Hi everyone

I'm a 22 year old newbie here.  In August I was diagnosed as having IBS.  This was almost after a year of suffering/numerous medications/tests etc.

I have found that switching my diet has relieved some of my symptoms; however, since doing so I have found that my big daily salad/seed intake may have been aggravating the problem.

So my questions are, is anyone here an IBS sufferer and are there any raw foods you find aggravate your gut?.

xx

Hi Dandys, welcome to the forum. IBS can be helped with a raw food diet. But it takes time and it takes discipline. I suggest you read posts by RawGreenGoddess (by Neet) as she has had phenomenal results with IBS. She had a big flare up 7 months ago and is doing really well.

Best wishes...

hey there...yup,go buy yourself self healing colitis and crohns disease by David Klein...and read it over and over...i have healed my body again...from bleeding ulcerative colitis, from a foolish(yes raw food error, raw chilli and wasabi...yes i was in a self loathe phase,,) now im all fabulous and on top of the world, still healing in progress...but have all my energy and zest for life back again

only took me 6 months of incorporating some steamed veg into my high raw diet...essentially it needs to be low fat!and high fat.....

Hey Neet, Does David also cover Diverticular Disease/ diverticulitis in that book? My mum who has been doing raw for the last 2 years (initially because of cancer but that has all but disappeared) was recently diagnosed with this but it is due to a congenital problem - she was born with a large section of her colon missing. I've advised to her up her greens in the form of smoothies etc and cut out the nuts for a bit (one of her vices) but I am curious to hear what (or if) David Klein says about it and whether I should get her this book.

Thanx.

That's such great news about your mum's disappearing cancer. Phew! What a great woman. She will find what's right for her. It is a very good book. I've sent out many copies to family and friends...
