HI everyone,
feel free to scratch that itch anytime Neet! You have great input and I learn from your posts everyday, thankyou for your offering of support & I am equally here for you,  xx

Hey Christian, I heard about the study only a month ago, I feel the same as the monkeys! I have had so much experience with bananas growing up as we always had a bunch of bananas hanging in our kitchen straight from our garden to my several banana-only challenges.... for me an organic narna is worlds away from a conventional.  I have heard similar reports on stomach aches, heartburn etc & also the injecting of the tree, its so wrong in so many ways...the environment suffers, the taste suffers, our health suffers, the animals suffer from the poison in their ecosystem... and this applys to all conventional produce.
There are plenty of places to go in Sydney for Organic but if you want the best value for money Flemington Markets has 5 organic wholesalers open to the public, you can really get some amazing produce for a great deal.
Yes my energy levels definitely increase the more organic produce I have.  The less toxins the body has to deal with the better.  Processing, storing and hopefully eliminating toxins is an energy-draining process.  A lot of conventional isn't properly ripe either, grown in nutrient-deficient soil so you are left with an inferior product with an unbalanced nutrient-ratio.  Ofcourse eating fruits and vegies coventional or organic is worlds away from packaged foods!  But....Organic Farmers Do it Better!
Im so glad you are enjoying the Ebook, Frances and I made that about a year ago I will have to check my recipes out!

Hi RRrrr :-)
Im more than happy to answer your questions, keep em coming!
1)  Melons eaten alone, acid fruits like toms & citrus combine well with fats like nuts & avos but not with sweet fruits, sub-acid like berries and mango combine well together and with the acid fruits. Sweet fruits should be kept to themselves.... there is more to it, read 811 its all about combining properly.  There may be some miscombining in my Ebook, not sure it would be minor but we were a little less aware at that stage

2) It depends on a lot of factors but ideally it would be best to drink sufficient water before you eat.  If you have to drink it close afterwards wait atleast an hour or until the food hass left your stomach so the digestive juices and enzymes don't get diluted leading to indigestion and potentially malabsorbtion of nutrients.

3)I do exercise first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.  Whether i eat or not depends on other factors like...how long am I planning to exercise? If it is a long one I will have something small like 2 bananas. I don't think its an issue having something small before you exercise but I prefer to do it on an empty stomach if its a short workout.  The most important thing is getting some fruit carbs in soon after you finish exercising to aid recovery.

4) The only green smoothies I have and recommend are veeeery simple containing.....Ripe spotty bananas, celery, greens and water.  I will only munch Green smoothies if they adhere to  proper food combining.

Ahh wow thanks Emi! I have been missing you posts and presence :-( Great to see you back x

Thanks Neety, you are so kind xx

Went for a 20min jog this morning followed by 15mins of yoga.  My aim is 30mins and I will get there.  Jumped on the bike and rode 20kms to the local town and back.

Food:

10am
1/2 melon

1pm:
9banana smoothie with celery, rocket and baby spinach

4pm:
5 sapodillas

6pm:
7mango, celery, rocket soup

Really enjoying only eating when the sun is up, my digestion is fantastic, my energy first thing in the morning is great I jump out of bed! I  really feel it is ideal for us not to eat at night so I will continue this indefinitely.

Tomorrow is another running race already! This time it is on the flat so I will be interested to see what time I get, going to get out of my comfort zone as much as possible tomorrow and push it .

I have some more questions, if it's OK, for you Freelea, re: the amounts of fruit that you advocate we eat.

I would like to work up to eating as much fruit as you and RGG, but I struggle. I do smoothies, but can't handle too much of those either. Anyhow, I recently bought a copy of Alissa Cohen's book, and I was quite surprised to see how little she eats daily! eg: on one day she will have  a green drink, then a "collard roll", then an apple, finishing with a "piece of torte". Another day: green drink, coconut, and 2 pears. Yet another: Half a pineapple, a small salad, sweet potato chips with guac, and a piece of torte.

How is this so? She works out, too, twice a day. I'm feeling confused, of course, but I guess the answer is to see how I go and what suits me personally. Hmmm...

Thanks again in advance. I have no doubt that high fruit works for you, but if Alissa isn't doing it, perhaps other people can also do with less too?

em on a similar quest myself eldermoon... :-)

i guess there are different principles working in a pretty similar way yet down the line they are all coming to the same conclusion:

a Healthy, Clean Body needs less Food and has better Assimilation, Absorption... etc.

if you compare the calories of Alissa Cohen daily food-intake with those of Freelea, Rgg or other 811ers perhaps you'll see that they have a very different amount of food intake but similar calorie intake just coming in from different sources like fats or simply carbs...

so saying you eat 30-40 bananas at day perhaps in terms of volume seems pretty much but if your analyzing the content of nutrients its not really much at all... another person may have a cake and a guac sauce with salad and you may say of him he eats very little , yet he is fueled with calories more than you...

so question should be : how does our physical body records its food intake ? with volume-amount or with raw calories? is it our stomach eating or our eyes? When it comes down to this question perhaps even Freelea and Dr are eating pretty little compared to other 'Eaters'... its JUST FRUIT after all hey , not a 3000-4000 kal. load of MC BURGER breakfast, nor a cake loaded with Oils and Nuts...

My Conclusion: Alissa Cohen as other 811er down the line are eating pretty much the same 'amount' of calories ie. food... ,

just my thoughts on this...

Hi guys will answer your questions asap just crossed here from GG's journal to post about Coffee Enemas.....
Melb in reply to your post in GGs thread....
Most of the problems associated with coffee are found with ingesting it in the small intestine, it doesn't have the same effects when applied externally or to the large intestine (where an enema gets it)  (Castor oil applied internally in the small intestine can be pretty nasty too)  Just because something is bad for you when it is administered one way doesn't mean it is bad for you in all cases.

According to Dr Gerson with a Coffee Enema the liver is exactly what is being targeted not the intestines (although they suffer too)...

Dr Max Gerson who recommended Coffee Enemas said....
"Patients have to know that the coffee enemas are not given for the function of the intestines but for the stimulation of the liver".
-Max Gerson
Caffeine is a poison and ingesting it (no matter which end you choose to use) will cause a host of problems.

One doctor claims that caffeine "taken by this route is a strong stimulant and can be at least as addictive as coffee taken regularly by mouth."

Another potential danger, they say, is physical damage to the rectum—"fatal bowel perforation and necrosis" which have been associated with "various other types of enema." The risk of perforation comes from the insertion device used

Top 10 Dangers of the Coffee Enema
The dangers associated with the coffee enema, green tea enema, coffee colonic (coffee or tea high enema), and coffee or tea suppository are as follows:

1.Adding ingredients to the enema recipe (such as coffee, green tea, vinegar, baking soda, bath/epsom salt, or minerals) is not proven to do anything superior to the effects of plain saline.

2.Inserting anything into the anus may result in anal tearing.

3.Re-used (instead of single use) enema kits may carry bacteria, which could result in an infection.

4.Use of hot liquid in the rectum could result in serious internal burns.

5.Extensive use of enemas could result in dehydration.

6.Overuse of coffee enemas could result in electrolyte imbalances.

7.The caffeine in the coffee or tea enema may lead to caffeine addiction.

8.Caffeine enemas must be avoided by pregnant women and people with caffeine sensitivity.

9.Overuse of any type of device designed to temporarily excite the nerves of the colon (such as an enema, colonic, or suppository) could result in decreased function of the bowels.

10.The colonic does not magically remove cancer-causing toxins. It will create watery stool and stimulate the release of fecal matter from the last few inches of the lower bowel.

Apparently they have not been used for thousands of years (plain enemas have been) but coffee only since 1917.

There is no safe way to take caffeine.  Having enemas is just like allopathic medicine as far as Im concerned - it treats the symptom not the cause.  Address the major cause....diet - Adopt a lowfat raw vegan diet and there is no need for any invasive, dangerous and down right weird practices! I don't know about you but my common sense says the anus is where waste comes out, not comes in.

If it was something 'god'/mother nature intended for us to use to attain vibrant health then we would've been born with an Enema kit attached to our bodies somewhere! We are born with the tool for healing....our bodies! The body heals the body....but only if we give it a chance and be patient, consistent and loving!

Most of those 10 Dangers of Coffee Enemas are Dangers of any kind of Enema, and Dangers of Consuming Caffeine, through the mouth or whatever.

About the only point that seems to put coffee and enema in the same 'danger' is the first one where all it says is 'not proven to do anything superior to the effects of plain saline', Does that sound like a big danger to be concerned about 'not proven ... to be superior...'?  There is actually quite a lot of research that medicated enemas ARE proven to being superior to saline enemas, when you look into the effects an enema can have beyond loosening up faecal matter, eg coffee enemas stimulate the release of bile from the liver, that's the main thing they are recommended for, liver cleansing from flushing the liver out.

Consuming caffeine through the lower portion of the large intestine may allow some consumption of caffeine that can become addictive, but the problem with drinking coffee is that it is socially acceptable, people crave their double latte and can get their fix at a drive through service provider if need be, I really can't imagine going and having 12 coffee enemas a day will be socially acceptable in the near future (one of the deaths attributed to coffee enemas was someone having 12 in one day - I think 12 plain saline enemas would've had the same result), nor will fellow coffee enema addicts be able to gather together over an enema bag in social situations.  Once enemas are socially acceptable, it might be more of a concern about the addictive possibilities of a coffee enema vs a saline one.  Lots of drugs can be applied as suppositories, but you don't see people saying 'I'll just shove this down my pants and up there because it works better that way', they stay with the snorting/smoking/injecting/normal digestive tract ingestions options because they are the socially acceptable ingestion options, they've usually got to be pretty hardened users to go the suppository path.

I'm not really sure of the point you're making that documented use of coffee enemas only goes back to less than a century ago, while non-coffee enemas are documented for thousands of years.  In Ayurvedic texts that go back 5000yr, enemas are usually medicated with various herbs, including Ayurvedic caffeine type stimulants that give the same liver cleansing results.  There is a LOT of research into this type of thing in India where they are getting all of the western proof to back up the traditional system beyond ' this has been done this way for thousands of yours'.  They're not studying the effects of coffee enemas because that is outside their scope of Ayurvedic herbs, but enemas with medicated solutions are well studied and proven to have an impact on the person using them.

Coffee is often included as an externally applied scrub and caffeine is included in many cellulite products these days, yes it would be better if people didn't have cellulite in the first place, but external application of caffeine does stimulate the cells to release sodium, the dreaded part of salt NaCl that causes fluid retention. Note that caffeine taken by mouth has the opposite effect. A coffee scrub will have more of an effect on someone than just the obvious skin exfoliation than scrubbing with a handful of sand will do, and it is less likely to block drains.  Applied externally it usually does not get into the blood stream in effective amounts to cause caffeine addiction problems, it is metabolised in the area it is appied to, not a systemic effect.

I doubt people with incredibly clean systems would require something that stimulates a liver purge, people working on their way to an incredibly clean system can weigh up the benefits against the concerns for a liver cleanse using a coffee enema once a week or once a month, it's the decision of the individual, and blanket WARNING 10 Dangers of coffee enemas when most of the dangers have nothing in particular to do with a coffee enema is scaremongering and hoping people don't bother understanding beyond the headlines.

I personally think, each and everyone is different and what works for one may not work for others, there is no set law that states..."this is for everyone" One doctors opinion doesnt mean thats the law for everyone, Like 801010, not for everyone. Though I dont do coffee of any sort...I think it is up to each person, and you can only ever know if it is good for you by trying it yourself, in you are so inclined...the results good or bad will speak for themselves in how you feel, each person knows their own bodies...and how they feel when they have an adverse reaction, or if something, in this case a coffee enema is working for them in a positive way.

Info is great always important to do your research...but...hey, it might just work and be of benefit for some people.
