Did you know that babies can learn what are good and safe food choices by what the mother eats when they are in utero? WOW! Then later by sampling what the mother is eating. What a great reason to eat a wide variety of food when pregnant. I've heard from people that have been HUGE coffee drinkers that once pregnant the idea of coffee made them sick. Our bodies are wise and must know that some things are not appropriate (when we listen to them). I also heard something about babies in utero being able to influence the food the mother eats. How wild!!

PS I'm reading Wild Health and learning all kinds of great things - interesting that we usually study disease in our culture. This book is all about animals and how they manage their HEALTH. Great book.

Who is the author of Wild Health?

Is it one of the books that will be available from Raw Pleasure, or was it from a bookshop?

It's by Cindy Engel - we have a couple of copies coming in. Not tons though. It's a niche book but one well worth reading. Piers says its one of the best books he's read of our entire library and we have a pretty big library on health.

With each of my  three pregnancies  I couldn't stand the smell of coffee or chocolate for at least six months.  I literally felt like throwing up if I smelt them.  I could even smell coffee in a room after it had been taken out of the room.  Hows that for a sensitive nose.  I've always hated the taste of coffee but loved chocolate.  Yet during pregnancy I just couldn't eat chocolate.  Was it the caffeine or the sugar I don't know.  Also, I craved freshly made food especially salads of tomato, lettuce and cucumber.  If cooked food was put in the fridge I couldn't eat it.  Were my babies telling me something?

My 2 and a half year old likes fruit and raw food( except for greens) I prepare more than the other kids.  I suppose it must be because he hasn't eaten as much cooked food in his life, so far, as the others.  I tried to feed him just raw food when I became raw but it is hard when he wants to try what everyone else is eating.
