I think there is a vegan source of collagen (from wheat) that some companies use but I'm not sure how much. I feel like calling the hospitals and demanding the $ from the sales of my kids placenta's.... I wonder how much they get.

I thought I was about as over the western medicine community as I could get but I am even further disillusioned with how low they will stoop for $.

I heard that they have a glue that they use in surgeries to mend bones that is made from human cadaver bones and from parts of a pig (maybe the gelatin???) as well. And they don't tell vegan's or vego's before they use it.

I'm sorry, but I would rather my leg heal all wonky than to have it glued together with the bones of  a dead person I never met. Now where did I read that? I need to write my sources for all of this stuff.

Modified to split topic... split botched! Now I know how to do it. This thread has one missing post which is HERE.

Sorry Georgia!

then again, i think i'd rather dead humans being used by science than them killing animals for it.

i also wonder if you know that several vaccines are produced in a medium of aborted fetus cells. so do any of you still want to vaccinate your children??

Blerk and blerk again. I did not know that. I did wonder what they did with them...

Apparently that's one of the uses when a person donates their body to science or medical facility. Not nice eh!

Does anyone else here think this topic should be split? It's going right away from the original and beautiful question asked? I think I will...

Interesting! Although it is quite macabre on one level, on the other I am a very committed organ donor and would be pleased to think of my bits and pieces being used to fix someone's bones after an accident or to help them keep active into a lovely old age!
