Hi,

I have read a few posts about the Five Tibetan Rites and was wondering if these are in the same category as yoga ie. flexibility (although it didn't look too flexy on you tube - anyone seen that guy in the blue speedos on the beach doing the rites at record speed?  rofl)

And, if anyone could tell me if they need to be done daily to experience benefits? Or can they be alternated with yoga.

Would also love to hear any experiences or health benefits discovered from others who love the five tibetan rites.

Cheers,
Steve.

Thanks Jennie,

That was a great thread - I read it all and I just realised that the tibetan rites is a form of yoga (insert 'embarassed' smiley icon here)!

Cheers,
Steve.

Luke/Dmetri has been practising the Five Tibetans for a year or so now - I'm sure he'd love to share his experiences - he's pretty clear on the benefits he's had Smiley  Though he's on his way back up north now so not sure when he'll be avail to respond...

hey guys have been practicing t5t's for a year every day and the benefits are amazing...i feel it opens all my chakras every day...has strengthened my body further...

i can do the full five in under five mins...thats without meaning to do them fast...i just do...sometimes i make myself do them slower...but i like the empowered and energised feeling of doing them quite swiftly...oftne i will do them twice a day....have done them 4 times in a row before as a form of a twenty min workout.....but its not meant to be seen as a workout in my opinion...they are much more than that

i have done the sixth rite too...but dont feel the desire to do that really....and i dont particularly enjoy it...makes me feel very light headed....

Hey Neet, would you recommend waiting until you've been doing the rites for some time slowly before doing them fast?

I did the five Tibetans yesterday and Wednesday and I felt like I was going to puke during the exercises even when I slowed them down. Got so bad that I was just lying on the floor between exercises trying not to vomit lol. I'm pretty fit and used to do yoga so I don’t think its lack of exercise. Does this mean I'm still doing them too fast or could it be detox or maybe I'm doing them wrong?

I tried doing them a little while ago. Think it was too soon for me for my energy levels, plus i hurt my back a little, i had some good days and thought i was up for it, i wasnt.

I still do the spinning one some mornings but, a few spins is energising.

trick is if you feeling squeamish dont do the 21 reps straight off, start with as little as 6 or 10 and work up...you will laugh when i did my first lot i did 25 reps each...just to prove i could, well the next day could hardly move, and certainly not cos i was unfit.....

it stimulates your body in a way not many other movements of the body can!

the original book recommends to start of with three rounds of each exercise and go up two rounds per week until you get to 21. I think it really works the lymph system and detoxes quite powerfully.

The first time I did it, it was in the evening and I couldn't sleep, I was buzzing!
