Wasn't sure where to put this thread. Don Tolman (The Indiana Jones of Wholefoods) is doing evening seminars in capitol cities of Australia in September. He is into pure plant foods and high raw. Has some very interesting ideas. You can register for free tickets by going to Fortune Events. You just put VIPGUEST in the privelege code field. His seminars are usually pretty expensive, so I'm looking forward to checking him out for free!!! Hope someone finds this info useful.

No worries, Simon. I only found him searching around on You Tube. There are bits of past seminars, and an 8 part interview on there. Also found some good David Wolfe bits.

I love Don Tolman. I went to one of his seminars in May last year and learned loads. I'd love to go again.

hiya Jenergy, do you think you will go to this one in Brisbane?  I am registered and wondering who else is going to the Brizzbane talk.  If others are going from the Northern Rivers Region it may be wise to car pool.

mmmm... probably not. Monday nights are not usually that great for us. Interesting that they are not doing Gold Coast events anymore...

I don't mean to put a dampener on everyone's enthusiasm about Don Tolman, but I found him really disappointing :-(  I went along to a free night and thought he was an amazing speaker with an incredible way of story-telling and extremely entertaining.  However, on the free night they were selling tickets to a 2 day "Bootcamp for Brains" seminar and my partner and I signed up for $1500 each for the two days - very expensive!

The two days were very, very disappointing.  Don was still very entertaining, but he gave away very little when it came to raw food.  Anyone on this site would already know more than he gave away - but I guess anyone who was a brand newbie to the concept might get something more out of it...  There was also more hype than substance, and I find the whole "guru" thing a bit sad.  I think empowering people with knowledge to make their own informed decisions about health is much more genuine, than setting yourself up as a guru with all the answers - "just pay a fortune and I'll tell you the secrets of the world...."

Maybe I'm a bit cyncial but I paid $1500 and felt like I got not much out of it except a weekend of great entertainment - he is a great storyteller and the concepts he talks about are fantastic - no doubt there - but as for actual nitty gritty stuff you can use - nothing.

Just my opinion though!

I agree, I didn't learn a hell of a lot about food but I learned loads about other things. I loved learning the memory stuff and a lot of the history that he taught. When I was there he said he was being prevented by the FDA/FBI (?.. same thing?) from giving out the recipe. They had him going through court processes trying to prevent it. I wonder if he is allowed to give it out now. Could be interesting? I wouldn't mind going to the free night to ask him!
