Hi
I'm hoping you can help me. I am trying to find some more info about raw food, particularly in Brisbane. My fiance and I have moved up from Sydney and are new to Raw food and Brissey. I'm lost and cant seem to find a good health food shop near buy to point me in the right direction. We live on the northside, by strathpine, which probably doesn't help......

Do you know of any local courses etc where we can learn more?
We have questions about raw food in gnl?
Do you know any good consultants or courses?
What about farmers markets?

There is really so much to learn and the web has heaps of info but it's hard to know which books are really the good ones to buy, same with courses etc.

Hi Mishka - I can't help on the lowdown for Brisbane either, but just wanted to say "welcome".

By the way, I love your screen name - I am a huge Taikoz fan too!

As for books and general raw information, there are as many "ways" to do raw as there are individuals.  Reading as much as you can on the net will help.  Concepts and approaches will be offered, and you can see what "vibes" with you.  Many raw foodists have blogs that go into great detail of their journey.

There is a wealth of information on this forum, and mention of most of the raw "gurus" in some shape or form.  It's really just a matter of diving in.

Hi Taikoz,

Nice to 'meet' you. In Brisbane there are the Northy St Markets in Windsor every Sunday. There you can get great organic cane juice, vegies, fruit and there's a fabbo stall there called "from earth and water" who are friends of ours. They have all raw organic cakes, cookies, pizza's conversation, ice-cream and if they are not too busy Nicky will talk your ear off!

Also we have raw picnics every month and pot lucks every second month at my house on the Gold Coast. If you are interested pm me your email and I'll send you out a calendar for the rest of the year. The next picnic will be the second Saturday in June at Daisy Hill Koala Park in Logan. It's about halfway between Brissy and the Gold Coast.

I'd love to meet you.
