My son keeps telling me to get a laptop because he wants this one to himself, grrrr.

He told me why Apple is better, can't remember now, I'll track him down and ask him tonight.  His girlfriend just got one, she is using it for graphic design and is pretty happy with it.

i have an apple macbook and i'd definately recommend them. they're like the raw vegans of the computing world. they're also supposed to be more environmentally friendly. go to the education store online and you can pretend you're a uni student to get a discount from what i've heard. personally i find apple's much better than working with windows with all the system crashes and need for drivers to install camera's ect. but its up to you.

Before you rush into such a decision there's a number of things you need to consider.

Primarily...what do you want to use your computer for?

A quirk of history has landed us with the PC...anyone who knows what they are on about will tell you Macs are superior in many ways....but ....it aint quite as simple as that....

If you're into high-end graphics and sound production and the like you would go with a mac....if not...the PC could be a better alternative. Choosing a Mac will limit your access to a lot of software and some hardware.

At any rate you can purchase Macs these days that will run both Operating Systems which kind of blows that argument out of the water.

Macs are more expensive.

Don't even get me started on Vista....

When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light,
for your life, for your strength.
Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living.
If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

thanks guys! gr8 feedback

Yes I strongley agree that MAC is a stronger machine!

The Vista Issue is another issue too!!! I work at a university and the IT crew tell me stay clear of it I am waiting for an official email 4 them to tell me what software its not compatible with.
All companies out there are flogging ALL new laptops with it its a joke!!!

I am about 95% mac covinced. The only thing I am worrying about is my budjet and I want to run the Mac programs ( ie learning the mac way  I should be able to cope they also offer free courses) dont want to run the mac version of windows I figure if I go mac i go mac all the way.

For what I want to use it use ie basic internet and home use it should be ok.

Plus I heard in a thread that DW ( my raw hero Smiley ) mentioned that the Apple Offices in the US have a RAw cafeteria ...so I guess they are on a better wavelength that the WIndows mob  rofl .
I still thing an Apple a day....Smiley

I will let you know what I end up buying but I also heard that apple might have new products coming out soooo thast why I dont want to rush.
thanks again folks
