After browsing health food stores and the internet for as many raw food goodies as I can possibly experiment with in recipes for just over a year now there are some items which I haven't been able to find, have had trouble finding in Brissie or am not sure which brands are considered raw & organic etc. (I've been a bit shy to ask too many questions of the staff at local health food stores). A million thanks goes out in advance to anyone who can help! - even if there's Australian supplier's who'll deliver that's okay too.
These items I haven't been able to locate:
 - Agave Nectar
 - Mesquite Pod Meal
 - Black Sesame Seeds (or unhulled white sesame seeds)
 - Various Seaweeds (e.g. Dulse, Wakame, Kombu etc)
 - Hemp Seeds
 - Hing
 - Whole Golden Flax Seeds
 - Goji berries
 - Carob pods
Not sure which brands are raw & organic etc.:
 - Unhulled tahini
 - Hulled tahini
 - Green superfood powders
 - Maca Powder
 - Olives both green & black
 - Herbs & Spices (other than when you dry your own)
 - Nuts (especially when they're out of their shell)
 - Carob powder & cocoa powder
 - MSM
 - Nori sheets
 - Wasabi
Had trouble finding regular or quality supplies of these:
 - Young (the first one I bought was rancid!) & mature coconuts (have settled for supermarket variety so far)
 - Finally, herbs & spices that you dry and grind yourself
Apologies for such a long list!

WOW!! I'm impressed you managed to come up with such a long list!!! Amazing!

Here's a place you definitely need to check out:
http://www.brisbaneorganicmarket.com/

Piers and I shop there every Saturday and get most of our food there. It's a 100% organic farmers market, packed with delicious food. You'll love it!

Mature Coconuts
Last week I bought organic mature coconuts there that were the best mature coconuts I have EVER had. They were $3 and they so fresh, with soft delicious flesh that shredded so easily.  Shake them to make sure there's lots of water in them, and poke the holes to make sure they are firm (when it's old they get soft).

Raw Tahini
Mayvers tahini is unheated (carried by Coles and Woolworth’s). We talked with the company and at no time is it heated to levels that would qualify it as cooked. We buy it fairly regularly (in fact it's the only thing in a bottle we buy)!

Young Coconuts
The Brisbane/Rocklea markets has a stall that sells young coconuts. When you go in it's to the right, about 2 - 3 stalls up. They are $16 for 9. Avoid the ones they sell out front, as they are often expired. You can also sometimes find them in Asian Supermarkets. (frozen Durian too)!

That's it for tonight!! More later. We have company over and are heading down to Byron for the night. Should be lots of fun, and we'll use any excuse we can to get to Santos Bulk food store!

Cheers,
Sheryl
