I thought that I would just share what I am having for lunch. I am often asked about what I eat/drink and am happy to post photos. This is a delicious smoothie that was really quick to put together and is going down like a dream!

Smoothie before

Smoothie after... Sorry, this photo is not that great but I guess if you've seen a photo of one, mostly they all look the same!

Orange, baby spinach, mint and water. Suuuuuuuuuuuper!

Oh! And I nearly forgot my mint tea that I'm brewing in the sun as we speak...

Another photo...

Yummery salad. Parsley, ice-berg lettuce, english spinach chopped fine with a small amount each of red and yellow capsicum and about 10 olives. Dressing, juice of 1/2 a very juicy orange, 1 teaspoon of pinenuts. Delish!

Thank Cali! I am just so enjoying raw right now. Even things that seemed such a drama a month or two ago are now so peaceful. I honestly feel like I've turned a corner. Just over a year and a half high raw and my life has changed so dramatically. I'm so keen to see how it would be 100% raw.

Have a great night all. I'm off to feed the fam and watch a raw dvd! Keep me inspired...

Hey Free, I have often heard/read that bananas can be mucus forming...you don't experience this?

I had a joyful realisation on the weekend.  On Sunday, I decided to not have anything to eat for the morning and ate an apple at about midday.  I was really wanting to have apple with banana because I love this combination but I decided I would just have the apple and eat with complete awareness (J and A were out the backyard with their dad so I had less distractions).  So I sat (without my nose in a book as I would usually do) and ate my apple with complete presence to the sensations of eating an apple as if it was the first time I had ever had one...not attaching any labels to it like 'good' or 'bad' or 'better than' or 'not as good as' or 'would've been nicer with banana' or any other judgement I would normally make!  And it was so satisfying.

THIS IS IT...this is what I need to do to be able to eat to satisfy my hunger rather than satisfying my desires and cravings.  Just observing the sensations whilst I eat...no labels, no judgements, just observing.

Now, I just need to find where I put the remote control so that I can 'pause' my children for the duration of my daily meal times so that I can be fully present while I eat!!!

Hey girls, just checking in.
Last two days, have had mainly green smoothies. Yesterday did 45 mins at the gym then swam about 10 laps including two butterfly. I am very keen to do more cross training and add more swimming to my routine. Today I went for a brisk, hilly one hour walk. Really wanted to eat peanut butter sandwiches quite badly and am pleased I didn't. Last meal was a very wild green smoothie-nettle, dandelion, clover-the greenest smoothie I have ever seen. can anyone tell me how to make chia pudding?
Hi Free, I'm arriving in the area (GC/ NNSW) mid Sept.

Jackson You are absolutely spot on-mindfulness is the key to it all. I feel my goals are beyond 'being 100% raw'.  I need to focus on the spiritual aspect, being connected and mindful in every moment with the unfolding divine-eating poorly and overeating numbs this connection, being mindful-totally mindful means I only ever put it my body what is absolutely right for it at that moment. You are right that this is a great challenge with kids.  I think my habit of overeating really got into the groove when I had children- I used it as a way to manage the stress of parenting-a basic survival thing really.

Well in complete opposition to yesterday I have eaten high fat stuff all day. Must say that in spite of drinking water all day and the rockmelon smoothie for brekkers this morning, I'm extremely thirsty! High water content foods peoples. We need em! But gosh I love olives....

Today, I went for a 45 minute walk first thing. During the morning had mono meals of oranges, apricots and then DATES- for lunch a yum wild green gs again. Afternoon a few nanas, evening meal-sprouted quinoa salad and some steamed cauli flower and sweet potato. Went swimming in the afternoon and felt so hungry while making dinner- steamed veg feel good though. Ate last meal and seven o'clock and won't eat again till tomorrow.

Hey hey back again!
I got a suprise visitor on Monday in the form of Harley! He appeared with rockies and pawpaws so I am postponing my bananas and greens only until next Week.  We went on a fruit hunt yesterday and ended up picking about 10kg of beautiful custard apples (so much for being told the season is over!).
Anyway will be posting regularly again soon xx

Feeling really blah today, I’ve been really tired, heavy headed and headachy but I’m putting it down to detox. So far today I’ve only been drinking vegetable juices and loads of water, I just felt that my body needed a break from all the food. Went for a long walk this morning and contemplating going for a jog right now. I should probably just rest but I have some brand spanking new jogging shoes that I’m dying to get my feet into  smiley

Hey Free, I wish I'd been there to see the look on your face! LOL. I'll bet it was priceless... have a ball.

Veggie, I've been like that today also. I am just on a downer which is ok. They don't last long these days.

Have fun in your new runners!

A few challenges for me at the moment...J's birthday today and also my mum staying with us.

J's (6 today) birthday request was to have a day at the beach and then get pizza for tea and sit on the beach to eat it.  What a beautiful day we had.  I did join in with the cooked birthday fare, but tonight instead of having a piece of birthday cake (just because its there), I am listening to what my body is asking for and am happily munching on oranges.  Oh joy...positive step forward for this body!  ohyeah

A lot of emotional stuff going on for me, but I am enjoying most times just being with the feelings rather than eating to avoid dealing with them.  I am discovering how good it feels to observe feelings of anger/sadness/etc. as they visit and then the feeling of contentment after I have acknowledged their visit and they have the opportunity to leave when they are ready (rather than shoving them back out the door using a piece of bread and a slab of cheese!)  Sad

Hugs to all,
xx
