it so you can see the serving size, please excuse the chipped plate, when you have teenagers doing the dishes they don't stay good for very long, lol.
