The Champion juicer is a mastication juicer - it chews the fibers and breaks up the cells of vegetables and fruits to separate juice from pulp. It was designed in 1945 and at the time was the best juicer you can buy. Personally we now use a Green Life twin gear for our juicing, but when we had the opportunity to buy a second hand Champion we did. It makes the BEST raw nut butter ever. It's the only machine we've ever used that give a rich and creamy raw nut butter without the addition of any extra oils or water. You do need to shut it down every couple of minutes to allow it to cool though or it heats up the nuts to an above raw food level. It also makes great frozen sorbet, very quick with ease. We've done a comparison based on our personal experiences to show the differences we perceived between the champion and a newer style single auger juicer.
