Ohh some nudie gardening hey Jen, theres a concept, now thats getting close to nature!

That's fantastic going all raw Jackson :-) It's truly the only way to succeed long term.  If you still eat the cooked stimulating foods then they will still be in your bloodstream circulating constantly causing more cravings.  Once 100% your tastebuds will rejuvenate and start to really appreciate and actually crave very simple whole foods (especially if you stay away from condiments/salt etc-even if they are raw). We get a new set of tastebuds every 10days so try to at least stick to 100% for this long.
Another tip on staying raw - eat enough fruit!  I mean don't be shy, get that fruit in there, more than you think you need because our tummies are so used to (well can they ever be used to it?) the old concentrated cooked/gourmet raw dehydrated foods that when you start eating predominantly fruit you will likely fill up quite quickly because of the high water content hence leading to not enough calories....which can result in cravings for the wrong stuff cause we're hungry! The body runs on glucose, lets give it the easiest converted source - fructose .
Join us on the banana smoothie train? They are so satisfying and hydrating..
Also do some daily exercise, even just a 5min walk but consistenly everyday.
Most people are dehydrated so drink plenty of water! I start everyday with 1.5litres, keep an eye on the colour of your pee, it should be clear or almost clear throughout the day.

Glad to have you on board x

Freelea you're so full of helpful information I really learn a lot from your posts  smiley

Well yesterday I had a bit of a combo disaster.  I ended up eating some almond and date rolls after I had a banana and I was doubled over in pain for hours. Lesson learnt I’m back to bananas and greens today. I think I’m going to do another week just bananas and greens, it is really helping my digestion. Especially after yesterday, I think my body is loving the easy to digest foods and it didn’t know what to do when I ate the date rolls.

I may not be able to post all of this week as I will be away from Perth and not near the internet but I’ll keep a journal of what I'm eating and post it when I get back

Take Care

Hey VegD, glad to be of assistance :-)  I replied to you on your journal regarding your post above.

I am feeling so blissed out today, just brilliant! The sort of happiness that makes me want to cry....and well I did just before! I heard the John Lennon song 'Imagine all the people..' I thought about his life and how he just wanted peace for all & then how he was killed so tragically,I wouldn't be suprised if the American Gov was behind that.....anyways I also felt the sincerity and passion through his words and started to imagine what the world would be like if there was only love for eachother, the planet and the animals...what a world it would be...I got this overwelming rush of blissful emotions at the thought and tingles throughout my whole body, was quite surreal, it was like a moment of absolute blissful awareness then I cried....not tears of sadness but bliss.  It makes me think ...is this the feeling we are ment to be experiencing in every moment?... but we are just numbed to it via so many external influences? If so i'll take seconds please!!

In other news bumped into a fellow-rawfooder today....
I was at the Organic market early this morning to get first dibs at the black russian tomatoes...i was loading my bag up when I heard a ladies voice beside me say "Oh they are so good, aren't they..?" I looked up to see this very fit, attractive lady standing beside me, I replied " yeah they're my favourite" to which she said "oh I better hurry up & get some before you take them all", I said "I only eat raw food so I eat a lot".  She said "yeah me too"...I looked at her and said "what's you name"? She replied..."Karen".  So I met the lovely Karenlovesraw today, we had a quick chat, fought over the black russians then both headed off to the banana man to get our bargain boxes...raw synchronicity for sure!

Hey Free,KAren is beautiful isnt she....both inside and out( i know this gets bandied around alot, but very appropriate in Karens case...)she rocks!!

Thanks girls re the hydration, got there in the end.....water up!!

Free i hear you on the mandies,i had nearly 20 of them today from Clintons....wish id bought more..now,damn they are so sweet, and i thought of you as i ate them, cos i know you abolutely adore them.......

eats are pretty much the same per normal, inc mandy juiced and green juice....less cals today...as my exercise was yoga and t5t's....so no need to eat as much...around 1800-2000cals i estimate....and wasnt as hungry anyway....i wanted a quiter more restful day....to gather my poise for the busy day ahead...after a verrrrrrrrrry late night...had some lovely friends visit last night, and they didnt want to leave lol....

drinking water first thing,is soo soo soo important for the days hydration to be set up in the correct manner....nope no yellow pea allowed.....and then theres less fatigue, better memory more even keeled temperment....and more energy for workouts and day to day living!
oh and p.s my fat intake today was a few maca nuts in my large green salad...16-18 maca nuts....

next day of two no overts, and in fiji as of wednesday so quite possibly no overts for the whole time i am there....

Hey lovely girls,
I'm feeling back on top of things. I am gaining an awareness that my digestion is becoming more and more sensitive. It has always been strong and robust and taken a bit of punishment but no longer. I am getting strong messages from my body about what I need to eat and now it seems that I am experiencing pain and discomfort from making poor choices. I must see this as a gift really.
Have been working out really, really hard.
Yesterday:
20 mins elliptical trainer
20 mins running
5 mins rowing
10 mins stairclimb
10 mins heavy weights combo

Today:
20 mins swimming-moderate to hard
20 mins elliptical trainer
20 mins running
10 mins fast walking

Eats: Today, just eating banana, celery, lettuce, berry smoothies -still tender digestion.
Had our going away party last night and I wowed everyone with many litres of banana and strawberry ice cream made in the vitamix. I still have many many frozen bananas in freezers through the neighborhood.

Neet you will be missed... Have a great time luff!

Still going well. I'm feeling really confident about this challenge although i found myself today fantasising about what i am going to eat when i have finished my challenge! What? No way. That's not my goal! This is to get me forward, not an interim thing. Eeeeek.

Woke up this morning craving seaweed so indulged in a lovely salad at lunch time of wakame and kombu with cucumbers and tomatoes. Delish! And olives too. I got some lovely sun dried olives at the nerang markets again on Sunday. Truly, they are so delish that I'm thinking of buying 20 containers of them so that I have loads when the season runs out. Yum! Bill loves them too.

Then later I had a green smoothie of water, lettuce, agave and banana. I don't normally add agave but this is one that the kids were having and so I did.

Brock is doing well with his eating. I made some balls this morning for him and Caitlyn to take to school. He also had an apple and then I made him a chockie shake for lunch with almond milk, banana, cacao and agave. he loves it and it's filling for him at school. He said he didn't get in any trouble today so he must be focusing better in class. His dinner is an apple, an orange and two prunes. Then, after a little break he's going to have some pistachio's from Free's lovely mum. Yum. Lucky Brock.

Tonight's dinner is a raw pizza. I had a couple of cucumbers while I was putting it all together. Yummm!

Hi everyone,

I'm doing well. Lots and lots of bananas and greens...thinking of a salad tomorrow. Getting back that light, joyous feeling I had when I was raw last time. Why do I keep backsliding and losing that wonderful feeling. I absolutely blitzed my gym session on Friday. Had to keep upping the incline on  the treadmill!! Was hoping to get to aquarobics tonight but had to work late.
Can't wait to get back to the gym tomorrow!!

Cheers

Hey Beck- wow really are hitting da gym! great work. Try not to stress your body too much while your digestion is compromised and factor in a rest day...our body recovers, heals and grows during our rest days not when we train, training provides the stimulus and we are responsible for providing the best conditions to maximise results i.e rest, best nutrition, hydration etc...
great cross-training girl :-D glad to hear you had the epifany about punishing the body no longer, thats a biggy for sure!

Hey Neetness, I didn't come back and clean...no :-( I ate 3 sticks of celery to slow the sugar down, it worked so well, celery is such a miracle food.  I now know why you used to make such a fuss about it!
Ohyeah Fiji is callin'! We want updates over there ok? No private time allowed, you have your fans to look after...:-D

Jen glad you are doing so well, how long has it been for you now? All raw i mean? Seems like a while now, awesome.  Oh yeh I remember those pistachios...I used to go mad on them! Addictive lil' critta's. I went to Byron on Sunday and checked out the market, you would've loved it.

Hey RNF, great to hear that you are doing really well, how blissful in that joyous feeling?Huh??!!!! Oh there is nothing better im sure.  Your post is really positive and uplifting...upping ze incline huh? Awesome skys the limit girlfriend :-)

ai ai captain Free...will do my best to give you updates hon...ohh yes the miracles of celery....its an every day food for me...most definitely..

carrying on from the above post re food and exercise

after my banana lettuce date wraps...

20 mandies(not as good as clintons but juicy and alright)

dinner-

pseudo pasta as my girlfriend calls it lol

2 zuchinnis spirilized

blend of
5 tomatos
4 stalks of celery
squeeze of lime juice
another whole head of lettuce
6 auzzi dates
poured over my zuchiini..wow this was wickedly good and so filling

then i had around 15 aussie dates and 3 bitter green cos lettuce leaves

all digested like a dream and feeling so hydrated with all my greens intake today..

another 5 kms of rowing
and stretches...

i think around 2700-2800 cals today
cals burned i think around 700...maybe a touch more...

no overt fats eaten...always make me feel amazing...

i feel good now i look into the mirror in my new blue and white kini....looking fit and healthy is a nice consequence of eating low fat raw vegan and movin my butt every day.....

as Free puts it....eating this way low fat raw high fruit...we look for reasons to exercise....i remember getting cranky in Thailand, cos i was forced to take a taxi(remember Free...my one sooky moment..and it wasnt Free that twisted my arm....)i was going to go on by myself...but there were litl kiddies involved so it was really fair enough...i got over it...and went moonlight skinny dipping with the gals....that was soo funny....

anyway i digress.....

2 more sleeps then tropical paradise ahead!

Had a great day, woke up with sore nipples  (oops am i allowed to say that?)....too late..:-P Im guessing its period time. When i was cooked I never experienced sore nipples so its rather exciting now that I am as its obviously a good thing because i am much healthier ...anyways enough about me nipples!

Have decided if im going to eat peas like I did last night that they have to be fresh that day and preferably picked by me as some were starchy and slowed my digestion noticably.  Although i felt great today, i have standards of feeling amazing everyday and that's what i aim for, these small improvements help me refine a little more.

Just finished a black russian tom, org mandies and baby spinach salad with a sauce of celery, tom and celery....oh my god!! It tasted AMAZING!! i had a taste of the sauce and it was sooo salty that i had to get mum to taste it to confirm the saltiness but she said it wasn't.  At that moment I realised that my tastebuds must be so clean from eating such simple foods & combo's that the celery was bordering on too salty but oh so lush! The salad was an absolute pleasure that i didn't want to end, some photos....
