more later
but his shirt alone is reason enough to send the book back  laugh

later:
I've seen as much negative comment as positive

My daughter saw me watching Doug on youtube, she said he reminded her of the creepy guy in Donnie Darko that preached self esteem but was a pedophile. I can see where she is coming from, he does look a little creepy, was passionate and was saying things she'd rather not hear. A few chapters into 811 she felt differently, that he was making some good arguments. She still thought the idea of a fruit diet was fancifal, even after I explained that was what i was now doing and had sort of been doing for some time.

its grand to have freedom of choice isnt it?read something like it or not like it...take a snippet from it,and run with that..mix it up with something else and you've got a healthful living recipe for yourself...

pretty exciting making your own simple,or not so simple way of eating and living...!very cool...

KK,you dont have to like it...i still read my 811 book most days at lunch time...cos theres lots of good points in it...but i dont follow it to the letter like i use to...for various health reasons...and Dougie assured me that was still very okay..

again find what works for you...and hey that may keep changing..i use to think that my eating was set in stone..never changing..~then i realised that made me an inflexible person, with a heart that could turn to stone~and it almost did!

i started eating all raw 5 years ago...and there have been many changes in that time,in more than just eating!and ive learned to listen to my body...this blows alot of health professionals away...as most people these days(perhaps eating SAd) that arent so in tune or in touch with their bodies/minds etc....perhaps because im not numb anymore,i feel it...sometimes too much, lol

anyway Stanagle...hows things going with you?enjoying the read?

he he..yup dougie doesnt sell books cos of his sense of (not) style...he he

I like what I've read so far
The first healthy 'system' I found was Natural Hygene and this book is just the modern face

The first change I applied was to cut down on fats
sure I've heard don't eat a lot of nuts, but I didn't really know what a lot meant
The chapter where he gives RV's a serve for their high fat diets was uncomfortable
although I wasn't as culpable as most mostly due to my laziness in preparing the treats
and my preference to not add dressing to salads

I can't expect miracles from a tweaked diet, I'm still working on less stress,
I have no plans to introduce vigorous exercise until I find a way I'll enjoy and keep doing it
and I'm not getting enough sleep and won't for the next two+ weeks due to 'le tour'

In the back of my mind is that it feels like almost everything I've ever heard or read on diet has been wrong so why would this be any different.

hey Grant perhaps there is a pattern emerging there?teaching of t5t's cool

When a student is ready, their teacher appears laugh

I totally agree that rockies are a great caloric source.
Today I had 6 of them (3 meals of 2 as a smoothie).
Mid afternoon I had 20 medjool dates (haven't had that many dates in a while...hehe)

Stephen, I look forward to talking to you in a few weeks about what you previously learnt about natural hygiene.

delish creamy rockies...hmm probably not that many dates, for around say a year,lol....glad to hear you doing so well and vibrantly big guy..... yahh

Stanagle....yeh the calorific input is soo important..the more manual hard sweating labour/exercise you do,the more you will yearn to eat....and will be drawn to the food, when your body needs it,and wont find it such a bother...

hows thing shaping up for you?

>what you previously learned about natural hygiene.

It was just information, I didn't apply it, it was too big a leap from a SAD diet
I had to go through high fat raw first, ie eat anything as long as it's raw

>cals

not really eating anymore
but I feel fine and could benefit from loosing a few kg's

less you eat,the more your body goes into starvation mode, and slows your metabolism right down, the more you eat(right foods)~and train~the more you easily release the weight.....

but each to their own,if you are over eating...well............thats just plain interesting isnt it.....hmmmm

personally i adooooooooooooooore eating....lol
