Sorry - not a raw related question......

I wonder if there is any vets, doctors or cats experts on this site.

If so, perhaps you would be kind enough to answer a question for me.

Are there any diseases (apart from that cat litter to pregnant women one) that can be transmitted between cats and humans?

Last night I fell asleep and woke up to my cat licking my lips ~ God knows where her tongue has been recently.

This evening, I fell asleep in front of the TV and then woke up. Upon waking, I drank my glass of water before my husband had chance to warn me not to drink out of it. Apparently my cat had been up on the table, licking and drinking the water out of my glass.

Given that I saw the cats licking each others bottoms earlier – I am feeling quite nauseous now.

So apart from the disease that can be spread to pregnant women from litter trays, are there any other diseases that can be passed between cat & human?

Many thanks

Well since no-one on here knows the answer, I finally asked my vet last week.

Apparently colds, flus and general germs can’t be passed between humans and cats.

However, pregnant women need to be careful when changing cat litter trays:

I am not an expert but my own experience if dogs and cats like human eat healthy like they were suppose to eat in nature they will not carry diseases. At the same if the humans eat a healthy diet the inmune system will protect them from any diseases.
Now if we do not live in an ideal world there are a lot of natural herbs that will boost our inmune system.
