Hi Everyone

I am struck down currently with a feaver it comes and goes and my hair is still comming out . My mucous is pretty much ok at the moment.
Has anybody had any feaver symptoms?

What to do during a feaver stage ? Any good ideas? Or is it just a waiting game. My mum tried to bombard me with chicken soup yesturday and I refused !

Any good suggestions I have been resting and having plenty of fluids I might evern make a green smoothie this afternoon although not that hungry.

All things considered and having a very cold Sydney weather I am still in good spirits cheesy .
I might give myself a frech manicure  smiley .

Love to all hope next time I post I will be feverless and also I need to get back into my exercise routine when i get my 100% energy back.

Do not try to exercise at the moment, but rest as much as possible. Most raw websites discuss the detoxification process. Have a look at a few and be gentle with your mum. She is just loving you as well as she can.

Chin up,

Love joss

i'm with Joss, rest up...how do you feel about fasting? that is an amazing way to help detoxify and balance your body ?? you could try a juice fast(and rest well),rather than a water fast, which may be too much for you, even if you only do it for 24 hours and see how you go...

I found a great mucous cleaner or melter to be raw garlic. It is too hot for me to chew in my mouth, so I crush it under a knife and chop it up extremely fine until oils are released. Then, I get a small amount of water just to lubricate my mouth and swallow pinches of the crushed garlic until all gone. Five mins later you can feel the heat in your chest, then your nose starts running and you start coughing up phlegm.

When i'm struck down by a cold I get stuck into the garlic. I give it to all family members in their salads so no one can smell bad as we all eat it!

I'm glad that your fever is gone and I too am experiencing a light mucous problem. GL on your raw journery,

cheers, Mae

Mae,yes garlic is a great mucous "mover"...but the ultimate way to remove mucous is to water fast, brings mucous up that has been dormant(sometimes for years and years),amazing!!

Its been a while since I wrote in my "raw symptoms"page so i thought i must!

Well its been a bit of a rollercoaster ride since say end november 06 till 1 week ago.  But I can say that it has been a HUGE learning experience. I can't say during nov06-April07  I have been 100% raw but say 70% . Over the summer there have been days when I had nothing but lucious fruits ....but then again days of xmas partys bad food and alcohol *tails ect.

But a week ago I am 100% .
I thought this is a joke enough is enough I know whats right for my body gilr do it!!

I started off with a water fast first dat I drunk 4.5L of pure water I was on cloud 9  cheesy .
I could feel the mucous in my nose unblocking ( I have a narrow nose sooo evern the slightest bit of excess gunk in my body gets traped there and my thighs  cheesy ) by the end of the day it had practically unblocked WOW incredible feeling of the water fast! Although I did feel ( comming and going during the day slight head tension not a heaache just slight tension nose and head) probably the goop trying to get out  cheesy.

Next day i felt abit yucky light headed but still felt good .I didn't rest as much as I could beacuse I was at work and rushing on the trains and rushing to macros at Bondi to get my veggies.  I thought I would break it with a juice cleanse esp raw veg juice. Very good feeling and it gave me such clarity of thinking ! That lasted for about 1.5days beacuse I was feeling abit light headed . Then I broke the fast with a large green salad. It did feel good esp desert a large bowel of my fav muscatel grapes. mmm

Yesturday I fasted with anything till 11am then had my water and a fabbio juice of pink grapefruit and mint mmm it had such a bite . Afterwoods I had a bowel of black grapes and green salad with abit of tahini dressing I thought it was going to be too heavy for me buut it was ok . For desert though i pigged out on dried organic cranberries ( first time i tried em) with raw pistachios yummy !

This morning after my water I had half a rockmelon and noticed my tummy was just abit sore ( maybe it was from the pistachios last night ) I know we are NOT suppose to eat nuts or dried fruit when detoxing but I was naughty  evil . Anyhow that only lasted a few minutes ( I always make sure I have melon on an empty stomach) so now for lunch I am currently sipping on my green smoothie. Although it seems really feeling today and I don't feel like having all my thermos like I normally do. Maybe cos I added half an avocado in it today who knows  huh I might have it later not hungry enough to eat my salad I will save it 4 tomorrow.

Its soo funny how the body works! I think mine at the moment is telling me ease off the fats so I will and let you guys know how I go with out em.

Its such a good feeling though to get back into raw 100% . Yesturday it was soo funny I had in my head the Gloria Estefan song "Comming out of the dark ...I finally see the light now and its shinning on me..."  cheesy lalalalal

Anyways I know I am back on track and this time for good!!!
Also eating raw increases my appetite not for food but for exercise its sooo funny the other day evern though I was feeling ligh headed instead of lying down I was lightly dancing away and streching ! cheesy

This site is soooooo inspirational !!!!
THX GUYS  kiss love you all !

Hi All

I wanted to discuss with everyone my recent raw sympyoms.
I noticed on my right big toe I have a white spot. I have never had this before in my life! ( i think its been there for about 2 weeks now but its moved up from the bed of the toe nail ie with the growth of the nail.

I have had white spots on my nails ( but not for agesss) and when I did in the past a few finger nails say 2-3.

Its a msyery as to why the white spot is JUST on my toe nail and ONLY 1 toe. Does this mean I am Calcium or Magnesium defiecient.

I feel fine no other symptoms.

I also have a wart on my left thumb ( which I can feek getting smaller .

Does anybody here shead any light to what my body is telling me  huh

I would be happy to hear any advice to add to raw diet or to take out.

 kiss kiss

Hi Alegne! Some info off the net:

While there are many reasons for these white spots (called leukonychia), most of them are due to mild trauma -- such as hitting or slamming your fingernail on or into something -- and there's usually little cause for worry. The good news is they'll simply grow out with time.

Because a normal fingernail takes about eight months to grow out completely, you may not notice the mark of an injury for several months after the fact. If you see white spots about halfway up the nail, you can assume that the insult took place approximately four months earlier. But if you can' t remember slamming that finger keep in mind there are other causes for white spots.

If you use nail enamels, nail hardeners, or artificial nails, it's also possible that you're having an allergic reaction. Such products can cause nail fragility and very fine splitting or layering of the nail plate, which may result in whitish spots.

The white spots may also be something that you picked up at the gym or during your monthly manicure, namely a fungal, yeast, or bacterial infection that attacks the substance of the nail directly, leaving a whitish streak or spot behind.

**********************************

Warts are common, and are caused by a viral infection, specifically by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and are contagious when in contact with the skin of another. It is also possible to get warts from using towels or other objects that were used by a person who has warts.

hey alegene ,
i also have a lot of mucous production, i wake up and i feel like im coughing mu lungs out to get it all out.
when i first started the raw diet (and im only about 80% raw for about 4-5 wks) i felt like i didnt have any discharge and 2 weeks ago i came down w a cold and i cant get rid of it since.
i have had mucous discharge for several yrs, so i dont know if this is my body just getting rid of it or im ahving problems with what iom eating. i have a lot of bananas, and avocados.. after todays smoothie, which included both i had the most mucous production- maybe thats my problem.
did you have a problem w post nasal drip prior to the raw diet?

Hi Alegne,

Just wondered how the hair loss is going. Can you notice any new growth?

A friend of mine went raw a few years ago and she said that for the first 6 months she lost a lot of hair. But by the end of the six months she could see a whole layer of new growth on her scalp. She cut her hair short to match the growth and then let it grow out. Now she doesn't get much hair loss at all, and she has the most healthy, amazing hair.

is it a cold..or just detoxing symptoms?

Raw fat..avos durian nuts...all have the potential to give you mucuous discharge like this..

eating durian..i can feel it..so heavy on my digestion..my legs my body feels heavy...my eyes arent as pure white and clear...my tongue is coated..there is pressure on my digestion..i am spitting up mucous..
an this is just from having durian last night...mm probably around 1.5 to 2 kilos of it...

I am 80 10 10 all the way...and very sensitive to fats and my body gives me a huge kick and says..what on earth are you doing to yourself...back away from the fats, lol!

Just my experience anyway...fat is fat, whether raw or cooked..OMHO... smiley

so do you think that the fat products should be stayed away from? besides avocados and nuts what other fruits are mucous forming?
i still net to get some fat though, where would i find it if its all mucous forming? im a bit confused, sorry.
can you give me a days worth of what you eat? ur menu? im new to the diet so hearing what others are eating throughout the day really helps.

thx
