For those who are interested we are doing a 100 day raw food challenge, which BB started in her jounral and I thought instead of taking over it we should have a new one so we can all track our progress. So if you would like to join please do so we would love to have you....

Yippee lets do it!!!!!Raw food for 100 Days
So I will start today for me is day 1
I have had a GS with spinich and banana
Celery Carrot and Capsicum sticks with Hummus (not 100% raw)

I have some tofu that I brought yesterday so I will have that for dinner maybe or another night during the week and then some of my other ingrediants like Tahini, Tamari, nuts spices etc arnt raw either *is that okay I hope so* I think as long as the main things are raw that is a hell of a lot better then I was doing the last few days (had a procedure and of course they give you a sandwhich or biscuits to eat after to make sure you are okay then it started from their as long as I have my gs in the morning I stick to raw but I have noticed if I dont then I eat cooked food.

So lets chear each other along with this challenge.

Love to you Angie

Great idea Pinky. I'm up for a challenge. I'm even going to make sun teas this time around. Today is day 100 for me and I'll work down to day 1. I prefer to go backwards.

Hey pinky :-) Yes i would like to join, can I do a modified version? I would like to exclude nuts, seeds and dried/dehydrated fruits/foods and just eat raw fruits & vegies, sticking mainly to smoothies throughout the day. i know it will be very challenging but I love a challenge and the benefits far outweigh any inconveniences I may indure.

Hello my beautiful raw friends long time no post.

I would love the join your 100 raw challenge Berry. It will be 2 years tomorrow since I stopped eating raw and despite numerous attempts I have failed to return to 100% raw.

Life has been up and down lots in that time but my health has really been suffering the past month especially. I am on antibiotices for my chest and I have bad back pains probably a build of toxins in my weakest body part.

Otherwise life is good with Mark and I still going strong and the kids are doing really well at school and truly enjoying it.

I will start with something yummy and raw for dinner tonight.

Hugs
Tracey

You're like me, Jennie!  I'm on my last month of my 100 day challenge, but I'm getting so much better and doing more no-fat days.  That means I am going to do it for so much longer since that was my lifestyle goal anyway.

I'm doing 5 days right now of no fats again since I incorporated some nuts and a big avo (along with a bit of Braggs aminos) for dinner last night and felt hot with how my body was responding to them!!  So, I'm kinda in the realm with Freelea also but not so strict.  I'm refining more of what I feel I should eat instead of what I would have eaten before in a snacky-bored state.

Yay to us all for doing this for ourselves!

With love,
Theresa

Free you can do any version you like as long as you are happy and you feel it is the right time. Each to their own I say.

Welcome back Trace you have been missed. We will support you in your challenge for 100days of raw good on you for giving it another go. Love to you

Theresa wow nearly finished 100days that is fantastic. I know this will just be the begining for a lot of us but we are just aiming to get to the 100 days then continue just like you forever. And Yep yay for us all doing this for ourselves.

Hi!
I want to take the challenge, I am new here today in fact. hmmm, 100 days that's 4 months ish.
So, I will begin 2mro. My experience with raw is in fasting, before, during and after. During these times I feel so close to my natural true self,  much more alive and well. I have lots of food addictions going -- i am swinging between sweet and salt cravings. Today I ate cooked food for the first time in 2 weeks, little roasted potatoes showered with salt - my heart rate went up and i want more more more!! but feel worse worse worse.
i dont want to write too much, but i feel excited that i might have a place to share inspiration and experiences around this. I have been weaving in and out of raw vegan lifestyle tentatively for year or so. Currently devouring Gabriel Cousens "spiritual Nutrition" and feeling a strong affinity for RAW-ness!!!!!

Great to see you Tracey! I'm so happy to hear that you and Mark are still happy and that the kiddies are doing well. Lots of healing vibes to you...

Pinky, sunteas. I'm going to make mine with mint and water. Just let them sit in the sun for a few hours so the water  can absorb the flavour of the leaves. Yummmm!

Caliglee you are an inspiration. Congrats on your 100 days.

Today I had about 10 mandarines for brekky and lunch was 3 oranges diced with ginger and lemon balm. I made it for the picnic yesterday and it tasted amazing today! I had a large juice this afternoon of celery, parsley, fennell, carrot and cucumber. Almost 500ml.

Dinner was some crackers with cashew cheeze and sliced tomato. Very very nice!

I'm having an early night tonight. Another one! I'm also going to set my alarm for 6 and walk Bella in the morning. Yippee!

Rosie Glow we were posting at the same time! Welcome to the forum and congrats on starting with a challenge. I've not read that book yet but really like Gabriel. I read his Rainbow diet and it was great. Some awesome recipes in there.

I'm joining in with the 100 day challenge too...yipppeeee!!!

The longest I have been able to string together has been 3 weeks of all raw back in October last year.  Lots of emotional stuff this year has been too much for me to deal with at present so I have been stuffing the emotions back down with the help of food...this has resulted in me putting on 10kg in the past year.  I am now 67kg and I noticed when I had increased to about 64kg my lower back has constantly been twingey and my face is often feeling hot and flushed...things that used to be constant problems for years when I used to weigh more than about 64kg but disappeared when I went below this weight.  I am hoping to return to a weight that I feel light and healthy and energetic and raw foods will get me there.

Today I had a fruit salad for breakfast.  Lunch was celery, avocado and lettuce leaves.  Tea was lettuce, tomato and cucumber salad with lemon juice and olive oil dressing.  And of course there were some between meal snacks...oranges, bananas, apples, macadamia nuts.  Oh, and a chai tea...this always seems to be the last thing I cling to - I commit to letting go of my daily chai tea!

Hugs,
Jack

Freela I’m with you on the GS, raw fruits and veg. I’ve been wanting to do it for a few weeks but haven’t felt ready until now. I’ve been eating waaay too many nuts and dried fruits and I’m starting to get pretty sick of them, not to mention really bloated and sore in the stomach. I also want to try a more fast and easy way of eating as I’m going to be pretty busy from now until the end of the year and you cant faster or easier than plain old fruits and veg. Hopefully this will also help me stay raw instead of reaching for ’convenient food’ .

I actually started the 100 day challenge on rawfu last week but I’m going to start with the gs, fruits and veg as of tomorrow.

Yay I’m glad everyone wants to join in on the fun…I don’t feel so lonely now

I need to get back to eating Raw foods too.

Where I'm at: I've pretty much completely stopped eating fresh foods with the cold weather, not even attempting smoothies.  All I've done is make a litre or two of fresh veggie & fruit juice each week.  Might have a side salad with some dinners too, but more often than not, cooked veggies as a side.  Been eating a lot of breads & unhealthy pastry vegetarian things too.  Have put on weight from when I was eating raw over summer.  Ew.  Am also having problems shaking off a sinus infection, that I've had for oh three months now, and am extremely frustrated with still being sick.  So there's my woes, plenty of reasons to start a challenge.

100 days seems an amazing number.  I'm going to start with a 1 day challenge.  Then see where I'm at tomorrow.  Will tackle this one day at a time to not get intimidated, and perhaps make it a 'ooo how many days can I go without stopping' challenge.  Then keep trying to break the personal bests Smiley

I'll be aiming for 80% raw for my personal challenge.  The remaining 20% can be for salad dressings, some condiments like tahini, some 'i'm not sure if they're raw...' nut type things etc. As well as steamed or lightly cooked plain veggies if I want them that way, which will hopefully make re-transitioning easier.

I am glad everyone is joining in....

I will continue in my journal, but poop into this thread everyday to see how everyone is going. Looks like I will be doing a lot of juicing and smoothies with too few teeth to chew anything  Sad...oh well, I will be the best with what I have.

My idea if the challenge was to do my best at 100 days raw...not 100% raw, working up to high raw and being accountable to others is great motivation.

Yesterday was day 3 of my challenge...heres what I had...

4 Tangellos
1 banana
whole head of butter lettuce with tomato, spring onion, and avocado balls
piece of raw pie I made the other day
bread roll home made
1 raw biscuit

Even though there is a cooked bread roll in there, what I ate for the whole day is better than wat I have been eating.

no exercise...as yet

have a great day everyone

 rofl

Oh that's my favourite kind of typo. Where is Gosia! She will larf her tushie off as well!

I'm so glad that there is so many people coming on board.

Jackson, I'm going to try a tea today that might interest you. In my coffee grinder I'm going to blend cinnamon, cloves, vanilla bean and star anise and pop it in a jar, add filtered water and pop it in the sun for a few hours. Hopefully by tonight it will all be infused and lovely!

I'm wondering if it would be a good idea if we all share some plans as to how to combat difficult situations that may arise. I've got to dash now to take the kids to school but will think on this and add more at the end of the day.
