Hey Guys, it's picnic time.

WHERE: Daisy Hill Koala Park, AKA Priestdale Park. Last time we were at carpark 8. Carpark 2 is best so we will go there if we can.  We'll take our RP Peach signs (They are only A4 size) and write the carpark number we will be at on them.  We'll hang it on the signs just as you enter the park.

On the map the arrow points to Priestdale Park. You'll see right near the park there is Daisy Hill Road with a loop. That loop is where you go. Right off Daisy Hill road. LINK TO MAP

Time: Kick off at 2pm

Please bring with you to the picnic,

    * A plate of yummies to share
    * Something to sit on ie blankets or chairs
    * Plates, cups and cutlery
    * If you make something awesome the recipe to share
    * It might be a good idea to bring a pen and paper for if you would like to write down any books, recipes or other information commonly shared at these events.
    * If you would like to bring a musical instrument then please do!
    * Lets get some raw facts happening. They can be weird, well known or not, funny or not. I'm sure there is plenty of stuff that others don't. Lets see what we can come up with!

If you have any questions then please don't hesitate to ask me. I often get asked what to bring? Well, if you are not confident in sharing your uncooking skills then something simple like a fruit platter or even a water melon is just fine. Please remember that they are meat, dairy and egg free picnics. A lot of the time stuff has honey in it and that's ok but it's good to say so first so you don't surprise anyone. It's usually raw but no raw meat or dairy please!

Also no please make sure your food is 100% raw. Some items can be questionable so it's worth checking.

If it's raining we might move the picnic to our house. I'll post here in the morning.

Have a great day all!

Much love,

Jennie

Oh we had such a nice time today. The picnic was wonderful and the food was delish!

I have some photos for you...

Because I had no containers big enough for pizza I took the bases sandwiched between dehydrator sheets and trays then wrapped in a towel. We put the toppings on when we were there.

Here's one of Caitlyn spreading some cashew cheeze on the Italian style one...

And the completed Italian pizza...

The other pizza was the curried one I put out the recipe for on another recipe thread but with a different base. I added more curry powder to the tomato paste and that did the trick! As you can see I left this one pretty plain as it's tasty enough for me just as it is. Some added their own toppings from the salad bowl.

No one else wanted their pic taken at this stage so it was just Food and I! Gosh I look tired. Ah well, I was! Early night tonight... yeah right! LOL.

Sacha out did himself with a gorgeous Asian salad. Loads of yummery cabbage and a dressing that was perfect with it! Well done Sacha.

A couple of dips and things to dip in the dips...

And finally, the cake. I'm of the opinion that some people at the picnic, not saying who(!), but some only ate the other food so we could get to this quicker. It was delish! Very rich but yum yum.

It was so great to see Caitlyn becoming involved with the food. Before raw she and I used to bake and create together a few times per week. It was a great bonding experience and I've really missed it. Now she is merrily helping out. We are funny, I cook for her and don't eat it, she uncooks with me and doesn't eat it! Although she did have some of this cake which is a first! Yipeeee!

I also think that just being hands on in this way will help her feel more comfy with foods that are not on her normal menu.

There was a lovely couple who travelled all the way down from the Sunshine Coast. Gosh they were lovely. And brought the most delish strawbs and watermelon with them. They came last month as well and they are coming again this month too. We are going to do a picnic up there in September. I'd love to meet some Sunny Coasters so start planning! I'll post a date.

Glorious!

All of the food looks wonderful, but as always my eyes are drawn immeeeeeeeeeediately to the chocolate cake with choc dipped strawberries.

And Sacha's wooden bowl!  Now I learn that he has a square wooden bowl too.  I love those bowls.  I have wooden bowl envy.  laugh

Yers, Sacha has kitchen ware worthy of burglary! Not that I condone burglary of course. When he goes back to Thailand I'm going to get him to get me some. Yee haa!
