Hi people afro

I havent yet posted anything on the website, but preferd to watch, read and absorb what everyone else experianced.
Iv recently made the decision to go raw 11 days ago, withot one single cooked thing in between!!!
I made an attempt a few days earlier of going raw but sipped in a very heavy cooked vegan meal, and sufice to say...got REALLY REALLY SICK afterwards.
Iv had headaches, lots of elimination, emotional momments and sea-saw energy levels over the last days.  Today I feal normal again, and I think Im definently on my path to giving up raw foods 90-100%!
On friday were having dinner for work and I intend to eat indien ( bit scared actually!!), so this will be a reality test to see if it really does upset my body.  I feal alot more sensitive to everything now since going raw...pollution, peoples persona, light and smells.

Hello Mikkeliene,

i have just read your first entry and like you I am new to this board. Its always nice to read other peoples stories.

When one iss starting on raw, some people like to transition slowly, while others just jump in. Whatever you do is ok. Coming to raw foods is a bit daunting. Not only to make the decision in the first place, but also to tell ones family and friends about it. Thats the only really hard part. Often people think you will die on this type of eating plan. They just don't realise that the standard diet IS killing people.

How di your Indian dinner go? Please take time to write about it soon.

Hi Jocelyn

Thanks for your email, my Indian dinner went OK, although my stomach was a little upset and I really fealt that it took forever to digest...whereas before that was normal, after my 2 week raw clean, I really fealt the difference!
Since then I have moved to New Zealand and had my birthday... so I have been eating alot of cooked and processed things.  My body has suffered becouse of it, and I do feal worse than I did when I thought it was NORMAL.   huh
Anyway, I can see it will be a long process as there is many things that I am still addicted too and have to change slowely.  I know raw is the way for me to go, so eating cooked is purely for the tase satisfaction.
My family totally support it, it helps that I have a vegan father and a vegetarian mother!!!  I might even be able to convince my dad yet!

I LOVED the photos you sent - thank you for sharing. I'd love to see New Zealand some day soon! We'll let you know when we're stopping by - maybe you can show us your favourite places. I'm so glad you came for dinner before you left!

Cheers,

its a slow path.

keep doing what your doing and youll keep getting what your getting.

do what everyone else does and get what everyone else gets.

every disciplined effort is met with multiple reward.

add so much magic in your life that anything less than optimum just wont fit.

some one asked mike tyson why he was so good.

he said"i throw every punch with mean intentions!!"

eat food with meaning. with lifeforce. food you truly want to eat. that allows you to become who you truly want to be.

different food creates different thoughts.

different thoughts create diffent actions.

different actions create different directions.

different directions create a different destiny.

are your food choices helping your create your true destiny.?

enjoy the emotional roller coaster. your in the fun park of llife and if you continue coasting on raw , soon youll need to grab the oxygen mask as you fly so high.....

raw foods is magic. if you want a life of magic, this path is for you.

  Durian Rider :

Impressive!  Eloquently put in all the finest simplicity of plain everyday language:

"eat food with meaning. with lifeforce. food you truly want to eat. that allows you to become who you truly want to be.

different food creates different thoughts.

different thoughts create diffent actions.

different actions create different directions.

different directions create a different destiny.

are your food choices helping your create your true destiny.?

raw foods is magic. if you want a life of magic, this path is for you."  - DurianRider

Mikkeline, you will lose the "taste" for cooked food if you give yourself half a chance...i guess you need to ask yourself the serious question-do you really want to eat 100% raw vegan,do you want to eat without pain and indigestion problems? If so embrace raw and never look back... Smiley

As our buddy DR says, keep doing what you're doing and you'll keep getting what you're getting...pretty straight forward and basic really..

You make raw vegan your own descision you do it only for you-and we are all here to help you on your journey... cheesy
and i tell you, this is an awesome and amazing way to live...1 and half years on and i am so excited about what the next year will bring..

Embrace it or else you will struggle, unfortunately it's not something that you can do half hearted or you will be prone to slipping back into cooked food, cos it seems so much easier..

Peace to you....

 evil

Thanks for the replys everyone!  Yes Iv been totally off track since moving, yuck I feal gross and had bad integestion last night.  Iv started to make some raw things for the family though, yummy cashew cheescakes and different salads, dads starting to embrace it and see that its wronge.  Geejus its hard when they have all this addictive food in the cupboard and make vegan BBQ'S!
Its true what you write Harley...I know its not rocket science, in fact its pritty simple.  The results speak for themselvs.  One huge plus though, is the food that is in season here...plums, apricots, all the greens etc....are really really tasty!  That volcanic soil certainly does make a difference.  I just have to learn to live without my beloved mangoes, and tropical fuits.  All fruit that gets imported are heavily fumigated!  Even some of the legumes that come from other countries are heat treated?
Anyway its learning to adjust in another country!  Thanks for all the support everyone.  Im just saving up to buy some raw books...once I have them at my disposal...I hope to not run out of ideas, becouse thats the main problem now.  Im getting board of what Im eating...time to buy some kitchen equipment!

i think the answer to ALL the worlds problems is raw veganism. death, pain, fire , destruciton...

and its so simple that its over looked. humans are addicted to materialism and nutritional materialism is the worst i reckon. numbers, percentages, ratios, blood types, shoe sizes, chopstick length and who knows what next!

listen to your body. let your heart guide you through the dark , lonesome oceans of confusion. the heart knows best.

when you associate more pain than pleasure to cooked poison then you have really entered the path to becoming your true self.

doing what you truly want to do, be, love, see, dream, create.......

cliimb the highest peaks with mother natures nuturing hand....

traverse the darkest valleys with the radiant glow of raw plant foods...

burn out the system that tries to burn you.

Miss Bliss and DurianRider put things so eloquently and what they say is so true.  The longer you eat just raw the less you are tempted by cooked food.  When my family eats pasta, bread etc now I have no desire for it and it tastes bland.  I find myself more vulnerable to cooked food when I am hungry or stressed.  If I eat a great raw feast I am so satisfied that cooked food doesn't appeal to me.

Hi there !

I live on the south Island, Lyttelton ( near Christchurch ), and Hamilton is on the north island...quite far away!  Its a pitt though, becouse I dont know any raw foodies here, met a few vegetarians and fewer vegans, but thats the way it is when you move somewhere.
Its a beautiful place with beautiful fruit and veg ( if its not imported! )
