Sheryl, love your story and how you met Piers it is honestly gorgeous (I'm bit of a romantic).  I can also relate to running things through my head before saying them when I'm nervous.

I can remember once in my work place trying to compliment a really lovely lady.  She had changed something about her appearance that I noticed, so of course my brain registers change and comes out my mouth like this, "you look really nice for a change Jan".  She says "why thanks Nichole, I think" and giggles.  I when bright red, stuttering not what I ment.......... Yeah I can put my foot in my mouth sometimes.

Warmly,

We're getting all deep and meaningful.. I personally think that the personality we had as kids is basically who we really are, and whether we are shy or outgoing doesn't really matter, it's more important just to reaise our true selves, whatever that is (rather than change or reinvent ourselves).

Each of us is a walking contradiction, sometimes shy sometimes outgoing, sometimes self confident sometimes insecure - it's context based, and we create our own contexts. Here's an example: I have been performing as a solo musician (piano and vocal) at clubs and pubs for years, and have sung for Rock Bands and Jazz Bands all over Australia, yet I am totally incapable of doing Karaoke - I'm way too self conscious for that! I used to be a High School music teacher and often did public speaking quite comfortably, but I would cringe at the notion of giving a speech at a wedding or such.

We are all exactly as we are meant to be, exactly as nature intended us to be, and the world is as it should be. We should accept ourselves, others and the world, as they are. That doesn't mean we can't be ambitious or seek to grow, because that too, is part of who we are and it is meant to be.

Oh dear, I sound like a preacher.... I hate that...should I delete? hmmmmm........ probably... oh, well... I am what I am.

Brett - I love your post! It's beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing with us all here, and your generosity in volunteering to do the videos! We'll talk more about that in the next week or so and see where we can take it!

Interesting post Brett, I would love to be able to play a musical instrument one of the few items left on my Wish list that I made on one of my major birthdays, I've achieved all but three, I digest sorry.
I've found over the years, who we associate with can have a bearing on our personality, I love to be with outgoing, humerous - witty folk, this leads me to be far more outspoken than normal, on the flip side I also need some personal solitude.
One thing I nowadays erase is negativity yeeks that gets me down...

A thought has just popped into my head kind Sheryl I thought you had dark hair? afro

Medium brown I would say is more close to reality - my scary photo now is pretty normal for me. I think one photo O had my hair slicked back (way back when) and it looked darker). Next I'll post a real photo!

i am loving this thread...and relate and love everyone posts...

sheryl your pic is adorable... kiss

i liked how brett said that our personality as a child is our personality now...

well i really do believe that for me-as i child i was so engaging and outgoing and a bit of a show off...i digressed (sp?) away from that the more ill i became as i grew into adulthood...i was shy and nervous and anxious around people,i could hardly breathe if i was in a group gathering...just walking down the street BY MYSELF,i would stress out and shake,it was so awful...and now my body is healed/healing,i have such confidence and i feel self assured...i love engaging in deep conversation and getting down to the deep inner spiritual being of whoever i am speaking with...i can hang in the kitchen i can sparkle in a crowd....i love laughter and meeting like minded ppl(raw...Smiley

then on the other hand,i love to spend time by myself, away from everyone,no talking no socialising....so i guess it's just finding that balance...
at times i still have to overcome the 'old' shyness...but all in all feel so much more comfortable talking to anyone anytime...it's fun engaging strangers in the street...i past 2 adorable teenage girls on the street friday night...they just gave me a look-as can often happen...so i walked up to them and told them how gorgeous they looked in their matching shorts ect outfits, well they just come alive and one was giggling so much she could barely stand still...it is a blast saying and doing the unexpected...and i always speak the truth...if there isn't anything nice to say...don't say it, is my motto...

i was eagerly chewing down a gs at work yesterday-the air con wasn't working so it was like a 'sweat shop'...a lady walked in and said i hope that's all legal in your thermos...i laughed and said yea fruits and greens...she said the look of eagerness and bliss on your face when you were opening your thermos...i had to wonder...had never met this lady before...and suddenly she's asking me for green smoothie recipes...which i was happy to oblige with  :rolleyes:and she's telling me she's off dairy salt sugar bread ect...so we struck up a convo...now if i was that shy anxious girl i use to be,that would've never happened,i would've fled out've the room shallow breathing...
she said, she wanted the energy i had, while everyone was fading around me in the stuffy, dept store...i was coping well, apart from hot feet in closed in shoes...

i will be happy to be socialising with my raw gals in the kitchen...we can have sparkling fun there too...and then i can see you all slowly sneaking out to the main raw party...twinkling and sparkling your special blend of pixie dust...popping raw chocolates into peoples pockets...lightly lightly flitting around...blossoming into the raw beauties that you all are...

cee-negativity is a bummer for sure...it is so much more fun and uplifting to be around positive souls...
hey i play piano and the flute...but haven't done for a long time...when i use to play flute, one of my cats would climb right up onto my lap(if i was sitting) and stare at me in the face sooo close, and then she would be so happy that she would start salivating..drooling everywhere with her mouth agape....hilarious i would be in fits of laughter and wouldn't be able to play...

hey miss bliss plays the didgeridoo....clever girl i hear?HuhHuh??/tell us more glorious bliss...

....when i use to play flute, one of my cats would climb right up onto my lap.....

Reminds me of when we had a cat... whenever I'd meditate in the yard, he'd come and sit under my chair. He was a loner-type cat, and it was unusual for him to seek people out. I'm sure he was tuning into my meditations. Cheeky bugger.

Cee - I have one of those lists too.  How cool that you only have ONE to go.  I have a few.  But, I am crossing one off next Saturday when I go on my girl's own surfing safari!

I blew the chance twice to learn to surf in Byron - at one time, substituting for trapeze lessons.  That was interesting.  Didn't really know that I had a sheer terror of heights until that moment.  Still, I went up every bloomin' time and just stood on the little platform and shook.

One of the instructors who must have just finished reading 'how to win friends and influence people' said "I thought only horses sweated that much!"  cheesy

So, next week, I'm doing a day's surfing lessons.  I can't wait.  Don't care if I'm crap, or spend more time falling off my board than on it, I just want to do it.  Hopefully I can get one wee shot of me on my feet, on a board, on a little wave.... new avatar here I come.

Neet - I love serendipitous moments with strangers.  I had one yesterday while I was sniffing peaches to buy.  A lovely lady joined me and started sniffing too.  I commented that it was nice to see a fellow peach sniffer!

I then started chatting about how GREAT peaches have been this summer, and she lit up, and wholeheartedly agreed.  Then she shared her fave summer drink with me.  She peels the peaches, and saves the skins and the stones and she boils them up with lots of water.  Cools it, pops it into the fridge and she merrily drinks it.  A nice peachy moment for both of us.

Speaking of peaches - has anyone ever seen donut peaches.  Too weird.  They are like pin cushions.  They give me the heebie jeebies.  They can't be natural can they?

haven't seen the heebie jeebie donut peaches...how odd?am sure someone will enlighten us of their naturallness of not?

enjoy your surfing...i would like to go scuba diving...somewhere in nice warm clear blue waters with lots of pretty fish and coral to gaze at in wonder....
who cares if we are crap eh...as long as we're having fun...mwah X

I got some of those flat peaches at the market a couple of weeks ago. They tasted just like delicious white peaches. Well they would wouldn't they? Can't think of their name. I will ask the Greg next Saturday.

Hey Miss Bliss my partner plays the didgeridoo as well!  He has got about 6 of them.  He has been playing for years and they are worth thousands.

Maybe if you are at Raw Pleasure HQ the first weekend in April when we are there, you two can have a didge-off!

He has just got the internet on his laptop at home, so he will be joining in the forum conversation very soon....  (instead of me relaying everything thats happening!).  He is just as raw as I am - about 95%. We have been on this journey together.

Jen, it sounds like a corroboree is brewing.. just so happens I can digeri-too...hehehe

I don't have a list.. hmmm.. might be fun to think about.

I love it when you meet someone, and they turn out to be, like, a good friend of someone you know, or you used to attend the same school or something... or when they are actually someone you used to know but you don't quite work that out until later.
