For me it's definitely Anthony Robbins seminars. I just adore him and what he does. I signed up years ago for a 4 seminar package and it's one of the best things I have ever ever done. AND it's where I met Piers too! And that's the best thing that's ever ever happened to me!

What I love most is that you can take what he teaches and apply it to anything you want to improve in your life... he doesn't judge what 'should' be most important. His many tools and techniques can be applied to anything.

Who is your favourite personal development author/speaker and why?

Sheryl, I love Tony Robbins and what he does. His stuff has definately got me fired up in the past. But my favourite (at least at this point in time anyway) has to be Wayne Dyer. He is more laid back than Tony and no matter what mood I am in, listening to Wayne Dyer on CD always puts things into perspective for me. I then can get back to being focused on whatever it is that I need to do. He also has an amazing ability to calm and to make the listener feel grateful for all that they have.

My favourite personal development author is not really one at all, but he makes more sense than most of them put together.

From page 18 to page 24 of the book “Observations of a Very Short Man” (follow up to the sensational “Fat, Forty & Fired”) Nigel Marsh manages to completely capture how I feel, about what Anthony Robbins and others of his elk, have to say.

I'll have to have a think about a favourite personal development speaker and post back later.

Rawbill, You and I have a lot in common! Lets get married! LOL. For anyone who doesn't know, this is my everlovin, patient, hubby Bill. Mwah!

Wayne Dyer is mine too. Almost any mood I am in he can bring a different way of looking at things and he is so very level headed and humorous.  Bill, I believe, is very grateful to Wayne as Wayne is a calming thing for me. Just put him on in the back ground and I mellow! I've chnaged a hell of a lot after listening to his cd's.

I like Anthony too but I seem to take more of what he says in from others who study what he does. Wayne.... perfect!

For me anyhoo...

Anthony Robbins is my favourite aswell, number 1 reason why is it's where I met Sheryl and Piers
pure and simple!

Another favourite is John Gray, His discoveries on relationships are groundbreaking.

its hard to tell a Favourite One cause things are always changing so different situations - challenges - problems come and go , you never stop learning , growing and so you need different speakers/authors to LIGHT the WAY and also find the ONE within you...

yes actually a favourite personal development speaker of mine is the 'one Within'... he-he... cause if I listen him and practise what another one (speaker/author) suggest, writes, says, things will go in the right direction ..., on the other side if I dont follow/listen his voice even whilst reading/listening all the possible wisdom of Heaven on Earth, i'm not moving... LOL

Robert Ringer...not a personal development speaker as such...but he certainly had an impact on me decades ago. Sees things "as they really are" and explained beautifully in one of his books why so many "success and motivation" books and gurus don't actually work for most.

Temper that with Yogananda...whew....again not strictly a personal development speaker as such in the more modern understanding of the concept but to me Yogananda stands head and shoulders above anything or anyone I have ever been motivated by.

Everyone resonates with different people and approaches I guess.

I think the whole thing gets over-complicated these days (and it sure is big business).

The basics never change...just the explanations.
