Really interesting - thanks for sharing RawConnection. Interesting to note at the bottom of the article that he had been open about the fact that he was still occasionally eating fish, and that adding the Brown Rice Protein allowed him to happily drop fish. Well done Mike!

Hey just wondering if anyone had tried this? I'm looking for something to take after climbing
and training and thought this might be good. But at $100 a Kg it better be good!

Would it be just as effective to sprout your own brown rice and eat that?

Piers and I are using this and really like it. It's smooth and easy to blend into liquid... more so than other raw protein powders I have used. I don't think just sprouted brown rice would do it... it's really hard to digest. The Sunwarrior protein has all the carbs fermented out of it... so it's mostly only protein left. I'm just working on the source, but should have details to Jennie at Raw Pleasure for her to start stocking it shortly.

We have two other kinds of protein powder in the cupboard, and have not been using either we like the Sunwarrior Protein so much. My favourite is the neutral just because it goes in anything, but all three have mild flavours, not super punched up

Piers and I shared at a house at Raw Spirit with the Sun Warrior Crew this year in Sedona and I really like them, both personally and how they do business.

Yes while i agree that plant foods are tops I just find myself craving scrambled eggs of all things for a day or so after training! I might not be getting enough of the right plant foods.

Maybe I could make dehydrated scrambled eggs when I get around to getting a dehydrator! (organic free range of course) Anyone tried this??

That would be great if you stocked it Sheryl! Sounds like it is worth a try then.
I wonder how hard it would be to ferment sprouted brown rice?

cheers

hi dan. there is a big misconception that you need protein after doing any sort of work out or exercise. the actual physical requirement for protein is easily met from eating fruit and greens. if you read 801010 dr doug talks about how carbohydrates are what is most important after a work out and after exercise your body's ability to uptake carbohydrates is increased. maybe have a green smoothie greens have alot of raw protein but you also need minerals and energy. hmmm not sure about the dehydrated scrambled eggs, i don't know how they'd go in a warm area uncooked isn't that the right temperature for alot of nasty bacteria to breed?  i noticed you're picture, is that you climbing? i love rock climbing and am just getting back into it i've always wanted to climb around the blue mountains. there's some raw vegan climbers on give it to me raw maybe you could have a look on there ask them what they eat after a climbing.

Hey Tora chan,

I've been trying out the green smoothies, they are great (have been adding brown rice protein though).
Protein intake after training is something I think we have to work out for ourselves and just see what works.
I agree that it is far overrated in conventional health circles (I read on one forum of a guy eating several
steaks for breakfast along with 2 dozen eggs! + probably a protein shake lol)

Yes that is me climbing, if you are keen to head out in the blue mtns let me know. Where do you climb?
Might have to check out this give it to me raw site.

cheers for the advice.

I've (unintentionally) increased my protein intake lately through consuming LOTS of algae - downing E3 Live and getting through heaps of chlorella. Can't get enough of it. Also having lots of maca. I've dropped fat and have some impressive muscles going on!  Might be worth trying these foods in your smoothies. Bee pollen is good, too - though apparently it doesn't mix well with maca.

Can you get hemp protein powder in Australia? That's supposed to be good.

I am  with rawgreengoddess I like my green  smoothies without any powders they really spoil the taste and I don' t think they are necessary  but they might be handy every now and then. I don't use them any more, theres nothing like fresh blended organic greens !

I bought all 3 protein powders have tried natural and chocolate but not the vanilla. Im not too keen on the natural taste but i love the chocolate one and you can taste the stevia with it. I agree it does not mix good with the green smoothies.

My brother went halvies in buying it with me. He isnt a raw foodist but does nto eat much meat. He is going to the gym and he is bulking muscle just like with any protein powder. He is liking it. He looks more lean then plump muscular like you see on weight lifters and losing weight to boot.
