'm eating to heal my psoraisis which i have over about 20-30% of my body, my tummy, back, back of my legs, elbows and knees forehead hairline and right hand - when i write this it sounds really bad and i can quite easily get sad over it!  downcast Rotton thing!-    I just L-O-V-E acid foods - oranges, berries, citrus and pineapple.as well, but my skin does not seem to like them.   :battle:I had a some orange juice and some strawbs the other day and my right hand when balistic, cracked and sore and red, so out went the oranges.

After pondering my diet and being prepared to compromise even more to get rid of this problem  I decided to cut the citrus out completely and minimise the berries to one small serve per day, and, by accident made a salad with lot of celery, carrot and nuts in it (all i had left in the fridge) and my hand went down, the redness faded; I had heard that celery is great neutralizer and have found that since eating lots of celery and carrot juice in the green smoothie and adding celery to as many salads as i can, my psoraisis has started to fade. My right hand has faded to just a small spot on the knuckle and the large spots on my knees has gone down.  The scale has minimised dramatically and the redness is fading.....   :thumbup:I love celery sticks the tender ones, stuffed with almond or maca paste.
I have been raw for 45 days started 25th of April, around the same time as you have, I have not focused so much on loosing weight as eating properly and enjoying what i eat and found that I am loosing weight- i am 55 years old and despite my psoraisis, i swim 6 times per fortnight and average a  walk and weights about   4 times per fortnight.  Many times i have not made that average as i have broken a bone in my foot and that stopped the walking for quite a while.  It is starting to come good now yayyy...... acupuncture has been marvellous for bruises and ligament damage!

Last night was cold again, I had to have the electric blanket on to keep warm. Last week i was cold at night for two nights .... I woke up and had to shower i was so cold and still could not get warm.   Cant say that i recall being 'cold from the inside like this ever.  Not sure why so ate some more warming foods such as nuts etc and coco nut juice to keep warm.

Last night i had some fish then i had my salad, not sure what i enjoyed the most.   I was making some chapati for hubby and they just looked sooo nice i ate four of them hot and smothered them in butter - and guess what my right hand has broken out a bit today........ sigh Sad  Shows me it is either the butter or the flour.  The chapati had sesame and linseeds and oil in them as well.  I have posted my eats for yesterday and today on my journal.

Salad was of:  butter lettuce 4 leaves large outside leaves, grated carrot (1) , chopped celery (2x25mm stalks), onion 1/4 red salad), small amount of red caps (dont like it much so have it for coulour) sultanas (cuppla tablespoons), avo 1/4, lebanese cuc (one whole), and ate the whole lot with my favourite dressing then had some fudge.  I have written my dressing recipe below you may want to try it.
Dressing to die for:
1 heaped tbsp tahini
1 tbsp olive oil
tsp honey (or to taste)
Salt to taste
garlic (if you like)
juice of one lemon
juice of 1/2 orange
shake it like mad and pour over a salad what ever amount you like.

This a.m. had smoothie with lots of greens in it - greens always always makes me run to the loo heaps both ways!
carrot juice 2 carrots
apple juice 1 1/2 apples
a few pieces rock melon about 1/8th roccy (canteloup)
celery juice 2 stalks
cucumber juice 1/2 lebanese
banana 1
ran out of linseeds
finised off the baby spinach about 1large handfull
3 dates.
blend blend blend  serve delish....

Lunch:
Included chick peas from tin as i was away and was running low on stuff and could not get to shops, shops 30 mins by car.
salad of
chick peas
butter lettuce 2 butter lettuce large outside leaves chopped, grated carrot (1) , chopped celery (1x25mm stalks), onion 1/4 red salad), small amount of red caps, a couple of sundried tomatoes, three small tomatoes, a couple of olives chopped, avo 1/4, lebanese cuc (1/4), grated raw zucc.

with dressing not fully raw - 1tbsp olive oil 2 tbsp balsamic and honey and salt.  Delicious bit oily though.

Hi Frang, sounds like you are doing really well with eating to heal yourself.  Please keep us updated on how your diet affects your skin condition.  All of those salads sound so delicious.  I find a big salad with lots of veggies and a favorite homemade dressing to be so satisfying.  Your dressing sounds wonderful!  I love using tahini in my dressings as well - so creamy!  My favorite dressing is really similar, but I like to add a little miso paste, lots of black pepper and some fresh herbs, no garlic or orange juice.  But I am going to try yours next time.

It's good that you ate the chapatis because you were able to observe how your body reacted, and next time you can make a more informed decision about whether you really want to eat them or not.  That's the only way you can learn what works for you and what doesn't.

I'm wondering about why you were so cold the other night.  Have you had an insight?  Maybe you could try some warm ginger tea, or some gingko or another herb that stimulates circulation.  I also have poor circulation and often my feet and hands are really cold.  I just wear slippers and sometimes I wear a tracksuit to bed.  But the best solution for warming up in bed is cuddling next to someone you love!

Ohhhhh that dressing sounds great, I've never actually tried tahini (such a sheltered life I lead, lol), is it easy to make???

Your salads sound lovely, and it is good to try things if you really want them as vilde chaya said, with no guilt at all, and it's wonderful that you can do that and then just continue with your 'rawdom' as there are so many people who can't do this.  I'm glad your enjoying your journey so much and that your psoriasis is getting better. ohyeah

spent the night cold again last night, the only thing i can conclude is that i am not eating enough when i get cold like that - i get the shivers from the inside.
Dinner comprised of:
juice 4 small carrots
juice 3 stalks celery
1/4 avo
bit of coconut (from baby coconut)
1/2 juice lemon
a few stalks of coriander
pinch salt
into the blender and blend blend blend - delicious - oh i warmed it slightly as i am so cold - temp would not have reached 40 degrees

found a couple of flax crackers i had bought and forgotten in the back of the cupboard ate them, 6 maca nuts and 2 tbsp sultanas - and into bed........
I get home late at night, after work on Tuesday and thursdays, and have to get up at 5:45 to get to work at 7 on Wednesdays and fridays.  I unpacked from being away i ended up eating dinner at about 9:15pm not ideal really!

Did not sleep at all well last night, not enough of it as i had sooo much trouble going to sleep an could not figure out why then i woke up for a pee and was not warm enough - new sensation for me - i have been hot for ages - yayy good bye to hot flushes.
Brekky this am:
last bit of coconut juice one banana and some only just ok strawberries blended added flax seeds - not too bad a taste.  I am really scraping the bottom of the barrel (fridge) now - time to desperately shop.

Skin today on my hands looks good, spots have healed just a bit of redness left - much much better. - wish the rest of it would go - tummy etc.  Funny when i am cold like that, the spots on my legs fade, may be it is a type of detoxing    shrug

Aiming for a walk today, babysitting so have asked for a pram - baby and i will both enjoy the time together.  Might go through the botanic gardens or around the Torrens (am in Adelaide).  Lovely day for it crisp air and sunshine.    thumbup      Wish it would rain though not enough wettness here.......

Friday
breaky: dried fruit and nuts and apple and celery juice
lunch: out and no food left in the fridge:  chinese - satay veg and tofu and cashews
dinner: unplanned  thai, vegetable stirfry with prawn with mild sweet chilli sauce
quite delicious really
I did not eat the following, chocolates, grains, breads that i saw at the market, they were delicious looking and i RESISTED.................. yahh

Saturday
apple carrot and celery juice and one banana
swimming 1 hour (2000m)
lunch:  celery stuffed with macdamia and cashew paste and raisins 3
salad with banana, lettuce walnuts and raisins
dinner
chicken wing (ONE solitary wing left on the plate and just called to me.) and mushroom salad with - mushrooms, dried toms, olives, lettuce, onion, tomato and dressing
delicious
4 pumpkin cookies - delicious

i have been eating raw food for 64 days now.  Success, i find, is to ensure that you have plan A and if that fails plan B.  I fail when i have no plan.  I am finding it essential to have chocolate, and fudge and plenty of water.  I am experimenting with bread substitutes, it is some thing that i miss soooo much.  I have hardly eaten any for nearly a year now.  I have to bake it, slice it and smell it etc.  for all the others but I dont do too bad really considering all of the cooking i do.  I have slackened off  a little over the past week so now time to tighten up again.

Swimming tonight,  ok    so i am making carrot soup for when i get home other wise i will eat anything ........
Spent the whole day cooking for everyone else and nibbled just a few olives, mushrooms and dried toms also had a taste of the rice pudding i made.  That teaspoon i had hit the bottom with a thud and sat there like a lead weight      bomb now for my food, i was thinking about it and it is the first timein my life that i have ever made myself a special food for any reason.  Always thought that 'yes that will be good to make it I like it and so does everyone else'
