Theres a solution for everything
Here is a recipe for an all natural bug repellant

4 drops eucalyptus essential oil
4 drops rosemary essential oil
4 drops tea tree essential oil
2 teaspoons witch hazel
8 teaspoons distilled water

Combine all essential oils and distilled water in a dark colored spray bottle and shake well. Spray mixture directly on exposed skin. Be careful to not spray near the eyes or mouth.

I use to use a home-made mozzie repellent that was similar but also had citronella oil and a touch of dettol in it.

It was certainly much more natural than that horrible commercial RID but it didn’t work 100% ~ although Vitamin B12 tablets did work 100%.

Does your spray work for mozzies or just bugs?

My vote for essential oils for bug repellents are blue cypress and kunzea, bit harder to find but worth the effort, and they're both Australian.

Kunzea was originally called tick bush by Europeans when they first came to Australia, all the animals sitting under the bush were covered in ticks, so they thought it was attracting the ticks.  The animals were actually going under the bush to get rid of the ticks, they disliked the bush so much they'd jump off.

Blue cypress is great for keeping flies off and it's the only natural thing I've found that keeps paper wasps away from somewhere they've started building a nest, otherwise they just keep coming back every full moon...
