lately i've been asking myself alot of questions about water. i've heard various things like botted water,
something about the droplets or someting or other being to large to be absorbed properly by the body
so ionised water is better. some days i can just keep drinking water and my mouth still feels dry but i'm not sure
if i'm really thirsty or not. i'm not sure if its a water thing but sometimes on those days i get can get really bloated and
i'm yet to make a connection to a possible cause. i'm not sure if i'm going through a detox when it happens or what but sometimes it seems like drinking water unnecessarily causes it. i'm also curious, what do you all drink? bottled water, tap, filtered, fresh from the creek shrug

Hullo love!

I drink water that has gone through one of those stones. It's a pottery type of thing with a big tall stone. I pour the water in one chamber and it goes through the stone and into the other chamber.

I recently had some water from a very fancy looking water alkaliser. It was mounted on the wall and delish water.

Caitlyn recently drank some water out of a bubbler at school and told me that there was something wrong with it! She was probably very right. She usually is.

Hi Tora Chan - I never liked bottled water in plastic; I always had a sneaky fear that plastic 'bits' would get into my water. I bought a water purifier about two years ago and it's terrific. It's not one of the stone ones, which I believe is probably better, but I get to see the gunk that filters out from my taps and it's pretty disgusting. I also get to save a lot on buying purified water; I never really liked 'spring' water, because I basically distrust anything that comes from the coca-cola/amatil corporation. If they make coke, what would they put in water???

I know what you mean about feeling bloated from water and then feeling dry at the same time. I found I felt like that a lot when I was drinking tap water. Go with your body; I often found that I could prevent that dehydrated feeling by adding lemon juice to my water. If I felt bloated, I took it to mean that I was drinking too much water; that can happen, you CAN flood your body and deplete yourself of salts and minerals that help you. I know it's a balancing act, but it does happen.  Undecided Undecided Undecided

I find that some days I need buckets of filtered water, and some days I don't. Some days I have to work hard and don't have the TIME to keep going to the loo! LOLOL!!!

But I wouldn't trust anything that comes out of a tap. I hate the thought of the 'safe' and 'approved' chemicals that is put in water.

Good luck!

cheers, Niqi

Tank water at home
Town water at work

While some water may be better than others any is better than none when you need it.
I gave up trying to choose the best after reading some 'expert' saying the only truly useful water was ancient mineralised bore water.

Hi Tora Chan.  I too have been thinking a lot about water.  That is how can I get the best quality as possible.

I was once told by a natural therapist that dry mouth/lips can be a sign of digestive problems i.e. intestinal. I think this probably holds some merit because I have noticed that since going raw I no longer have dry lips (and my water consumption has decreased!).  Well something to ponder anyway.

Jen - where did you get your ceramic water filter?  It sounds good. I only have a cheap activated carbon one at the moment but I guess it is better than nothing.

If I really HAVE to drink water plain (much prefer it with whiskey!) I tend to drink Pureau from a cask box because I really like the flavour. It costs about $5.00 for 10 litres.

I also buy another one that is home delivered. I can’t remember the name of it, as not brought it for ages. From memory it is a 15 litre tub for $10.00. It is magnetised and tastes really good too. You turn the tub upside down into a ceramic water filter which sits on your kitchen bench.  I brought my ceramic water filter for $30.00 from the company who delivers this water. They sell exactly the same ceramic water filter in Macros for $110.00 - so I got a good deal.

I have a filter on my tap and a filter jug but even with changing the filter often, the taste is not that good, so tend to only use this for cooking where I will be boiling the water.

Piers and I have a Wellness Water Filter. We bought it years ago when living in a house with rusty water pipes and it turned the water in to delicious water (shocking it would even remove the red colour and rust taste). We're still using it. We calculated one day the cost (not to mention waste) of buying bottled water when we were out each day, and our expensive filter paid for itself in less than two years. Love it!

After finding out what was in my 'mint' tea at my favourite cafe lately I have started having sparkling mineral water. I really like the bottles it comes in but they are not twist tops. So this week I've invested in four bottle stopper things so I can save these gorgeous little glass bottles. They'll be awesome for juice as well.

Its amazing how the most simple and fundamental aspects of being alive for us humans has become lost information. We are always having to question what is right for us when you would think we would have it down by now. I guess thats modern life, boo hoo.
I can really sympathize with those suffering from feeling dehydrated even though having drunk alot of water. The one thing i have found to fix that is to make it into a herbal tea. Dandelion is very quenching for me. Once i start i just suck it down one after the other and dont feel bloated. It seems to satisfy the dehydration. Yum

What a coincidence, i was just reading a book i got for free with an order called 'the choice is clear' about 9 different waters and why distilled water is best even over mineral waters and filtered water & others. The book also recommends raw eating. Its by Dr Allen E Banik.
