I just wanted to let Freelea know that I will be thinking and visualizing a safe and adventurous journey as she takes this trip of personal self growth and challenge...cycling to GC in a month...

Oh Berry you are beautiful! Thankyou so much for your well wishes, constant support and hospitality,  they mean a lot to me. It has been so amazing meeting you and your lovely family...especially seeing Tiff take on Mcdonalds all by herself!  I can't wait to be back in Adelaide for summer to share loads of figs with you, take care always & thankyou... Thanks Girls I feel blessed to have such lovely people in & out of my cyber life!
Maybe I will post my progress on this thread with photos etc.  Was going to leave today but I just got my new bivy bag yesterday and I've got it on the line- off gassing, it really smelt toxic when I unfolded it .
Also ended up getting a very slim blow up mat to go under bivy, I would rather not use one but I'm predicting some cold nights so keeping me off the ground will help heaps.
I actually have been feeling a little under the weather due to some miscombining so I decided to recover and be fresh for the trip.

The mat is a good idea. I remember once sleeping in the Styx Forests in Tasmania and I was FREEZING the whole night! My god! It was truly cold! Was all huddled up to the side of my tent in all my clothes. Damn! Are you taking thermal? Hope that you have! Otherwise, I know that all your carbs will help to keep you warm at night!
