Saturday
No walk today except to take grandie up the hill and around the paddock block.  A good couple of km's but really slow.  He loved it and wanted to go again in the afternoon - I loved it too I love being with him and sharing the country side with him.
Breaky
usual smoothie with strawberries etc.
Lunch
Salad shared with grandson, lettuce, corn, sd toms olives x3 and fruit
Dinner
Dill flavoured creamy pasta sauce with zucchini pasta.  I think i have gone off raw garlic - the smell of it turns me off - so i can make dressings without it and sauces without it.

Sunday
smoothie for breaky as usual
Lunch
SALAD SANDWICH  - yummmmmm with my new bread it was ready and I coped with the flax seeds
Dinner
coleslaw made in food processor and apple or banana and strawberry pie or something like that.  I need some stimulation.  I will make some chocolate again.
Was cooking for Oldies and could not resist the cheese topping on the meat loaf.  had about 1.5 ounces.  Took some digestive enzymes to help with the dairy.  But have a pain in the belly and a belly full of gas    rolleyes
All of my clothes say that i have lost size but i got on the scale this am and am still 69 kg   Tongue   shrug  cant figure it out, i'll tell myself that muscle is heavier than fat and i am toning up    snicker
Went for a walk again about 5 km up hill.  Yes it is nice to walk.  I was in a tired mood today so made myself take the longest slope but it is not as steep.  1hour and 5 mins.  Fresh crisp breeze on my face and a bit of sunshine.
Getting ready for my fast may be that is why my head wants more more more.
Am really sick of cooking now.  Best time to do it is in the morning.  Then i have more self control!

Hiya Frang, that looks painful. Thank you for posting. I've never seen psoriasis like that before. It brings it home. I understand now... thank you again.

The psoraisis gives me discomfort only in that it produces additional skin cells which flake off. That is a nuisance, because the cells get over my clothes and stuff.  I am thank full that it has never been itchy, which some people suffer through.   I have more over my buttocks and back of my legs and all over my tummy area of my torso.
However, on one occasion, about this time last yea,r I ate yoghurt and 4 oranges over two days, then i had a red raw rash that burned and burned between the lesians all around my torso.  It was so painful.  It was after this break out that I did my first fast and went off of oranges and acid foods and changed to vegan diet based upon DR Fuhrman's suggestions, and then in April this year completely Raw.  Since doing this my skin has slowly improved.  The amount of skin cells produced has reduced dramatically.  And just lately i have noticed that the lesions in my hair have reduced dramically -  yayyyyy.  And the smaller lesians over my shoulders have vanished been replaced with beautiful soft skin.
The psoraisis is the result of a side effect of anti-malarial drugs taken after contracting an acute case of malaria which almost killed me almost 15 years ago.  I have never taken drugs for it.  It has become worse over the past 8 years.
So this fast is important to me.   DrFuhrman recommends fasting several times a year to keep it at bay-i.e. 3day water fasts 4 times per year and juices etc. but that is often quite difficult to do. May be juices and one day fasts might be better.  So i will see how it goes.

Day 88
walked 5km today plus a s-l-o-w walk for 2km with grandson, carried him for at least 500m on my back.
Breakfast:
usual smoothie - yayyy shared it with my middle daughter -
Lunch:
fish and a large salad and one piece of bread and butter - dunno why i crave it so much it is never as i recall it?
Dinner
Hot chocolate made with almond milk and dates and raw cocoa - delicious delicious and satisfying

Wednesday:
walked 40 mins to Old Grandies place.
smoothie with apple quite nice actually
lunch:
had to take OldGrandies to have blood tests but had prepared a delicious salad for lunch, was really hungry
so also had one peanut butter bix and one snake from my Daughters place! and extra banana and fudge and extra banana
Dinner
got home late so had a giant salad sandwich with my new sunflower bread and some fruit
delicious delicious delicious.

I am quite looking forward now to my week of fasting, I think it will be easier for me this time as i will have done it before and know what to expect moreso. I also think that physically i am better prepared having been on all raw foods for the past 88 days.  To keep me entertained my mind away from food I will take sewing, reading, study, and a couple of DVD's rather than watch the tv, and my walking shoes to gofor walks with whilst i am away.  I am sure they wont be vigorous walks just slow ones as when i fasted last time every thing was such an effort.  I leave Sunday afternoon and will return the following Tuesday afternoon.

My skin is a bit tender today, it gets like this when i dont drink enough water .... its really hard to drink a lot when the weather is sooooo cold.  When i started out for my walk this morning it was icy.  The tops of the buildings were icy and the paddock and the oval were covered in ice.  I stopped at one point and saw the steam coming off of my clothes.  Today the sun shone and there was an icy wind.  Crisp and Fresh, I love it like this but it is still hard to drink water.

Day 90 The day before my fast.
did a long walk today lasted about 1hr 10 mins.  I was very tired after this
I have had my normal 'satay veg', my once a fortnight cooked food meal.  I have to work out how i can do about this as it leads to other sinful foods such as chococlate and very soon guess where i will be!
I dont want to go back as i feel so much better for eating Raw.

Saturday - Day one of my fast
Breakfast and lunch
Carrot, apple, Spinach Celery &/or cucumber fennel and ginger juice.
Dinner
Carrot, celery corn cucumber - delicious

Sunday
Breakfast - as abpve
Lunch
carrot celery corn cucumber
Dinner
Celery, 1/2 small lemon, ginger. fennel - warmed and delicious.

It is 8 degrees and it feels as if the wind is like ice.  And I am perpetually cold.  I have bought a silly hat to help me keep warm.  After just two days of juice i feel very tired, but, that could be cause i had my granddaughter who woke up at some unearthly hour and did not go back to sleep till 7:00 am which, by that time it was too late for me to go back to bed .....  I packed up for the week to come.
I have driven to the holiday place, it is l-o-v-e-l-y to be here. I have the fire on and am sitting in the lounge room, leccy blanky on - that i will turn off when i get into the luvly warm bed after my warm shower.
Water to look forward to tomorrow,  I do have the most wonderful supply of pure rain water, very little pollution and I think i will sip it after it is warmed as it is sooo cold.  I am planning to walk every day, not brisk but as my energy level allows.  I have brought heaps to do and probably wont get all of it done, sewing, bookwork and books to read.  With all of the extra time i have being away and not cooking will allow me quite a lot of extra time.  I feel so priveleged and fortunate to be able to do this away from all of the pressures of cooking and regular life stuff.

best go for now

DAY 91
day one on water
Thanks for the encouragement everyone!

went for a walk for 50 mins today, felt great after it, refreshed and vibrant i think would be the best way to describe it.    From about 6:00pm I have started to feel quite ill.  It comes in waves.  I have this almost uncontrollable urge to pewk            detox  and have a headache and am now feeling quite tired.  Still have a few things that i need to do to keep on track for the targets for things to do that i set for myself but will put others on hold.
I have tackled this fast with more preparation than i did my last one which i did about this time last year.  This year i was determined to do a lot more 'passive type of things' and set myself targets.  I also decided to review the past 6 months and see where i am with all that 'needs, wants and would like to be done' lists, which by the way is not shaping up real good.  I do wonder what i do with my time when i look back!
Will try to post pics of my skin throughout this fast, I am taking them daily to see the improvement.

Have to go need to go to sleep wont even finish the stuff i have to do...........
Thanks againfor the support

day two on WATER.

Last night i felt nauseas until i woke in the morning, mind you up last night peeing 3 times at least.  Felt like i was going to throw up.  Woke up and felt fine.
I went for a walk today 40 minutes, the air is crisp and the wind sharp and bleak but beautiful.  Lovely walk warmed me up.  I have not had any nausea yet, dont want it back.
My i have alot of time on my hands, no food to cook...... or un cook.  Just water to drink.
For those of you who are following my journal, i am keeping samples of my pee on the window ledge to check my elimination...... not pretty really but interesting!  Coldness seems to be the main problem,  I just cannot get really warm, despite the combustion fire!
byeeee for now need to rest heaps, I am very tired.

Are you taking photos of your pee too? I'd imagine that after a few days it would change in texture!

I hope you have a nice deep sleep tonight.

Day 4 morning on water
Yesterday I went out and I was not tired at all, may be cause i had to spend most of the time driving.  Felt a little shaky all day though, and was very aware that I was feeling a little odd so took it easy.  No traffic around but still plenty of wild life on the road (country driving).
A friend and I visited some friends, they offered coffee, biscuits - on the third day, (not easy when the 3rd day is the hardest day of the fast), i was resolved not to eat, dont drink coffee any way so asked for a hot water, it was delicious, the sweetest thing.
I did not drink as much water as i should have yesterday and found myself very thirsty when i got home.  No BM for the past two days so enema was the order of the night.
Went to bed at 10:30pm awake at 11:30, wide awake, ready to go for a run, all of my senses were heightened, my skin was super sensitive, the sheets felt like sand paper, my mouth felt clear, water tasted sweet, got up read a book and then was still in that condition so i watched a movie, 'Run Fat Boy Run' good comedy, good language level & a fun movie.  I went back to bed at 2:30 am, awake at 6:30 am, feeling fresh as a daisy, ready to go for a walk, so will go for a long one shortly.  I am quite content today to stay on water for the next two days, my body feels really good, though a little shaky.
I'm sure i have lost some weight, though as yet no dramatic changes in my skin compared to last time.  I dont think i can upload photos till i get home as no broad band here but will give it a try later today.

No Jen, no pics of the pee, bit too intimate i recon        detox,   but if you want to know they are all the same surprisingly, pale lemon in colour  laugh.
bye for now off for my walk

Day 4 on water

I have been very energetic today, i feel very good though getting a bit weary now.  I do hope that i get a good nights sleep tonight.  I went for a 5.8km walk today and thoroughly enjoyed it.  i came back feeling quite invigorated not tired as i would expect, though i am a bit jittery.  Wanted to go for a walk again tonight but it was raining at dusk so could not go as i dont have a rain coat.
Last day tomorrow,
I am looking forward to my juices and some pears that i have ripening in the sun in a bowl.  Am so excited.   yahh
I thiink i will make my first meal on Sunday one of pears and soaked raisins, or may be carrot salad with soaked raisins  and finely chopped celery and grated carrot, drool drool.............guess i have another two days to decide   laugh
byeeee for now

Day 5 of water only: nearly at the end of it.

By late afternoon I found that I was feeling quite sick, I was desperately thirsty and drank one glass after another, for the day I drank 5 litres of water.  I was very tired, I could hardly move my arms, I think I over did the walking bit, one hour was probably too long, but it was nice at the time. I had some thoughts of food last night and felt slightly hungry, did not know whether that was thirst or hunger though.
My legs were fidgety again last night before I went to bed and I wanted to go for another walk but instead decided to elevate them,  ahhhh yes that was the answer, just a few minutes with them above head height made me feel much better,  I laid on the floor and put them on the arms of a chair.  I elevated them in bed sleeping on my back, this was good too.  Slept very well, 'though I was up 4 times peeing.
Woke up feeling refreshed at 6:30 am, it is 8:50 am and I am feeling quite shaky, will call it a rest day today.  Gale force winds rain here so not to inviting any way.  I am not really hungry, though there are some small thoughts of food floating around.  I am on juice tomorrow.
Through out the fast I have noticed an elevation in my heart rate as well as intermittent fluctuations in my body temperature.  Reading Ehrets book 'The Mucusless Diet System', he likens fasting to being on 'natures operating table without the knife' - encouraging to me.
I have booked in for a colonic irrigation on Friday next week, I would like to have got in earlier but unfortunately did not think of it early enough, still it will have a healthy effect on my skin and overall digestion and well being.
I think I will add some cooked beans and lentils to my diets after this fast, perhaps two meals per week.  I really like them.
byee for now
regards
