(for olives) take one out and you almost feel threatened by their size. these botillas melt in your mouth like a really ripe avocado, and have a nice lemony tang. have they been cured in something tangy beforehand? and there's little bitterness to them - quite a lot less bitter than raw pleasure greek olives (which isn't to say they're not nice either). having now tried raw olives, i fear this may have started an addiction... sheryl and piers - carefree olive traffickers! After having the ultimate olive experience with the sampling of raw kalamatas I did not believe anything could surpass it. How naive I was for the botilla had yet to enter my humble home. Words cannot adequately describe just how juicy and delicious these are -- if I wasn't worried about my own supply I would insist everyone I met try one. Take the monumental step, tackle these big beauties and never look back! |
