Hi All

I was just wondering rolleyes what your thoughts were about those new gizmo vibrational exercise machines?
I was at the easter show at sydney recently and i tried one it felt good afterwards you know the feeling you get when you get a professional massage.

Anybody care to shed any light on these gizmos?

Cheers

Alegne,
I know a woman in her 70's that has used one for about 6 months - she says she has increased her muscle mass with it...she loves it.  It doesn't give you a cardio workout though.   Smiley

Thanks for your reply Sanghama

I was just worried all that shimmming around with electrical stuff might be bad for us thats all. Sometimes I think I am my own worst enemy being TOO cautious with things.

When I asked the lady at the store she only recommends 10 min mornings and nights at a time .

Personally I wouldnt replace exercise with this gizmo I would just add to it as a feel good medium. Smiley

I tried one at the last MBS. Absolutely no idea what it did (they did explain it but it sounded very mumbo jumbo) but I felt really good afterwards. The machines starting price was $800 and they were trying the “hard sell” on me, so I didn’t hang around for too long. Word of Warning: Ladies, if you are going to have a go, wear a sturdy bra or face serious possible embarrassment.  laugh

nothing replaces the longterm benefits of hard, consistent and persistent effort.

This is similar to the one I tried out but the one I tried was a lot bigger and more bulky.

I have found a great website that discusses  Whole body vibration machines and the crazy fit machines are no good for anything but massage and relaxation. They tell us that for one the crazy fit machines ar every cheap because the motor in them does not allow the machine to reach a Hz (speed) level of more than 18 HZ. All the studys out there done on tilting vibration plates like the crazy fit say that machines need to reach at leat 26 Hz for muscle tone and training! The crazy fit machines also do not show the speed in Hz they usually show the speed in level from 1-50 or 1-30 and these are usleess if you have reseached at all the industry before buying a machine and found out that Vibration training is frequency specific, meaning there are recommended speeds Hz that are best suited for differnt results. That being, balance, relaxation, training muscles, and toning muscles. I would strongly recommend you look at the website www.hypervibe.com.au they have great information and also sell an instructional DVD which has been designed by health experts.
