Sunset Airlie beach. Today is a good day to die!

i haven't worked security for many years '93 being the last time, but a friend of mine was short so i helped out yesterday, first at the races and then at a 21st. I was told to go see the mother when i get there. So i walked into this place at 7pm and an older lady came up to me and gave me instructions, i thought that this must have been one of the grandmothers. So i found a spot pulled up a stool and thought to myself this is gonna be a cushy number. Anyway as the next hour unfolded i noticed something odd that all the guests were either late teens or early 20's or 60's early 70's. Now there were three 21 year olds having a party and all of there parents were old, like 40 to fifty years older and there were only one grandparent there who was quite clearly in 90's. i thought this is a bit twilight zoneish but then as there are so many having their kids late in life now this will become the norm. I still thought it strange tho just on a statistical level, i mean what are the odds that three friends of 21 will have retiree parents.

On a cool note they were all very nice people and was the easyist $30 an hour i ever made.....

Hunzas in the Himalayas are said to bear children when 90 hey...

i guess its very healthy to break free from the common mis-take we often do when identifying people and individuals by 'age'...

How old are you? What does that mean? I'm an 'eternal being' living in a body and not simply 'a body with age'...

There are no limitations in age after all... when people ask you how old you are , answer simply : ageless LOL

Dont know surely that Les,

it is said man still has virility at late age ,with 90, which already is incredible compared to western standards , but theres not much information about womans...

i havent studied much about but looking at different website it seems that they start to bear children at the optimal time in life (previous than the western average of 26) and breastfeed them for 3-4 years sometimes!...

they eat a mostly plant based raw-diet and apricot kernels for b-17 , breath clean air and live in close contact with Nature...

a pretty fascinating and large topic to cover , the Hunzas hey...

heres a link who speaks bit of them:

yeah i first looked into them after hearing 'dead doctors don't lie, and then they were on 60 minutes or one of those type shows, i had thought about travelling there a few years ago, but apparently there are allot of taliban in that area now and not  a wise move being of euro appearence... dr wallach puts there longevity down to drinking glacial water which is high in minerals ie 'fountain of youth'. but i would think thats just one in many factors.. i think wallach was just trying to sell his snake oil colliodal minerals. of which i took for some years and did'nt get any real benefits..

it seems to me that community, love of the simple life, low stress, simple food, high altitude(at least in some long living peoples) and a degree of isolation(except for 7th day adventist)..

i was watching a youtube horizon episode i think and it show a place in sardinia where there were centenairns who lived on high meat and wine, but inbreeding seemed to be a factor there.. its an interesting subject for sure..

I've met 16 year olds who are old and 70 year olds who are young.

"Dead at 15, buried at 70" is an old saying...

It's my ladies 50th next month and we are just doing up the guest list...it dawned on me after reading this thread that most of our social circle is 25-35 and none of 'em consider us "old"...lol

It's strange eh...when I was younger I hung around much older people and now I'm getting older I seem to be hanging around much younger people....lol.

Never really thought about it till now, but perhaps I prefer the "vibrancy" of younger people...maybe it rubs off....I dunno....at any rate I always prefer to socialise with dynamic and vibrant people regardless of age.

Age dun matta...the "vibe" of the person does.

I am still chuckling that I mis-interpreted your meaning.  I thought you meant your friend was short in stature, like 5 foot or something.

Apologies for the interruption - I'll leave you boys to ponder all things longevity and age.....

Don't mind me.

my friend had a book on HUNZAS , and right before confirmed that womans had childs at 90 , when man was still active at 100... No need of the blue-pill hey?

''it seems to me that community, love of the simple life, low stress, simple food (mostly RAW - IV) , high altitude(at least in some long living peoples) and a degree of isolation(except for 7th day adventist)..''

your right LES, theres many factors playing with LONG-TERM-Health , not just one hey... i like the 'isolation' thing you wrote...

in NZ i met a (nice) person (mountain-guide) who hiked up there in the Pakistan region every year or so.... it is said to be a quite dangerous area if your foreign your right... as woman even less chance to get trough as there are religious fundamentalist hiding (the Talibans you spoke about?).... neverthless you could , with some luck and 'good contacts' , get around and have an adventure!!...

have you read the 'Secrets of Shambahla' by Redfield... pretty similar scenario with Chinese Governement on the back...

the are No-Frontiers LOL!

ps.

John , 'dead at 15 , burried at 70' makes me think and laugh
