Thx guys.
I love my greans dearly . I have about a little a thermos full of green smoothie mon-fri, I thought this would have been enough to cover me. Anyhow I do have green salads too maybe I should have 1 green salad every day too ?

The weekends I dont drink green smoothies . Mon to fri to try to vary the leaves. Like as I type I am having a basil goji berry buk choy/baby sipnach/ home grown grk bitter leetuce and pear smoothie.

I am thinking about adding some spirulina and wheatgrass powder to my green smoothies this might help e?
I used to use alot of dates in them now I have gone off them and using goji berries.

Orrrr maybe I should try a week of heavily eating green salads only and plus the green smoothies.

I have noticed lately that the backs of my calves have been getting sore. The way I have been curing this is by elevation ie sleeping with a pillow undernearth and I wake up feeling great. But they keep on coming back esp when I dont exercise. They are very tight and sore feeling ......maybe I should just get some remedial massage or lymph drainage ? huh

Now I know there a whole bunch of lymph nodes around the back s of knees ect .
What I am asking is what else can I add to crank up the lymph ( apart from my rebounding) .
There are evern time when I feel it moving.
I have always been "leg stocky" thats where most on my extra fat is on my legs hips and thighs .
I am quite boney up the top Smiley
I also still have a few spider vein patches here and there and patches of cellulite .

If anybody has any suggestions let me know. Any particular food item to increase ?

my socks and cycling shorts always felt tighter after eating added salt. its well known in modelling and body building to avoid salt for a comp or photo shoot to 'slim and define' ourselves. plus chow'n down on cleansing foods. when we go 100% raw we get more. and then we just add on more benefits and tweak it from there.

when was the last time you wore heels?
when im walking around town or anywhere there is a gutter, i do a little calf stretch on it. i can be waiting for the cars to stop and stretching my legs. so the more traffic the fitter i get! im happy with that! or if im waiting for someone or on the phone or whatever.

Hi Alegne,

I know this isn't what you asked but thought you might appreciate the knowledge anyway.  I read some time ago that carrying extra weight on the upper legs comes from carrying childhood resentment around with you.

I was carrying a triple dose believe me!!!  But as I lost weight from everywhere else but my legs, I made a conscious effort and repeated to myself over and over 'I release my childhood and any remaining resentments' and the weight has started to shift in the past few weeks.

For the soreness, I was told by several professional people that magnesium helps.  Sweet corn is the absolute best source of this, but all raw fruits and vegies have some.  As Harley said, cut down on the salt which will then enable the magnesium to be dominant and work its magic.

I do hope you feel better soon!!!

May thanks for the tip.  I must be carrying heaps of childhood resentment around. LOL.  I am lean up top and as you Alegene my problem area is the bottom half.  I am trying not to focus on it as the more you focus on it the more you manifest it.

Hope you legs get better.

Hi dragonfly

I have been meaning to tell you look gorgeous in your pic! I must get around to updating my old pic too on of these days.
How long have you been raw ? I have been up and down for 2 yrs BUt since beginging of April I have been 99.9% raw I had a few times steamed veg  and a boiled organic egg...but I havent hit myself over the head like I was doing in the past over my 2 yr journey with raw.

Are you from Sydney? Or interstate?

I find i like goji berries better soaked than eaten dried.

Thank you! Always lovely to get compliments. I'm from south of Perth.

I am 2mths 100% and loving it! Before that I was vegan, then vegetarian.

I like dry goji's. They are nice for some extra crunch in my salad. But soaked is yummy in smoothies.

Would love to see an updated pic!

Hi Engela,

It's a bit hard to explain but here's my attempt.

If there were things in your childhood that you are now resentful about, hurtful parenting, other siblings being treated better than you (not for you I know, but for others reading this), wishing you lived in another country or anything that hurt you badly, then you store that resentment in your body until it is handled and discarded.  All the bad things are stored in your body somewhere, massage therapists will tell you that's a major reason for tight muscles.  But if you are resentful about something in your childhood you hold on to that in the thigh area and seem to store it in the fat cells.  Until you can release the resentment the fat seems to stay put.

I hope that makes sense.  I have found it true for me and have read other accounts of people saying the same thing.  That may not necessarily mean it's true for everyone.

Gee wizz mm resntfull childhood rolleyes ...... huh
Could being over protected as a child be it May?

See its like this my mum had 3 miscarriges I was the 4th one and I still was a premi ( i think 6 or 7months) and my mum will always be over protective of me evern till this day when I am a 35 yr old women laugh I have learnt to live with that .

Can this be a form of childhood resentmeant??? dunno
But when I was having lymphatic drainage and remedial about 5 yrs ago the massage therapist was telling my I store alot of tension in the shoulder and neck area. I must get onto it again.

Laughing.  If you were resentful about being over protected, yes.

You must be very special indeed to your mum, what a hard time she had!  But I'm glad that you made it and that she has you to love.

Yes, I have had neck and shoulder stiffness.  Used to get the most terrible stiff necks where even almost moving would cause it to all go into cramps.  Terribly painful and usually lasted 2 days before it turned into just a normal stiff neck like everyone else gets.  One of my brothers used to get them too but I've never known anyone else get them so badly.  Thankfully I am through those now and have not had one for about 5 years, might even be more.  Slowly working through all the things that needed healing so I can come out healthier the other side.

Hi Everyone

I thought I had better dig out my old journal and see what is happeneing.( this is the first time I am writing in it in 08) . Jen Raw sensation you are sooo insperational after reading one of your recent threads this wk about not being 100% . It is a rollercoaster ride indeed this raw lifestyle.

With me I have had my ups and downs but I always come back to raw becasue a) I always feel better b) I know its the best way to go. I know with me what my issues are that stop me reaching my full potential and I am just having to work through them . This Sunday I have a wedding to go to so I decided to get back onto 100% after that.
Although I would love to go to one of those institutes like "hypocraties" so sad to hear to Ozzy was sold.

Anyhowsssss without going on too much my main problem over the years has been I always get hit with a minor type of nose mucous cough throat thing around April ie change of season and I have noticed this for about 3 yrs now . Should I be fasting with the chnage of season? Just juice fasting ? I have a wedding to go to this Sunday so on Mon I might try a wk juice fasting. I might do a big hit of vit C and see what happens Smiley .
