thought i'd add my expereince with MSM. I bought some before i got pregnant and had it ocassionally with the intention to do a course of it in order to detox as well as help heal some ugly scars that i have.....anyway i got pregnant and completely forgot about it until we recently went to WA. My diet wasn't the best and I began to develop an itchy rash all over my growing belly (which apparently is quite common for some women during pregnancy), my immediate thought was that my liver was not happy so i began scouting healthfood stores (which seem to be few and far between over there..or maybe i was in the wrong place at the wrong time) for dandelion tincture, when i was in one in particular in Geraldton and while i was talking to the assisstant about it I suddenly had a brainwave about MSM. So she happened to have some and i began taking it. The first day I took 1/2 tsp in 500ml water. That night I had the worst violent dream about stabbing someone. The next day i realised that i probably hadn't consumed enough water throughout the previous day so i tried it again and really upped my fluid intake on top of that. Well, my rash was gone within 3 days. I have been taking 1/4 tsp in a glass of water first thing ever since (about 2.5 weeks now) and the itchy rash hasn't returned. I'm not particulalry concerned about taking it during pregnancy as it supports my liver and helps it deal with the pregnancy hormones as well as providing an essential building block for the baby. So far so good...but you do need to have heaps of water/fluid while you are taking it..even a seemingly small amount.

Wow erthmum, that was interesting, thanks for sharing. I've tried upping my water intake but that didn't help me. I still have a full bottle of MSM powder if anyone wants it... otherwise I'm just gonna biff it.

All I've got is a picture she mailed to me,
Barefoot in the snow white sand,
a bag of sea shells in her hand.
She finally found a paradise it seems."
