Dr Bernard Rimland compared 1591 children treated with drugs to 191 treated with nutrition. The nutritional approach was found to be 18x more effective.

Why are we still using drugs as our first means of treatment?

Other studies in prisons found up to 35% decreases in violence when nutrition was improved.

Eating well and feeling our families a broad range of nutrition is one of the best things we can do for their wellbeing.

How many different fruits and vegetables did you eat today?

In health,

My eldest girl is super reactive to anything chemical wise in her food. Some organic breads I have bought contain the preservative 282. Well, she starts bouncing around like she just can't stop. I stopped the bread and the behaviour stopped as well. She is naturally a very active girl. So, I've found putting her into a sport of her choice (last year it was tennis, this year skipping - gets rid of all that bouncing before she gets home  cheesy) works effectively.

A friend of mine has a young boy that is very badly behaved at school and she has put him on something. He takes one pill a day. She said it has completely changed his behaviour. Meanwhile she buys huge boxes of potato crisps from Big W and a lot of his food is refined/processed.

My daughter had 100x more energy than my brother's child. They are in the same class at school. When the bell rings and I have to pick her up, they are both running across the oval, hands held. My daughter more or less pulls her cousin along. And, my niece complains that my daughter runs too much. I recently found out from my sister-in-law that my niece has never NEVER eaten a piece of fruit. She has taken one bite of an apple and didn't like it. She has never tried kiwi, strawberry, mango, passionfruit. My sil says that she is spoiled, drinking 1 litre full fat milk a day and eating chips, lollies, white bread and snacks. That isn't spoiling to me, but killing. They drink softdrink by the bucketload. My niece drinks a lot of coke. Her skin is pasty white and she is overweight for her age. Her features are overshadowed by pudgy cheeks and irritability.

When she came to my place and all I had was a HUGE platter of fruit and veges in the fridge, she wouldn't touch anything. She wanted milk. I didn't have any. I asked her if she would like a banana and strawberry smoothie and her face screwed up. I asked her if she would like some chopped up fruit and veg. She just stared at me as if I'd grown horns. My youngest brother says that my nephew and niece's first time to not eat white bread, but grain whole wheat organic was at my house - age 9.

Cooked foods/processed/refined foods lead to many differences between the two. I think it an amazing legacy to leave your children with the love of natural food.

Thankfully I grew up in an eera when food was food and we knew the differences between food and treats. Now it seems that everyone just eats treats and no one eats food anymore. You cannot blame the children for this as its the parents job to teach them what to eat. Now even the parents have no idea and are as brainwashed as the kids are.

Many parents give into their kids whining and are content to allow them to eat whatever and whenever they want.

I am thankfull that my mother loved fruit and instilled that in me.

in the post office today, and a little boy is eating some terrible looking blue icecream, made me cringe i couldn't look,at that poor little boy with all that blue coloring all over his poor little face..

in the organic shop yesterday, and a mature lady is buying her espom salts,(and pastie and sausage roll) at the same time, and saying how mahvellous the espom salts are for detoxing the body and drawing the toxins out,i nearly nawed off my tongue,to prevent myself for saying,so why are you putting that s&^*t into your body if you want to detox...argh! i think the flourid faced shop keeper may have booted me out,and i like buying my produce from there, argh!!!!

thankfully even amongst the cooked sludge and dead animals i was bought up eating,(ewww) mum did believe in fruit and dad did have a vegie garden, got to be thankful for small mercies, even though there was always sponge cake and scones and other abominations...

We've talked about this on another list and most agreed that feeding your children junk food constantly with no nutritional foods at all is child abuse. Raw parents have had their children taken away for following a raw diet and yet parents can feed their kids all the processed salty sugary crap they want and keep their children. It is a sad state our world is in.

Its interesting to see people who come in to the gym and use it as justification to go home and quantities of crap then complain to us why they arent seeing any results!!
So yes i think its the parents resbonsibility what they feed their kids, But its overwhelming to see and hear all the parents and people in general who have no concept of what is healthy and what isnt.
Personaly i think advertising has done an awesome job at blurring the lines with their facts and figures, nutrisionist say this and nutrisionist say that.
However talk to a nutrisionist who actualy knows their stuff and they'll never put there name next to 99.9% of this advertised crap.
Even with all of our 'medical advancements' the worlds getting sicker and fatter and fatter and fatter, Only when its too late will they act.

Im so glad im RAW and there are people out there and on this forum who know a better way.....
Keep up the good work guys

and ignore the snickers from those that don't know any better and don't want to listen or learn! they drain my positive energy and I take pleasure in ignoring them.

time will tell, us and our families will still be jumping for joy for years to come.......then they will wish they'd taken notice.....and being the people we are we will help them.

It's just great that we have each other on this forum...because the truth is we do like to talk about how great it is when we only eat wholesome healthy raw food and would love to help all....i love to help those that want to be helped!

I have to say that proper nutrition for kids is something close to my heart.  It never ceases to amaze me that the kids playing up in the supermarket are the ones with the parents pushing the trolley full of junk.  I mean real junk...... frozen pies and pizzas, chocolate, lollies, softdrink.  The size of some of these kids sickens me, and then there's the medication to settle their ADD or ADHD or whatever.  The kid that used to live next door when I was growing up was just mental and than his mum discovered with the help of a paediatrician he had a "food allergy".  So he wasn't allowed icecream or chocolate or cordial.  HELLOOOO!!!!   That's no food allergy.... it's nature's way of telling you that your poisoning your children.  Ok that's my rant for today..... it was spawned by reading in the Sunday Times this morning that WA are kids are the fattest in Australia.

Fruit time.... I can see that there are a few ripe ones in the big box or organic bananas Jen bought.

I saw a girl about 8 or 9 the other day - not overweight compared to some kids but certainly on the podgy side and judging by the adults with her, who I assume to be family, heading towards a weight problem in later life. Anyway, she was proudly wearing  a t-shirt saying "I love cookies chips and cake." I just thought "you poor thing - they don't love you." Why would someone buy that for their kid? I have to say, I was much happier in my PETA t-shirt that has an adorable pig saying "no, I don't have any spare ribs!"  cheesy

i looked after a youngster with 'hyperactivity'. well his underactive parents thought so anyway. i gave him some fruit and we went to a loooooooooooong walk to the playground. we didnt talk a stroller so he had to walk both ways. i carefully watched his hydration signs and kept him topped up.

his parents never have seen him sleep so soundly like he did that night.

kids need movement. not pills.
