Hey all, I heard about ear candling a few years ago. Bill used to get blocked ears all the time when he was panel beating. Dust and stuff... I used to do the ear candling but we never unblocked his ears with it. Now I know there is a course you can do to learn it. I thought I would do the course!

Why? Well, I never experienced it but Bill, Caitlyn and Brock loved it! They would beg for me to do an earcandling with them.

Has anyone here done the course and was it worth it? If so, does anyone know who teaches the course well here on the Gold Coast? I'd love to know how to do it better. Does it make a difference if you make your own candles?

Jennie, my wife did teh course here in VIC, but it was mainly for the reason to be able to bauy the big candles
of that course provider.

How would You do Your own candles is beyond me.

There was nothing to learn actually about the candlininmg, I just do it as matter of course without course.

Sometimes we use teh small Hopi candless, less efective but stil providing healing from colds and respiratory infections.

Earcandlening is just not about cleaning the ears, it is about everything else - infection dental, throuth, nose chest, lungs,

The candle can be used on belly button for urinary and womens type of infections etc,

also can be placed on the spot of the insect or snake bite etc.

as far as ears go, I think, that the ear needs to have some liquidy junk in it for candle to work, so the ear needs to be alread in a state of detox - demucusing and this stuf is than just taken out with candless.

Some people (usualy those chrinicaly dehydrated) will never have a luck with candles, the dry ears will just not let go of the rubbish.

It is also advisable to overhydrate day before and all the time till candlening.

Wow thanks Rudy. I had no idea about so much of that! Such as the belly button thing and the bites etc. That's great to know. Thanks again!

Jen, I did the official course ages ago, I used to help facilitate at the courses run here - and I'm earcandling for free all day on Wed 30th if you're interested.

Rudy, I agree with the hydration, it can really help.  The body will only let go of what it is ready to - if it has taken many years to build up the excess wax it is unrealistic to expect that the wax will all be removed in one treatment.

As well as the physical effect of the candles - good for cold/sinus, headache, earache, glue ear etc they can also work in a spiritual/mental/emotional way...with the energy of the smoke and the light of the flame.  The ones I use have white sage in them (used in smudging) so it is like having an internal smudging/clearing of negative energies LOL.

Jennie ~ you asked me a couple of weeks ago if there is anything I didn't do.........well?  Wink

Wow you are into everything aren't you? I might have to book in for a earcandling session with you if that's ok.

That would be wonderful. I'm trying to find new ways to relax you see. I just remember the kids loving it so much.

thank you!

Just imagine an earcandling followed by a full holistic pulsing session  - with bonus reiki flowing the whole time.  It's all yours whenever you have the time  heart

in case of the ears stuck with the old dried buidup of wax,
what is needed before candlening is teh softenning of the wax.

The people selling candles here in VIC also sell special healing oil - as ear drops which is used after each candlening but coulod be use before as well.

But any stuff from chemist or supermarket should do, if it is ear drops and has abilities to soften the wax - just talk to the chemist.

In hard cases few times a day for a week shoulkd do the trick and the candlening aftyer should be able to get at least some of it out.

In my experience thjis will just open teh gates and lots of consecutive sessions is needed.

Sometikes what is needed is to break the rules and do teh no-no :
like do 2 candles on the same ear withinn 1 session (still use 1 more on the other side for kinda balance)
and or like doing candles straight the following days.

Rules are made to be broken.

Sadly I can’t get into ear candling.

I have had it done three times (with three different treatment givers) and I really don’t think it worked very well.

I found it relaxing but that’s all.

I have terrible ear problems because I have very small canals and since I was a child I have constantly had ear aches, ear infections, psoriasis in my ears which become compacted.

I have my ears syringed at the doctors two or three times a year..........I really quite enjoy it and am constantly amazed at the crap that comes out.

In fact, just writing about it has made my right ear canal sore - wish I could attract a big lotto win with the same ease  laugh

Hey Rudy, I use 2 candles on problem ears sometimes (2 candles on one side, 1 candle on the other side).

In fact my old boss here in Qld distributes an earcandling book written by a woman in the UK, and she recommends using 2 candles per ear per treatment.

And if the condition is acute it is usually quite okay doing treatments every day until you have relief, or if the condition is a long standing one then regular treatments ranging from a few days apart to a few weeks apart are standard.

If anyone around the country had any questions about this - be they other practioners, health food employees or members of the public - they would ring me and I would have to make a call on whether they should do/have this treatment.  That's why I had to do the course in the first place.
