After numerous water fasts, juice fasts and eating minimally, the body as learnt to function on low calories and isn't releasing stored fat.  In fact, I feel it is making my fatter.

I had a moment today when I was on Tonya Zavasta's website.  She believes that by reducing your metabolism it will help those people eating a raw diet to put on weight (those that need to).  She goes on to say to only eat two meals a day.  I have adopted this for most of my transitioning period to raw and have always swung back and forth from cooked to raw.  Alot of my research led me to believe that it was healthier to eat minimally so that is doesn't tax digestion.  But have found it dificult to release some unwanted fat as my body isn't getting enough to function.

I exercise every day.  Run, weights, boxing, netball etc.  So I am active to keep the metabolism ticking over but fear that if I increase my food intake it will cause the body to store the added food as the body is used to running on low calories.

Your thoughts and suggestions would be great.!!

hey Nette...

break your meals up into smaller meals often...this will speed up your metab.....dont nec have to eat more cals...just break them  into litl meal more often.....it will take time to stretch your stomach to get use to eating more food..

yup as one who is lean..and i eat around 5-6 meals per day..as i cannot overload my belly too much at a time...( i see you laughing some of you who read what i eat....and think i dont eat much at a time...)i have no wish to slow my metabolism down....i like it burning away....

are you eating all raw?cos this will help you body to shed kgs too.....

I try to eat all raw, but still transitioning or not ready to face all my demons.  I suppose the blockage has always been that I don't believe that raw can shed the last bit of unwanted kilos.  Hence the failure at it.  But I shouldn't focus on this because I am setting myself up for failure.  My priority should be for the health benefits and everything else is bonus.

you will get the exact results you focus on,you are a smart woman you know this....perhaps focus on feeling lean and fit...rather than thinking you are carrying fat etc....

why wouldnt eating all raw shed kilos?when it works so well for so many others?not saying you need to eat all raw....

yes your demons will surface if you eat raw low fat...its empowering once you face the first lot,and makes you feel so strong!everyone to their own journey though....

you have my uncondional support know matter what...X
