Hi Jim,

Yes he has. When someone goes outside of forum guidelines then there is no other option. After many many emails, discussions and warnings, Raw Pleasure finally took action. We could see no other option at this stage.

Our relationship with Harley is by no means over. We look forward to his around Australia trip and when he does starts it will let everyone know.

Oh, that's a shame Sad  I can understand why, but I think it was good for him to have some people questioning him, even though some considered it anti-Harley.  I hope he finds an outlet that can cope with him in informative and overhyped mode, or he shifts to informative and hyped mode, rather than overhyped, and will probably find many outlets open up.

i find that hard to believe harley is the best poster on the site and he is the most passionate as well . it was called harleys thread and if you didn't want to be offended then you didn't have to read it or post on it ? I think it is very unfair.

Hey Simon, you are probably not the only one who feels this way. Harley is passionate, fun loving and pretty awesome in many ways. This is not about who he is this is as a person, this is about guidelines being constantly stepped outside of. There have been many reminders given for years. Yes this was his thread but, as has been posted, the guidelines are here for everyone and that included Harley. Not for everyone except a chosen few.

I hope you understand.

I think, that this conclusion is missleading.

It might get satisfaction to antiHarleys, and it might create the falls sense, that people actually know why Harley was banned.
It also can create the precedense for shooting the messenger attitude.

Would be good for forum, if the exact reasons were speled out clearly,

it was not on the count of hugs vs kick in teh arse issue.

Was Harley banned for writings posted on this thread? Or something he said elsewhere on RP?

I don't know the exact guidelines, but I read every thing he wrote the last few weeks on this thread and can't see what he possibly said that would have RP take the drastic measure of shutting him down.

If he was shut down for what he said here, this would be a case of unnecessary censorship, plus intolerance of a far worse kind than any thing Harley has been accused of.

Harley is straight-forward, rhetorically funny, and yes, inspiring.  If any one didn't care for his style, they could easily have changed the channel.

This seems to be a case of pandering on RP's part to a few vocal thin-skinned individuals to the detriment of the many who enjoyed Harls's insights and the witty way he presented them.

In my humble opinion, this is a sad day for Raw Pleasure.

the decision to ban Harley has been made - I don't know the reasons behind it and nor do I care to.

So we can blame the decision and decisionmakers - totally unfair as no-one can understand the whole story.....or we can choose the outcome as being good, bad, or 'just is'....and I'm a 'just is' kinda girl LOL.

One of my favourite Monty Python quotes comes to mind "He's not the Mesiah, he's a very naughty boy"   Wink

take care Harls

Hi Rudy and Brian811rv,

Sorry for my delayed reply. I took some time out with my kids this morning and it was lovely.

I am not going to post here specifically the rules Harley broke again and again and it's never been the policy of Raw Pleasure to do so.  Harley knows why this has happened and so do we. There are some who can see it clearly and others who cannot see it at all.

To address another issue that has been asked by email, why was this not announced? We never announce a ban because it would be embarrassing to the person whose account had been discontinued.  I don't know any forum that would announce something like that. It's just as well we didn't anyhow, Harley's email address for his Durianrider account  was not current and if we'd announced it he would have been the last to know. He would have found out through the forum which would have been awful.

This seems to be a case of pandering on RP's part to a few vocal thin-skinned individuals to the detriment of the many who enjoyed Harls's insights and the witty way he presented them.

In the past we have often been accused of pandering to Harley and his supporters. Now we are being accused of the opposite. I'm sorry you feel that way. As Harley has said though he posts on many forums. This is just one. I'm sure you will continue to enjoy his postings elsewhere. Personally, I'm hoping that he starts a blog. He definitely has friends who could help him set it up and he could say whatever he wanted too... it would be great!

In my humble opinion, this is a sad day for Raw Pleasure.

Yup it's always a sad day when someone leaves the forum whether it's by their choice or ours. It's never something that is taken lightly. This type of thing is never fun.

I don't think there is anything else to be answered here. I won't be posting on this thread much from now on.

Thank you.

Harley banned... i was surprised reading among the lines yesterday...
would like to know from Harley personally what happened...
If anyone btw reads among the lines and knows about i'd ask you to e-mail me about (or pm)....
i guess we have the right to know why people have been banned .... not to certainly argue about Jennie,,, just to know..............

Considering the number of posts I've contributed to this thread, I have to assume I'm one of those few vocal ones.  This is the first time I've been called thin skinned, my approach must obviously be softening up! I'll take it as a compliment, thank you yahh

** I hope the Harley “groupies” don’t take offense, as that is not my intention.

I originally thought that Harley would make an excellent teacher (or as I once joked, a Guru) as he knows a lot.

However, since he told me to give up raw because I would not succeed......JUST......because I questioned him and didn’t want to exactly follow his / Dr Dougs advice, I now view him as more of a dictator.  laugh

You should have called the forum “80 10 10 – as channelled by Harley”

Anyway I am sure he will be back one day, as (what is that expression) you just can’t keep a good dog down.

** P.S. Before I start getting hate mail, I mean this is the nicest possible way ~ I am only teasing.

Hi there!

I've got to say its a real shame....not only for RP but especially for the people who come to this forum searching for the rawpath/life that suits them who appreciate different perspectives & knowledge... isn't that what makes life colourful & exciting? Different views, opinions etc & everyone having the freedom to express them?

Everytime Harley & I used to mail-drop various vegan-friendly/health-improving material he always used to write www.raw-pleasure.com.au on the back....I asked him 'how long have you been doing that?' he said 'for years', he was very methodical about it, not ever forgetting to write it.  My mind boggles at the number of people he has probably put onto this site & the raw lifestyle.

Harley doesn't attack anyone as u can see from his posts but he is a genuine caring person who has a unique (thank god his different!) style.  His message ruffles too many feathers, makes people uncomfortable & worst of all....threatens beliefs (people have been hung for less) his message carries a lot of truth & passion that is misinterpreted as egotistical.  I thought he had a massive ego initially (which is my problem not his) then first hand watched him passionately help so many people on & off the net, no matter who they were they got exactly the same treatment from his heart....it is beautiful to watch & vital to this world which routinely would rather pull high achieving passionate people down (who stray from the herd) & forcibly try to change them & pull them back into line...then to nurture their individuality.  I guess thats pack mentality but we're more conscious than that aren't we???.

The number of people whom have been emailing Harley in disbelief is amazing & a sure sign of his positive influence. Im quite curious as to what 'rules' he broke too so myself & others can avoid breaking them ??....but come to think of it anymore 'rule-breaking' Im sure is unlikely to happen for most as exile from the herd is the scariest of all....don't dare stray from the pack. Our conditioning & to a certain degree instincts tell us that it will equal pain as unfortunately events like this reinforce this notion by creating fear in one expressing themselves fully......think it but don't ink it.
Does individuality=censorship?.

Not many have the courage to march to the beat of their own drum....Harley is such a person.

If any one didn't care for his style, they could easily have changed the channel.

Not really, I use "recent posts" to catch up on messages
it doesn't filter this thread out

Harley is surely entertaining, but his insistence on perfection* can be discouraging
